    Finally!!! An office and washer/dryer under 30 feet. Loved everything, but why did they put vents in the kitchen floor?! Right in front of the sink? That's a lot of foot traffic and debris for those vents...

    Why not make the office desk a flip flip/down surface like the kitchen counter extension? That opens up access to the shelving cubbies! Making the overhead cabinet shallower would prevent head bonking, adding another flip up counter extension to the left of the sink would be great too... and electric recliners as an option for us older folks would be awesome!

    Overall love it.
    Couple of suggestions. 1). Make the desk folding style. This will give more access to the shelves/cabinet behind.
    2). No carpet under the sofa
    3). Add a couple of removable stools for the sofa.

      Came to say the same thing. I would actually remove the cabinet above the desk (again making the desk fold) and put a door on the floor to floor to ceiling cabinet to give it a pantry look

    I would be concerned about the weight of a washer/dryer that far behind the axle and the weight of the fridge on a slide out. So happy to see manufacturers addressing modern needs for a workspace and laundry. I could see long-term camping if they figure out the weight distribution, made the fridge travel friendly, and used a pivoting pull out bar instead of a permanently mounted bar. Can't wait to see what the future holds with these. Thanks for bringing it to us!

    Interesting. Washer, dryer, under 30 foot, good thing for sure. And the desk area also a plus. It should have optional roof solar panels of at least 400 level.

    I actually love that this doesn't have a dinette or bunks. Both are things that I don't necessarily need and in fact, would rather not have. A short queen is not a deal breaker for me because I am shorter, but I understand that taller people would be more comfortable with a true queen.

      Thanks, Josh. Agreed. Have them make a standard rooftop solar package, and they can offer an upgrade to super if they want...or add on additional panels. Otherwise, I LOVE IT, and appreciate the innovation on a 30 footer.

  • @littlebit8901
    @littlebit8901 Місяць тому +5

    Well, for everyone that says "no dinette, no sale", there is one that thinks "A dinette? No thanks"
    It's about time they did this. I have been looking for a "smallish" RV for a while, with me being a travel nurse.
    I don't have children, so I do not need/want bunk beds. I also do not need a dinette. Why do I want to be reminded of sitting at a restaurant in my RV lol.
    Now, lets just hope they don't cheap out on quality. People will pay more for quality.. for me anyway. I will pass over garbage, not matter the layout.
    On the solar prep thing. Yes, I personally think it should be prepped for solar. It is a 50 amp prepped trailer, so the wiring is already in place.

    This is an amazing layout!!! Finally something for working couples! I can see how you can bump into each other near the desk area but its under 30 ft, I'm here for THIS! 1. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the oven and give me an convection microwave. 2. definitely a 2nd air conditioner 3. Love the color of the cabinets! Wouldn't mind seeing a nice soothing green too! 4. It would be cool if they could make that counter top that blocks the fridge during travel mode to fold up and ease up access to the entire rv 5. a peg board would be a fantastic idea in the outdoor storage! 6. Front storage needs a more water proof flooring. I'd be afraid of putting anything wet in there.

    I love 99% of this model! I like the idea of a bigger desk but im fine with the size of the cabinet above. I do wonder how inconvenient the lower cubbies may be without the desk being a flip-down style. Floor vents poorly located. Love that an addition ac can be added to the bedroom. I dont mind the fridge and pantry being set back like that, as it gives the open feeling. Kitchen is great. I like the smaller tv but probably because I just don't use one. Bar seating instead of dinette? Love it! Bedroom... its fine. Its functional. I'm not upset about it but id gladly add 6 inches to the overall build to have a true queen. Seems to have good storage. I do love the octopus fight club near the door for jackets!

