I need help. I installed one of these on a v star 950. First day out and I'm getting sputtering at idle RPM and an increase in idle rpm. IDK what to do.

Saul Ramlal I don't understand why people post and never responded to problems people have. I am not trying to pass myself off as a professional bike guy but to it seems that you took the balance of fuel, air and exhaust when you installed the air intake filter. Now your engine is probably running too lean and that's why it's looking cool but not running good. You have to remove it or upgrade the fuel management with something like a power command that allows you to make it run richer and a exhaust that allows you to get rid of the combustion faster out of your engine. The guy that made the video failed to mention that to you. Good luck with your project

@@luisp1174 Luis you are right, power commander is usually needed. Last carbed bike was my ACE and I added this, power commander, rejetted along with V&H's. Yamaha 1300, EFI, power commander added, pipes later date. VTX had pipes, commander and jetted, same day. This was just a basic install video without the full extent.

@@Raje617 What does a power commander do for you on a carbed bike?

    What happens when it rains

They have special "rain suits" for them. $20, very effective. I won't have any other intake on a bike. Third one and extremely happy. :-)

Really?... You have to carry around a cover to put on it when it rains?... I really like the way this looks, but that is a dealbreaker for me. My bike is kept outside and I ride in the rain all the time.
