He wasn’t actually that bad in f1, he was just a bit unlucky at times and had the challenge of one of the greats being his teammate. You don’t win 4 in a row of anything and not have at least some talent.
The IRL Indy racing league was actually ran races exclusively on Ovals until 2005 When they started to race on a few road and street courses. After the merger between IRL AND CCWS in 2008 they started to add more of those type of races as well which leads to the IndyCar of today. I would like to see them expand internationally again to South America and Europe and Asia again like CART/CCWS used to