    Love the theater seating and TV placement💥the breakfast bar💥the oven💥and office desk💥but that entry level bathroom with a cheap plastic toilet, a shower curtain that will drip water all over the floor, a Dollar Store 4” fart fan, no ladder or solar and cheap Chinese tires were big disappointments😩

    Look at our first trailer but will need a work space. This one is great but I do have several thoughts (though as a first-timer they may not be realistic). 1. Stools with backs 2. Desk with keyboard/mouse shelf as suggested below but maybe a way to flip out a piece to double the desk size 3. Maybe some storage under the bar? Even if it is just a way to hang pots. 4. Bathroom needs more storage - over the toilet or over the floor "shelf" 5. Like that the fridge & pantry will come forward but I don't have a ton of tall stuff for the outside storage this change will provide. Can some of the space be taken by some small cubbies being put in with inside access from the theater seats? Maybe big enough for baskets of paperbacks or DVD's. 6. Hard to tell the size of the cabinet above the sink, but maybe a shelf in there? 7. Under bed storage - maybe a drop-in divider to seperate the under bed and the other storage Don't want my cats to escape under the trailer. 8. Optional roof solar

      @JoshtheRVNerd  Місяць тому

    I can't believe what I'm looking at, it's great! Really hope other brands follow suit! And no dinette? No problem! Honestly, as a solo camper that wants a fancy multi monitor setup for my work, I can easily see myself taking the little breakfast bar as the desk and using the desk as a small eating area instead.
    Sadly, the lack of bedroom access with the slide in is a deal-breaker, shame they couldn't get a 2nd door in there or something. Also, no roof solar is a problem, they at least need a prep/option!
    If I had to nitpick, not a fan of the floor vents and, and IDK the bedroom seems kinda barren to me.
    Love the peg board idea!

    Reverse the bathroom door will work better when the slide is closed
    Add the 6 inches and put in the full queen
    Add more height throughout and dome in the shower
    Make the dinner hinged so you don't have to climb through it
    Swap the refrigerator and pantry for full access when slide closed
    What's in the kitchen corner? Empty space?
    Add a drawer dishwasher under sink why it only uses 3 gallons of water when boondocks
    Increase the tv size is excellent
    The peg board idea or French cleats may be even a retractable hose
    Bathroom plumbing is their room to reverse the toilet and have no abstraction ?
    If there is no solar for boondocks, what about fitting a gas generator on the front hitch?

    Bed access in tow mode would make this perfect! I’m willing to wiggle around or under the countertop to get to the kitchen but with no bed access it wouldn’t work for us, we do a long trip every year from Florida to jersey with our camper, we don’t have bed access in tow mode either but we have bunks and a dinette that we use when we stop for the night (a 6 ft man does fit in a bunk believe it or not) and I sleep on the dinette which I know is frowned upon in a slide but we’ve been doing it for years and it still works and to be fair I bought from a private seller and wasn’t aware you weren’t suppose to use slides when they’re in for years after we started doing it lol (we do use slide stabilizers tho when it’s out to take some of the pressure off). Our campers old anyway so I’ll just take my chances till we can up grade. Anyway. Make that bed accessible somehow with the slide in and it’s perfect for two people (and our dogs).

    @ 9:25, this may be a silly question, but I'm confused about "some RV manufacturers usually don't like putting the washer/dryer in the back of RV's", you said something about the drum rolling around when on and how that could break the stuff.
    1. Break what? And 2. Why would the back be any different than any other spot in the RV?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Місяць тому

      There's more bouncing on the back of the RV. Think of kids on the back of a schoolbus hitting a bump and slamming against the ceiling of the bus. The further behind the axles the more pronounced the bounce
      Those W/D units have some moving parts that can get banged around to the point they get damaged if bounced too hard
      Above the axles / front of the RV bounces a lot less and with reduced violence

  • @malindabyers8782

    Yes, add 6" for a std mattress, solar prep/basic, and I'd add a taller access/peg mounting to that void space for Fishing rods, etc. Otherwise it's near perfect for 2. And the underbed access to the passthrough is perfect arrangement for a litter box place.

