Ppl wer nicer and kinder to ea othr back then. They wer mor respectful friendlier and caring. Those wer the Depression and war yrs. It made ppl mor humble and appreciative evn for simpler things. U read, hesr from ppl who lived this era and through movies. Life was simpler back then. I am now 76 and hav mor time to contemplate. Ive alwsys enjoyed Payne and Colbert. She retired and moved to Caribbean wher she lived out her days. Lots of ppl came to visit her....including Nancy Reagan, Pres wife. Cute wholesome movie. Nice change from my regular mystery/thrillers. 👍
@@terrydarhkthey are 74… let them type how they want. They could have severe arthritis in their hands making it difficult and painful to type. We are lucky enough to hear from someone who is 74, in any way they can express themselves, so you should be more respectful.
@@terrydarhk what a comment from someone who lives reading ROFL, LOL, CYA, KMA - like that's literature! IKR! If It's not your shorthand, it ain't literate? Back in the day, we had far fewer intolerant narcissists, which is why we remember those days so fondly.
SUCH A WONDERFUL FILM...SO MANY LESSONS TO BE LEARNED AND REMEMBERED HERE. FAAMILIES NEIGHBOURS , SCHOOL TEACHERS WHO ACTUALLY CARED FOR THE EDUCATION AND WELFRE OF THEIR PUPILS..SOLDIERS TEARING THEIR LOVELIVES ADN FAMILIES APART HAVING TO GO OFF TO WAR TO DEFEND PEACE OF OTHER NATIONS...GENUINE POLITICIANS BROUGHT UP ON GOOD SOLID VALUES...MATERIALISTICALLY WE HAVE EVERYTHING....BUT DEAR GOD WHAT WE HAVE LOST. lEST WE FORGET.
Oh boy song Till We Meet Again gets me every time n also it was in Tomorrow is Forever love the tear jerkers 😥 The veryThought of You is another must see
I was asked to do housekeeping for her on Fire Island pines, new York when she was doing a play on Broadway 1975 I think may have been another year a Mrs. Levi a real estate broker. I asked for to much and I didn't get to do it. I regret it to this day at 83 years old!
Plot- Presidential candidate Dewey Roberts (John Sheppard) is about to address his supporters at a banquet in Washington, D.C. In the audience, Roberts' childhood teacher, Nora Trinell (Claudette Colbert), is waiting to greet him and is reminiscing about her years educating the impressionable young Roberts. Nora reflects back on her marriage to fellow teacher Dan Hopkins (John Payne) and to his ill-fated decision to fight for the Canadian army in World War I.
I can never understand why they excluded the Native Indians and African Americans. It sure makes the language used in allegiance to a call for unity was not able to provide justice for all.
Claudette was a beautiful talented star ⭐
I treasure this story. It's full of sweetness. Good thing they wrapped the sad part in happiness.
Thanks so much!!
My special teacher was Mrs. Dorothy Butler. 5th grade was like a Bachelors Degree!

The list of actors had a Paul Harvey, same nam and prriod. Can't help but wonder.
Good movie.
Pity would be presidential candidates today cannot have honestly, decently and compassion for all. Instead of hatred and greed.
Only Trump fails in every category.
I can never understand why they excluded the Native Indians and African Americans. It sure makes the language used in allegiance to a call for unity was not able to provide justice for all.
It is the cutest film!
Loved it TY❤😊
