Isn’t it just amazing to anchor up in front of a island or even local and to either use a dropper loop or fly line set up and just catch California Kelp Bass and California Sheephead???? Amazing episode, two episodes left until season two is finished!
Yea it is an awesome adventure for you guy's. A dream for sure. You guys need to check out Tarpons Nest in Puerto Rico and make a video of your trip there. 😊👊👍
once again great content, I really look forward to seeing more episodes and hopefully more seasons! Keep it up, it would be cool to see you guys travel many other places! greetings from Portland Oregon
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Sincere Ivan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Ahahahaha He said stay away from me...sounds like me. Went to the island yesterday Monday 8/7 and this was the exact same action we had. Limited out with smaller grade YT and one nice Calico. Lots of Calicos on fly line too. Wind came up at 1030a and made the water a little rough for the ride home.
Another Great video! It’s always been a dream to fish like this. I have a hard time getting a chance to get out since getting shot and paralyzed! Catchem for us boys! Can we buy a swag bag?
try canned peas and corn in your chum mix. my dad would use that at Catalina when i was a kid, just a can of peas really and it made the fish go crazy. i used peas and corn later around south coast OC and had good results with that too.
yeah that gets the number eleven perch! you have a cool channel that makes me homesick for my youth. i used to fish for the three B's and more growing up in socal. my dad worked at Davey's Locker back in the 60's when i was little and he had a lobster boat and later a harpoon boat. we moved to Oregon to fish here. lots of good memories of live baiting in the kelp. thanks for the comeback, i subscribed.
Throwing live bait while chumming cut bait to get more inshore species is an interesting idea for socal. Might have to try it. I've been in those big schools of barracuda before. It can get annoying after a bit when you are really hoping to bring home yt. A wide open surface iron bite is always a blast however.
matt fallon I trust you more than any other fisherman I know Matt. Miss seeing you at the shop. Maybe I will give you a call in the next couple days and we can catch up if you are available.
It really did work well for us. While it's nothing new, we usually just don't spend the time or money to bring a chum bucket. The only issue was the mackeral got so thick you could only fish a small mack or big sardine. Good news was every bigger bait was a really nice big calico. Ali
Local Knowledge Fishing Show Thanks for the reply Ali. All tose macs would be a great problem to have if my 8 and 10 year old boys are on the boat. If you ever need a couple of dedicated baitmakers here in San Diego, hit me up. They love pulling up a full sabiki rig. :)
Someone told me the yellow tail like scrambled eggs. How do you rig scrambled eggs? It doesn't seem like it's even possible to use eggs for bait, but he always catches a bunch of those yellow tails.
I was wondering the same thing about mints when I heard YT like mint too... I was using those mints from restaurants on hooks but never a bite. Maybe try growing some at home and chumming the leaves soon
Out of every episode from every season, this episode is my favorite out of them all, I'm watching this episode for the 4th time!
Rad. Thank you!
The best show! Great content.
Thanks Mason!

You guys make Sd water look so good lmao
We are lucky to have some awesome fishing off the coast of San Diego!

You put them in a burrito and place is on the hook. TaDa! :) Scrambled Egg is a color of surface iron lure. See any SoCal Tackle Shop.

What is the chase boat? I saw triple outboards
39 Contender
Is that bonito the same as Atlantic bonito?
Very similar for sure.
Where did you guys get the chum buckets?? Havent been able to find them anymore.
Dana Landing carries them.
@@LocalKnowledge sweet thanks you guys are awesome 👍🏼 miss the skipjack..
I think Black Sea bass are closer to grouper.
It's actually a giant bass and not a true grouper. Thanks for watching Troy!
What's on the back of the boat? You can't see the name of the boat.
That's our kill bag for larger fish. The boat is named "Tuna Jihad" :)
Some weird looking bonito?? @ 7:33
We get confused easily! :)
You boombas, these guys left the islands and went to the point the catch the bass
We were targeting more than bass but the bass wanted to chew.
Different cuda same smell.
Haha. yep!
Bonito no a
