Hi Shawna, I really love this idea & am looking forward to making some of these, along with many of your other genius ideas. In fact I am going to do the crackle technique with metal leaf & the playdough technique today, since I managed to get those supplies & have the day to myself.
I just wanted to mention, for anyone who doesn’t have an acrylic block, or photo paper, that an acrylic CD case can be used instead, to hold the gel plate for stamping with, because I have made stamps from the clear stamping sheets that were available for ScanNCut & Cricut electronic cutters to cut your own stamps, & they are very similar to gel plates.
Thank you so much for being so inspiring.🏆🥇💗

You just exponentially increased my gel plate stash….i will need another room to store it all….🤣 Absolutely simply brilliant! You’re such a clever crafter, Thank you for this!!! 🤩🙌🏼🌸

Awesome! Good luck :) Its been a couple of years since I made these and they are still good! I just store them in plastic bins and they keep really well.

    Hi,
Thanks for this great tutorial. I will try to make my own too. Can you give some detail please for microwaving, how long and how high the grade should be? The other question, how long does it last and how should I keep it?

Hi there! So, I have another video on my channel here ua-cam.com/video/sOLcVhbFjxI/v-deo.html that gives a bunch more detail on how to make the gelatin portion of the plates. But - the microwaving time will vary depending how strong your machine is but I did 30 second increments x 3 (so 90 seconds total) stirring in between. I have an 1800W microwave oven. Also, they have kept about a year so far but I have older ones as well. I just dump them all in a plastic bin with a top. They will dry out and start to harden if they are kept in open air. Hope that helps! :)
