Non-wing sprints can be violent, You gotta tighten those belts down as much as possible. The HANS device works great, but the posts are a terrible design...tighten them to much, the restraints wont connect properly. Keep them to loose, and the nut will eventually thread out over time, much like this did. glad you're ok. The car is replaceable, you're not.
I do a bit of wakeboarding / skiing and i think all the falling off/ crashing i do in the water may have helped callus / strengthen my neck and body over the years
Makes me think something was defective. I've seen lots of flips way worse then this and the post stayed there. By no means was this not a bad flip. Just seems strange they came out.
Yeah bc he decided to race a sprint car *without* headrests… basically makes the hans pointless. Certainly illustrates why you shouldn’t cut corners on safety. At least he’s wearing gloves lol
There are a few things here that are puzzling me. First one being that dosent look like a containment seat. Second being the hans post being ripped out of the helmet and three that you moved around a lot in that crash. Like either the seat or belts failed. Something deff jsnt right here
The seat is an ultrasheild containment seat (i still currently use this seat), the helmet and hans i took back to the place of purchase, the same person that fitted the hans posts and he looked puzzled and inspected to find no faults as to why it ripped out. The seatbelts stretched and i have bought a new set to go racing. All items were brand new off the shelf items purchased at start of the season, it was the 6th show the safety equipment had done..
@@BrentFox91 I had the same seat in my car over here in the states if i was you id look into a butlerbuilt my ultrasheild seat failed during a crash the head rest bent down 3 inches glad to see you were okay after the crash
Hi Mike, this class is an aussie class and run a 3.8v6 buick GM motor that came factory in vn commodores sold in aus. Converted to run methanol. run a max of 9.5:1 comp. For more info check out a w s r website

The way his head shook when it rolled over looked really bad, my neck would have broke.
Good equipment
Sounds like he got better stuff though…SPRINTCARS can be pretty safe, or can bite you…still a friggin blast to drive
They need the headrest nascar has that saves lives

Jesus it ripped the hans posts out of your helmet
Tbh I dont think he had one
@@AlanAtor if you look before the wreck, its very visible on the back lower part of the helmet

Ikr, his neck shook viciously.
The head containment part is too low
Hans do tend to move in side flips that’s why I use a Simpson hybrid and it is a full containment seat
You need headrests. Both sides. Your HANS is almost worthless without it. The anchor wouldn't have popped out if your head was also contained.
He didn’t even have a hans which is even worse
Holy HANS device, Batman!
The first official that got to the car sounded like Kermit the frog
James Wagner frrr tho😂
HE DID
Yeah bro wth, an Aussie Kermit

kinda looks like he fed you a wheel !
The only thing tougher then the car is whatever you’re using to mount your go pro
Thats a wild ride .
How do u stay calm
Damn mate you had a run he came up on ya
I don't know what that other guy was thinking? Looks to me like you gave him more than enough room.
It looked to me like the guy that hit him overcorrected and tank-slapped against him
are your hands/arms strapped to the harness as well ?
Yes, arm restraints strapped to seat belts
What engines are these cars using and what is the car classified as?

Head and neck restraint
Non existent
Where tf was his hans
Watch it again he does have a hans on it just ripped the posts off but he for sure wasn't tight in the belts
Looks like several safety failures in that crash. Glad he's ok ...
Thanks Terry
His hans had broke that’s very bad
Been there done that…that’ll rattle your grits!
Get a Bell helmet and be well next time
ouch
0:53 looked really bad with neck..
No Hans? Poor head and neck took a nasty jolt.
Had a hans... the post was broken out of the helmet during the crash. Neck hurt alot after crash for 1-2 weeks
@@BrentFox91 you should get a hybrid devise I have one and never had a problem
PDB Simpson hybrids are where it’s at for me. It’s just I’ve had no problems with them!
@@BrentFox91 Watching that a couple of times, there is no way that HANS post should have pulled out. Makes me think the post was improperly installed.
