      You're putting too much pressure into it, when done properly it doesn't take much pressure

    Just did it (took me a while) and the view of the weave is the most amazing thing i have experienced in a while...the weave came out spectacular and its all because of the angle and letting the cards do most of the work...(this after struggling with a practice deck that i completely shredded the edges with lol)

      It doesn't set itself up to cascade it like a riffle bridge, and there's really no reason to as far as keeping the cards straight goes, since the initial faro doesn't really bend them like a riffle would.

    I got it within a minute, slide the cards laterally against each other over and over while applying pressure upwards. It works.

      Thank you so much sir! You explanation was exactly what I needed to understand it.
      The video helped me little, but after reading this I got it right the first time :)

    • @nickm.4274
      @nickm.4274 7 років тому +2

      In my experience, only slide the cards as a last resort. It can ruin your deck. Hardly any pressure should be used, as the angle right pressure should automatically make them weave together.

    • @niveshproag8660
      @niveshproag8660 7 років тому +1

      The thing is, once you have done it the first time, it's very easy to do it again, since you understand the "feel." So while learning if sliding it laterally helps you manage to do it the first time, you should be able to do it again without lateral sliding after that.

    • @nickm.4274
      @nickm.4274 7 років тому +2

      Then you should specify. Don't want people damaging their cards from faro shuffles!

    A hew other tips. Some I learned from other videos, some from practice.
    1. don't force it--relax and adjust/retry
    2. it helps to have the edge of the stacks at a slight angle--this happens naturally with the top, but might take conscious effort for the bottom.
    3. practice a lot to get the "feel"
    4. try squaring up the bottom packet on a table once or twice to give you an idea of how square they need to be ideally
    5. try plastic cards for a fun variant
    6. when done right, the faro shuffle should not damage card edges or corners, but during practice you might hurt a few corners
    7. practice a lot until you can do it eyes closed, literally.
    8. The faro shuffle probably won't ever be as fast as the riffle, but your speed will improve with practice.
    9. Finally, remember there are angles involved, however slight, so mashing the two stacks straight-on will never work (unless your car edges are bevelled, in which case that's an angle, right?)

    • @RationallySkeptical
      @RationallySkeptical 4 роки тому +1

      Traditional cuts are designed to faro face down (usually only casino-type decks but this is changing recently) and modern cut are meant to faro face up.

    To weave cards, apart from pressuring them at an angle, twist the cards (ie rotate one hand) so you'll have the feel of how easy the cards intertwine altogether. And pressure both cards too hard, just make sure they are aligned, push and angle it, then rotate about. Use the corners to weave cards, it helps

      YourJustAsSaneAsMe If your starting out just count off 26 cards and square them up best you can in each hand. The knack is pressure points when weaving them. Don't push or force them in. Also when weaving them together weave them upwards. I start weaving cards from the bottom up.

    Do you need USPCC rated cards to do this? Because on my basic Walmart deck, this ain't working, these cards are literally like glued together. I can do it, but I have to slide them, and once its ''Done'' it takes stupid amount of pressure to slide them from corner to straight.

Also you might wanna use older cards that are NOT colored like just an ordinary bicycle deck of cards that you don't care if you ruin. it took me like an hour but i've got it down, i'm still not great at it but i can do it just keep trying at first it seems impossible but over time you'll get it
