- In this GCP Sketchnote, I sketch a quick overview of Google Cloud Databases across relational, non-relational and in-memory databases.
You will learn to pick a database from based on your use case:
Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Bigtable, Firestore, Memorystore and Bare Metal solution.

like your positivity, great content and well structured presentations! many thanks!
Like all the things that you do it's awesome. Ty Priyanka 🙏
Great video with examples
I was having some issues understanding what is each database is used for exactly and some of the online videos are not that organized when It comes to explaining the materials. Your video was very helpful to me. I totally understood everything and you made it all make sense and easy to understand. I highly appreciate you for this content. KEEP ON GOING. Your delivery is great, smooth and very clear.
you should name the channel : The Cloud Super Girl!!!
Thank you so much for you effort!
amazing video about Google Cloud Databases
Damn this was great and helpful for my Google pro architecture cert exam
AWESOme video!
Hi Priyanka, I'm preping for the CDL certification exam, and I have a question. Isn't BigQuery considered a SQL, OLAP database options as well? Thanks!
Yes but BigQuery is a data warehouse, using it as a database can work but not recommended. The recommended use is for analytics processing but not as a database, its considered more of a data storage as a warehouse.
@Edwin Nin Rather than having a separate DataLake platform many organizations leverage the BQ storage layer as their datalake platform. The true serverless nature (full separation of storage and compute) and built-in fine grained access control with unlimited scalability made BQ their choice of DataLake platform. This reduces the operational overhead (eg. using several CI/CD tools to tie disparate systems together).
You missed BigQuery in this list. Although, its a Data Warehouse, but it would have been better if we could learn about it in the same video. However, a great video indeeed. Thanks!
Agree about BigQuery but I was trying to keep this focussed on just the databases. But I see how it might have been useful to cover it briefly here too. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Thanks Madam, it is very informative. Very frequently I watched your videos. When you refer/say "Write" it comes as "right"
Any pointers on when to prefer Spanner over BigTable
Hi Priyanka, Thank you for helping me in the GCP cert preparation. Just curious how did you make these nice looking sketches ?
Yes, I did!
295th...Thanks
Is there a documentation to move oracle rac to google cloud?
Yes checkout cloud.google.com/vmware-engine/docs/vmware-ecosystem/howto-oracle-rac
@@pvergadia This document is for deploying new Oracle RAC on cloud. We are looking for RAC migration from on-Prem to Google cloud. Is there a lift and shift method for RAC ?
