It would still be beyond the pale that a leading presidential candidate would be gagged at all.
If you listened to the truth in the media, you would know that the gag order does apply to the witnesses. Judge Merchan, who is a good man and not conflicted at all, threatened Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels with a gag order if they did not stop talking about Trump, and so what did they do? They did what "normal" people do and they stopped talking about Trump!!! it is an injustice that this trial is not televised because you would know what a disaster Trump is, instead of listening to his lies every time he comes out of the courtroom. Where in the world has the truth gone. Fox hasn't uttered a word of truth for decades.

Gag orders are not put on defendants. In the cases where they have been successfully put in place, they were put on the prosecution. The argument for a gag order is that it protects First and Sixth Amendment rights of defendants. Defendants always have the ability to waive their First and Sixth amendment rights anyway, so why would they need a court to protect rights that they themselves are already entitled to waive ? None of this makes any sense.

The request to lift the gag order on 45 was outrageous. He has the right to “respond” to Ms. Daniel’s testimony by taking the witness stand. These talking heads in this video conveniently leave out that aspect of this case.
His lawyers apparently wanted their Client the opportunity to respond with no legal consequence whatsoever! Of course, 45 testifying in his own defense would be legal suicide for 45. Alvin Bragg would love for 45 to take the witness stand.