    Nice start! I like the layout but would like to see it at 32' with a bedroom slide w/chest of drawers, plus you could add a full queen or even a king. But no table/booth is no problem! One question I do have to save the washer/dryer/bathroom plumbing from the tail hop is to invert the tongue, meaning the bedroom would be in the rear and desk/washer/bathroom would be on the tongue side which would save on the plumbing getting knocked around. I know that makes the whole rig have to be 'mirrored', but I think it would make the setup more durable. Not much to jostle and damage in the bedroom with it in the aft. Great video!

    Your pegboard question made me think, “I wish mfgs would find a way to give us tool storage on the inside of the flip up pass through doors.” Obviously, it’d have to involve strong straps or holders that don’t cause stuff to fall out during open/close, but it seems doable to me. Oh, and yes to the pegboard question btw.

    The bigger desk would be great. Kudos for the W/D prep, not enough of that in the market. Noted TV will be bigger, but would also be nice to have cabinets behind/around. Counter extension is good, but should be flush and one by the sink that is flush would be a bonus. Small cabinets above the couch/smaller window? Run a cabinet up the wall across from the toilet. Not a fan of the floor vents. Just add drawers under the bottom section of the bed instead of lift/prop door and block mid bed outside access storage (also more secure as you can access cabin from cargo door). Small drawer dishwasher would be great for longer term/camping with hookups. Organizer in behind fridge outside storage would be a plus, but peg board hooks always fall out. Maybe a garage track system from national brand? For me, roof solar prep at the very least. Combine gray water hookups with black. I would want Azdel version option.

    Josh, it seems to me, if we are going to 12 V refrigerators, there should be some minimal (200W?) solar panel on the roof with its own charge contoller to maintain the house battery. If an external solar charge port is added, an additional dedicated charge controller should be added.

    I really like it. Looks really sharp inside. The desk area just screams artsy and crafty zone. I LOVE that!!!! Plus the outside coloring is great too. Bed is fine, there are ways and no big deal to put in a regular mattress if needed. A suitcase solar is better anyway and that side storage is perfect to store it. I look for shade spots anyway so a suitcase solar is better.

    Hey Uncle Josh, I hope that you're having a great day! I like this new2025 Avenger 25MKO travel trailer. I'm glad that they are going to use the retro metal on the outside of it. I do like that they give you a desk an a place for washer and dryer in the back of the trailer. I do think that they should either put a solar panel on the roof or atleast make it solar preped, one of the two! Most everyone will want a solar panel on top or have it preped, besides the plug and play solar panel suitcase. I like watching your videos Uncle Josh because you do your own stunts and you make us laugh. The one thing that concerns me.is the pull handles for the sewer outlets the way they are positioned they are angle almost straight down and there is a chance if you go over a speed bump or there is debris in the road it could hit the sewer pull handles an bend them or mess.them up! Thank you Uncle Josh for showing us and giving us all the information on this new 2025 Avenger travel trailer. Your number one fan and friend Leonard from North Carolina. #NERDHERD!!!

    Ooh, ooh. In regard to your solar question how about this - a simple port on the roof that has access to the baggage compartment? That way you could BYO solar but that would also work for things like Starlink or satellite TV and that sort of thing.

    Love this concept. Definitely keep it as a different model from the BH. Some suggestions:
    1. Swap fridge+pantry for road mode fridge access.
    2. 6-9" height or 3" barrel roof for more shower head room.
    3. No floor vents.
    4. 12V fridge needs a minimum 200w solar on the roof. Keep existing solar plug.
    5. Fan of bigger desk, bigger tv, outside storage behind fridge+pantry, 50amp for 2nd air.
    You didn't show the suspension. Does it have an equalizer? Looking forward to others r+d this floorplan on the laminated side. Thanks Nerd!

