The suspension is the most expensive mod, I believe that it was around $1200. However it transformed the bike. Everything else was pretty low budget. I got most of the items on Amazon a little at a time.
Nice XT250. I've got that same ATV Logic bag on my XT250. I heard that you can use super tenere footpegs. Guessing you had to build your seat concepts seat since they don't sell a completed one. I see you also took off the front fender guard. I'm running that same richochet skid plate. Cheers!
I had a single LED lamp like yours on my dual sport. On my road bike I used two 3" LEDs mounted to the forks. The 2 light setup is much better. It casts a wide beam and looks better. If I still owned the dual sport I would switch.
Nice. They look like relevant upgrades- I think I would personally ditch the pack on the front mud guard, looks like it compromises the headlight too much for my preferences. I think I’m going to complete pretty much the same package myself, could I ask what those upgrades all cost please ?
I have the front fender bag on mine as well. There isn't a noticeable difference in headlight performance even though it is partially blocked. It's not very much weightbut with as much stuff as I haul even just moving that couple pounds to the front helps.
So was the mid suspension sold for the XT250 exclusively or did you just find a swap out part? When I last researched this bike I never saw anyone who had changed the suspension which was surprising since I would guess it's a little soft? What about the front suspension, is there anything that can be done or is it alright? But you're the 1st that said they did anything w/ the suspension. Nice look, peace
How much would all of this add up to? I have a stock 2022 xt250 and contemplating making it like this one or dropping it for a more aggressive dirt bike or a street bike
I used Rustoleum, It holds up well. I have had small areas flake off a little if i crash hard and flex the platsic too much. But I just spray another coat over the area and it's perfect again.
Out of curiosity, how tall are you and did that affect your purchase of this bike vs something with a taller seat? I like the XT250, but at 6'1" and 200lbs, I'm wondering about comfort level on longer rides.
I'm 5'7 and 200 lbs. The seat height had a lot to do with my decision. If I was taller I would have preferred looked at a DRZ400. The top speed is about 65mph so I stay off of the interstate. The bike is very comfortable especially with the seat concepts seat and the bar risers. At 200 lbs the new suspension is a game changer for me.
@@louistortorich332 Thanks, Louis. That is helpful. I'm a newer rider, and I know the advice is "Just ride a bunch of bikes and see what you like." But people can learn their preferences over long periods and a lot of riding. I know the DRZ400 has a lot of fans. I'll bump that up on my options. Best of luck!
@@louistortorich332 I'm 5'7" as well. The bike is the perfect height. Interested in your tail tidy ( never heard of it ) ? and also and the license plate holder. BTW, your top speed should be well in the 70's stock. You should be able to do 60 to 65 on the highway with the bike singing a bit but not wound out. Problem is you don't have a lot left if need be. I've done 74 and that wasn't wound tight. If you stay off interstates you could go for a 14T front sprocket. Dollar for dollar it was the best mod I made on this bike.. If I were taller and richer I'd have a KTM 300 2 stroke..
My big items are a MSR Freelite 2 tent, Big Agnes Q core deluxe sleeping pad, Kelty cosmic 20 down bag, 2 sea to summit pillows. Small folding chair and trekology table. Propane stove and small cook kit. Various other small items to be comfortable always find their way in as well..
@@louistortorich332 Make sure you have tools with you on that one from what I've read. Down on power from the XT250 as well.. Might be better just to buy a used XT250 rather than mess with China clone..
That is an OUTSTANDING build! Very purposeful and deliberate in the decisions you made. Very impressive.
I dig the paint job, it has a military aesthetic to it.
Right? I was also looking at it and perhaps I will paint my XT225 something like that one.
It looks awesome. It looks very solid and ready for itchy boots adventures.
HEATED GRIPS? Shhhewwwwww I love this build. Ready to get myself outfitted. I own a 94 XT 225 and I'm in awe of it everytime I ride.
I wanted an XT225 for the 6th gear alone man..... A tall 6th gear on the 250 would let road travel be a bit safer. peace

I would go with a led headlight instead of the HID, Easier install and cheaper .

Trackmasters are awesome- i just installed Klassics because the rear Trackmaster was backordered
Love your build! Would it be possible to share a link on your tool tube and how you installed it?
Great job like that paint!

Where did you get the shock from? I'd like to upgrade my suspension and shocks are hard to find in Australia.
I ordered it from Cogent Dynamics
Thanks for sharing 👍.
Do you have any spot where you posted the links to these upgrades? I have a tan xt as well and love this look!!
great colour😊
Nice setup! Was it difficult to wire in the spotlight?
Not at all.
Even an Ironworker can do it.. : )
I really like your bike! Any good vids on trail?
Not many, I need to get better at bringing my gopro
Sweet bike, that's doomsday ready
Luv it, I’m inspired 💪
Looks suspiciously like a Michigan State Spartan Logo on front fender.. Go Spartans!

Where did you get the fender eliminator and rack? Also the mirrors!
Hi can you tell me where you got the headlight guard from? Cool bike love your setup
Thanks,
The headlight guard came from amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXWTKGL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
The EYE OF GOD 😆😅🤣 I want on of thoese, I'll remember that
What rear fender how did you do the tail tidy? Where did you find the light????
Search for XT250 tail tidy.
Ebay has them for 15 -20 bucks..

The bag on the back rack what kind is it I really like it and the clips you use for it?
It is just a inexpensive tactical sling bag from Amazon that I attached with heavy duty zip ties.
How big is your gas tank? How many miles can you ride on a fuel tank?
Standard 2.6 gallon rank. About a 200 mile range

@@vandogtrailer6701 the DRZ has a lot more power to go with the taller seat. As long as you are careful with the throttle you would probably be ok.

Look up ATV tank saddle bags on Amazon
They are about $20

Will the foam not melt under the engine down there between the skid plate? Sorry, dumb question!!
No, the engine does not get hot enough.
There is foam that is sold just for this purpose.

Seat Concepts.
