Every application needs to store data. Different applications and workloads demand additional storage and database solutions. There are two products among GCP's core storage options: Cloud SQL and Cloud Spanner.
📌 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐒𝐐𝐋 ► Cloud SQL is a fully-managed database service that 💁 helps you set up, maintain, operate, and administer your relational databases on Google Cloud Platform.
📌 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 ► Spanner is a distributed relational database service that runs on ☁️ Google Cloud. It is ⚙ designed to support global online transaction processing deployments, SQL semantics, highly available horizontal scaling, and transactional consistency.
🤔 Should I choose Cloud SQL instead of Cloud Spanner?
💡 There are many similarities between these offerings in that they both support strong consistency and SQL syntax for querying the database. However, the two products are at 📃 different levels of maturity.

Regarding storage capacity you have mentioned about limitation of 30 TB but it is now 64 TB initially and 250 GB by default while creating MS SQL Database.
Please check the answer👇
Yes, that is right; it is updated in March, 2023 only. The default storage size for Cloud SQL instances running on MySQL or PostgreSQL is 10GB, with a maximum storage capacity of 64TB. The default storage size for cloud SQL instances running on SQL Server is 250GB, with a maximum storage capacity of 64TB. This only pertains to second-generation instances, as SQL Server does not presently support third-generation instances.
Thanks

Good content but the white board can be better :)
well explained.
Thanks for the feedback.

Google cloud Spanner is better if your company is mid size and potentially getting large. Also keep in mind Google BigQuery as the company gets bigger.
Google SQL is great for small companies. Think mom & pop restaurants for online orders or small scale manufacturing company.