    Overall I like it (or at least doable) for a stick and tin trailer; however it does need some tweaking. It isn’t the second camper purchased the first time around.
    1) Need to change the outside color. The grey and maroon stripe just doesn’t trip the purchase. Unsure as to what it would take for something that we really want.
    2) Full solar. Always maximize the fullest amount. This automatically puts any type of camping at ease for the consumer. September is National Emergency Preparedness Month. This is the month set aside by FEMA along with state and local governments to educate the public on the importance of being prepared for a disaster or emergency, because depending on what it is, emergency services may not be able to reach you. If you must evacuate your home due to a major event; if you own any type of RV, remember you already have shelter. Everyone else will be flocking with the crowds to hotels. You are the smart one and can find a quieter place. If you have maximum solar, you can somewhat stay off the grid.
    3) The office changes are good improvements.
    4) Will the larger tv be stationary or on a pull down or swivel arm?
    5) I’ll consider this CPAP complaint.
    6) Tip to tail awnings. I know awning manufacturers make certain sizes, but I can’t help to think if they have a large enough order for a certain size that they wouldn’t pass up that order.
    7) Permanent 300# ladder is preferred on the back of camper.
    8) I see there is room for a second spare tire. What brand and model are these tires?
    9) Correction: It was the Dukes of Hazard that slid across the 1969 Dodge Charger. Magnum P.I. just hopped over the door into the Ferrari which was owned by Robin Masters who owned the estate.
    10) Do you know what these manufacturers do with their prototypes? Do they make the changes on these particular units and keep them as protos or do they destroy them? If the price was right I might be interested in buying a prototype as long as they still warrantied it.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Місяць тому

      @JoshtheRVNerd  Місяць тому

      The challenge with what you're seeking to accomplish is several fold
      First.. RVs really aren't intended as primary homes. People do it but that's not what they're made to do
      Secondly if you're in the used RV market I suggest just ignoring all the brand name stuff and focusing on the features and condition of the RV exclusively. I've seen owners nearly ruin premium level RVs quickly and I've also seen people keep basic campers VERY nice over the years

  • @jayd872011
    @jayd872011 Місяць тому

    You are really helpful with your walkthroughs which keeps me watching you but your take on weights and measures is just absolutely ridiculous I mean if my F-150 can't tow a 7800 lb camper fully loaded that's under 33 ft we got a problem especially since it's a V8 and a longer bed maybe that ember wouldn't be a good tow but anything under 33ft and 8000lbs should be handled just fine with the better motor configurations

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Місяць тому

      For general towing I agree - that'd be fine
      But if you're going thru mountains? That's a horse of a different color
      The trick is people who camp very differently all watch these videos and people don't always understand that towing guidelines change based on where you're going as much as what you're towing
      I don't sell truck. I don't make money when trucks sell. I have no horse in the race of "pushing" bigger trucks
      But I've been all over and seen how severely terrain affects towing

    Josh, my wife and I saw this. Just as everyone has a backside, everyone also has a comment... our consesus was that (for us), we would probably like to do away with the desk area, bring that wall forward and make the bathroom area full width, but include the laundry compartment in the bath...and then move the 'throne' over to make the bath almost 'suite size'.... but this is just us... we are interested in the Alliance Delta prototype you showed earlier...as it is closer to what we would want...once we sell our old Bounder 33R! Thanks Nerd! Oh, I was so on board until you said some w/d manufacturers lose warranty when on the back wall. Doing it right to increase the desk size. Yes, better solar options, please. Really nice and I prefer it laid out, no DIY to this type of setup unless it voids the w/d warrenty. For the bed struts, I think if they are not going to be sized for a heavier mattress, might as well leave them off.
    As long as you crack open the refrigerator, I do not think you need to say 12 volt, it is prevalent enough now.

    Avenger, three things. Put a circle hole in the desk for wires, and put a double outlet under the desk. On either side of the desk, extend the top by at least 4.5 inches if you can. This will allow for the larger monitor mounts that support the big 32-38-inch monitors. Not everyone will use that large of a monitor, but anything smaller than 38 will use a desktop mount smaller than 4.5 inches.
    The power on the side is acceptable, but under the desk would help keep the small desk nice and tighty.
