- Food Pantry Haul & Meal video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.
Food Bank Hauls & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing!
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!

I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each country has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.
WHAT IS IN A FOOD PANTRY BOX?
All types of food!
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FOOD BANK?
They go by how much money you make in most cases. They also consider how many people are in your household. If you live alone, you can still apply and still get help. The first step is apply to see if you qualify.

@jacki6301 Yes, it fit, yay! Thank you the food pantry is a blessing! They coordinate with "high-end" grocery stores and I'm so glad for all they offer. I am able to eat better because of them.
Mr. turtle needs a winter coat so he won’t get the flu. I would’ve got the chairs and if anything you could’ve use them for your table. They were nice chairs.❤

It was in the upper 60's here in Chesterfield, VA on Sunday. We had over 3 inches of rain, 30-40 mph wind and then we got 1/2 inch of snow Monday morning. We are supposed to get more rain this coming Sunday and more wind. I think Mr. Turtle needs a Santa hat on! That salmon looks delicious! I want to try Chai tea, I hear it tastes really good.

The salmon salad was yummy, would make it again. I like all types of teas and Chai tea is a good one, especially with milk or creamer! I hope you stay toasty warm as we approach the Winter season!

@CareFreeLivingChannel I use compost tea to help my plants thrive. I mostly grow veggies. Combine veggie/yard scraps in water in a bucket with a lid. Let steep till its stinky (10 to 14days). Use a small amount when watering about every 10 days. You will see a difference within a cpl days of giving to your plants

We had a little snow here in Michigan a few weeks ago but gone now. My sister gave me some of that Chai tea it is really good. I enjoy all your videos.

Getting that snow was a neat surprise, and the temperatures have not been bad, it's about 32 degrees right now and my home is pretty warm, thank God! The back door weather stripping is helping. That was a great haul! No snow here in Georgia. I bought sweet granola bars this week. And a ceaser salad kit. Yummy stuff!

Why don't you have your man take the frig outside and use the hose to give it a good cleaning. It will work a lot better and make sure you don't have it to high. Love watching you. Would love to see you make a stew or use the meat more

The Schmidt's brand deodorant used to be really good. It was the only more natural brand that actually worked for me. It seems like the formula changed or something a couple of years ago because it does not work as well since then. It's sad because I bought a case of it at a liquidation store at a great price.
@regularmompantrylife2587 The deodorant has a pleasant smell, and that's a big win, but I think you're right it just did not work that great. Probably good in Winter if low activity, definitely not summer though! I'm thinking of re-working the Schmidt's and making a hybrid deodorant with it! If I try that, I'll let you know how it works and maybe you could do the same, if interested. That way the product won't be a "loss"!

The snow really surprised me because I expected rain and heard it throughout the night, but then woke up to a winter wonderland! It was a pleasant surprise!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel I like less sweet desserts too. I’m trying to give up sugar to decrease my inflammation. I had a gout episode recently and that was enough to convince me!
@carolklein9499 You make a great point! Sugar and inflammation seem to be a problem for many and I love desserts, but have to be careful because sugar can be addictive for me!

I got pastries for the first time today raspberry something and apple something. Had to give away the mac and cheese it had sulphates. I got organic canned mushrooms. OMB organics taste so much better and ground lamb and some chicken. put the mushrooms in tuna fish casserole and ate too much haven't been cooking much or eating much lately. I threw away my yogurt it was a week past due date and had no good bacteria for my gut health. I have ground Lamb don't know what to do with that and come chicken i don't know if they are thighs or breasts. they are frozen together. Oh and a bereaved family gave us ham and sweet potatoes in remembrance of a food pantry worker that passed
@laurac5451 You got some great items, yay! I love lamb. You could saute your lamb and add diced sweet potatoes, that would be yummy! I'm glad you were able to get the organic items, too, that is always a treat! I'm sorry to hear about the food pantry worker that passed. What a blessing their family provided additional items in their loved one's memory, that's very kind. I'm happy your food pantry is blessing you with all of the wonderful items!

It's a huge upgrade from where I started. I do love my little trailer, it's a wonderful home for me, not perfect but still wonderful!

Merry Christmas Sarah! You are really talented to turn an office trailer into a nice decorative home. And your food pantry salads and meals are impressive. I live in a part of the country affected by tornadoes and severe storms. Also, my apt. building can lose power. It seems you live in a somewhat isolated location. Do you have an emergency plan in place if your power goes out? I pray there are close neighbors, friends or family that you could stay with in such a situation. God Bless!
@ramellecollins3069 Merry Christmas to you! Thank you so much, I enjoy decorating and putting together plates of food! My home may be small, but I love my little trailer. You're right to have a backup plan in case power goes out. I can always pack up and leave if need be. The last time power went out, it got pretty cold, and quickly. That's what got me more interested in preparedness because I was not at all prepared for it. I've been building my supply of blankets from the thrift store and that's been wonderful. Also, I buy secondhand wool sweaters to stay warm. I've recently added a hot water bottle to my supplies which is very nice to have in case my heat acts up.

@ramellecollins3069 Thank you, yes, everyone needs a back up plan just in case something happens! I'm always looking to improve, and preparedness is important. This time of year with colder weather upon us, gets me thinking more about the heat and what to do if it goes out. Securing more blankets was kind of a big deal for me. I did not have enough when I moved here. Shopping at the thrift store has really helped get me stocked up. Moving into a trailer educated me on a different kind of cold when the power went out! Wool is my friend for sure.
If it helps, Schmidt does not work on me unless I use the more manly scents or the charcoal. However, I much prefer native or lumie as they work much better with my body chemistry.
I am using homemade deodorant and it works pretty well! The cost of deodorant is very high these days.

@hoosierpioneer Yes, after you are done with the baking soda, I'd shake it out then vacuum the boots!
Do you have any kind of freezer for your meats?
@peggyaustin5238 My mini-fridge has a freezer up top. It's about 1 cubic foot. I'm looking into another mini-fridge to have more space I just don't know where I could put it in the trailer, unless I replaced the one I have now.

@hoosierpioneer I think the mini fridge has to have air flow around it, but maybe a cabinet could be built so there could still be an "air gap". I'll need to look at the installation instructions to see what the recommendation is around the fridge. But I like your idea!
