Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, UA-cam and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!

This really helped me! I have ADHD and Fibromyalgia. It is a constant struggle to care for myself, and sometimes I can't get what I need to sleep well at night. My pain levels can be awful, and it is tough to do schooling and find a job. I am currently struggling with my mental health a lot due to all this. People constantly are telling me to just do it. My parent often will tell me to stop making excuses when I am telling the truth that I cannot do something at that moment. I end up either pushing through and being in an incredible amount of pain after or I don't do it and lose my electronics or other things. One of the worst times this has happened, I had put in a load of laundry but I was in too much pain to fold my clothes. My parents said that if I didn't fold my clothes right then and there they would take them. I do not wish for anyone to have a physical or mental disability. Keep up the good work to change how some people view others!

And looking in mirrors, checking the corners of each room in a little routine
I used to do an odd thing with my wrists/hands on my face, as if I had an itch

thank you for this!!!! ❤ I experience this w/ my ocd as well & end up feeling so frustrated w/ myself because I hate to confront others, even when it’s a small thing! I really appreciate you shining the lens on this part of ocd- it’s something so rarely talked about. so many people just think that ocd is the stereotypical “wash your hands 20 times or your brain convinces you your dad will die” (which is a valid experience!), but ocd can also look like this: a corrective obsession (spelling or grammer for example) & failing to correct leads to rumination.

I have dyslexia and it is extremely frustrating when you're just trying to do everyday tasks, like taking notes, texting, or school work. I find it really annoying when one minute you're perfectly fine can spell like someone without dyslexia can. Then the next minute you cant. Love your vids!!

Thank you for pointing out that doing small basic tasks can be a struggle to some people and it is to me. I have depression and mornings I just can’t get up because I have no energy and motivation. You really speak for everyone and that makes me happy. That why your a great person.
P.S. your very pretty and I enjoy your videos a ton!!

I’m similar. With the first one it doesn’t help that my best friend is dyslexic so she commonly misspells stuff. And I struggle with hygiene, my family doesn’t rlly understand that though like sometimes but brushing my teeth or washing my face or having a shower I’m supposed to have that day (rarely the shower one though)

my memory's really shit so i don't know how long it went on for, but i used to be afraid of showering for a while after it almost made me vomit (i have GERD). i would wash every body part individually, and sometimes just my hair. it was really hard for a while, but eventually i learned how to shower again and now i'm doing it regularly :)

I just hate showering in the winter. Idk if it's all on my mental health but yeah, I barely have the energy to do my school work and showering is just another bothersome task to fulfill.

I totally relate to the first part, even though I don’t have OCD. I have to correct people and also feel so guilty for doing it but something in me makes me do it. And if I don’t do it my brain just can’t focus on anything else which stresses me out even more than I already was.

That higeine thing? That’s the epitome of me sadly.
I currently struggle with big depressive thought (hint hint) and making sure I don’t over eat or under eat, that showering just, falls to the way side. I think I’m gonna talk to my therapist about that.

I'm AuDHD, which means I need routines and structured order to function but I can't do repetitive things to save my life. That means things like brushing my teeth is a constant struggle since I can actually feel physical discomfort of having to do it. Not only does my brain remind me of it all the time, but my body is "hell nah!". Same goes for any medication I need to take for more than 10 days straight. I'd rather starve than eat the same thing more than two days in a row. It's so frustrating having those two sides compete.
Add to this my ME(/CFS) and the energy levels are just nonexistent.
I also struggle with not correcting when someone says something factually wrong. I don't have compulsion to do so, but I will spend way too much energy thinking about it if I don't. And yes, I do fact check myself too, frequently.

You talk about your OCD, like its something you cant control, like its a tic. But the fact is, you can change your ways when it comes to your ocd. You can keep neglecting your urge to correct someone, and after a while, you will stop feeling like your day is ruined, and it will become as normal as anything else 😊

I greatly appreciate what you do and have vast respect for your ability to stay strong despite all you face. I struggle with a lot myself and I know some days are worse than others and it can be very difficult to push through. I've struggled with PTSD and depression for some time now and I think what's hardest of all is people who don't understand why I am this way and not having anyone who can relate to what I've been through. I spent a few years in the military and have seen vast horrors. It's also difficult to know what I'm capable of. It's incredibly rare for me to talk about my experiences because I feel judged for it because most people who weren't there have no clue and are unable to picture these things being true. I also fear my family not being able to see me the same way. It's a daily struggle but I do all I can to cope and keep pushing forward. Sadly there's not much help out there for veterans and it's why so many roam the streets homeless or choose to end life entirely. You might not have served but the mere fact you are capable of staying strong and give everything your very best. You mam are a true warrior 🪖

Hello Zara! I love your videos!
I have Anxiety so every time I’m witnessing drama I HAVE to tell someone or just go away because the more I experience conflict the more anxiety I get but if I’m part of the drama then I’ll hold a grudge and I’ll have to let out my thoughts so I don’t have to deal about it again. And I also have ADHD! So during conflict, my ADHD and Anxiety just work together to make me nervous and begin stimming so that’s another reason why I should tell someone or just not be near.
