  • Cabbage cutlet tastes better than meat! Easy and delicious cabbage recipe! Delicious and easy vegan recipe anyone can make at home! You will be surprised how tasty this recipe with cabbage is!     🧑‍🍳Cooking tip:
    ❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to get your favourite flavour.
    🥣Ingredients and recipe:
    Cut 1 white cabbage into wedges or slices.
    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    Add cabbage.
    Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
    Chop 1 onion.
    Transfer the chopped onion into a greased frying pan and sauté until translucent.
    Finely chop 100g | 10oz mushrooms.
    Add mushrooms to the onion. Fry for about 3-5 minutes.
    Drain the water and cool cabbage.
    Mash cooked cabbage with a hand blender.
    Transfer mashed cabbage to a mesh bag or sieve.
    Squeeze the liquid.
    Add mushrooms and onion mixture.
    Combine with 3tbsp semolina or fine corn meal.
    Add 3tbsp chickpea crumbs or bread crumbs.
    Add salt to taste, black pepper and chopped fresh dill.
    Transfer patties mixture to the fridge for 10 minutes.
    Roll the mixture into balls and gently squeeze down to flatten into patties.
    Place patties into a lightly greased frying pan.
    Fry on a medium heat covered with a lid for about 3-5 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.
    Flip to the other side and fry another 3-5 minutes.
    Enjoy these delicious veg patties with cabbage for lunch or dinner! 💕

    I'm going to make those - thank you!
    I do have to add that I'm going to use extra virgin olive oil, as opposed to "vegetable" oil that is highly inflammatory (initial processing uses an industrial solvent - and the rest of the process leads to a terribly unhealthy product). In addition, I'll switch the "flour", which I assume is wheat, to almond flour. This is to avoid the gluten (and other lectins in the flour), in addition to the higher carb content and likely residue from spraying with glyphosate.

    Thank you for this recipe. I just made this recipe and it is absolutely delicious!! I made one pattie and once I was finished I had to make myself another one. I had both in a burger bun with a slice of tomato and some onions. To die for delicious! I will make another batch in a few days so I can freeze and have often.

    Nice! Have you ever tried it with red cabbage? I'd need to swap out the semolina/corn with something else, chickpea or buckwheat flours maybe?

      Hello! I have not tried it with the red cabbage. I think it should work fine! The colour will be different but I think it should be as tasty! Good idea to substitute semolina for chickpea flour or buckwheat flour! I love both! Buckwheat is one of my favourite foods! Have a nice day! 😊💖

      Hello Helene! 🌷 Thank you for your comment and nice to see you again! To make the sauce add chopped dill, pinch of salt and some chilli flakes to plant based yogurt or sour cream.
      Alternatively you can make tzatziki sauce - mix dairy free yoghurt, a bit of salt and pepper, minced garlic, grated cucumber and chopped parsley or dill.

      ¡Hola y bienvenido de nuevo! Recomiendo una de las siguientes salsas:
      1. Agregue eneldo picado, una pizca de sal y algunas hojuelas de chile al yogur a base de plantas o crema agria y mezcle.
      2. Salsa tzatziki: mezcle yogur sin lácteos, un poco de sal y pimienta, ajo picado, pepino rallado y perejil o eneldo picado.

      Hello! 🤗 Thank you for your comment and visiting my cooking channel! 🙏 To make chickpea crumbs you need to soak dry uncooked chickpeas in water for about 18- 24hrs. Then add the soaked chickpeas in to food processor and pulse it but not to puree. Then spread the chickpeas on baking tray and bake them for about 20 minutes. Then transfer the baked chickpeas in to food processor ones again and pulse it again a little bit. Store chickpea crumbs in a glass airtight container for cooking your delicious food. You can substitute chickpea crumbs for bread crumbs but I usually make chickpea crumbs as I like them a lot and use in different dishes. Thank you ones again and have a wonderful day! 🌞🌷💕

      Hallo! Freut mich, dass dir das Rezept gefällt! Ich habe es noch nicht probiert, denke aber, dass es auch mit Chinakohl funktionieren sollte. Ich denke, man muss Chinakohl nicht kochen und kann ihn etwa 10 Minuten lang in heißem kochendem Wasser einweichen, das sollte reichen. Ich wünsche Ihnen eine schöne Woche! 😊 💖

    Hi have you tried this with chickpea flour? I grew up vegetarian and we used besan (chick pea flour) not crumbs for all our homemade veggie burgers.

      Hello! Thank you for your comment! I have not tried it with the chickpea flour and use semolina or fine corn meal as it's better absorbs the moisture. I use home made chickpea crumbs for this recipe as I love them and try to add to as many recipes as possible. I think if you make it with chickpea flour it should also work fine! I love chickpea flour and this is my favourite four (gluten free, nutritional, high in protein etc). Thank you ones again! Wishing you a nice day! 😊 💖

      Hello! thanks for your question. To make chickpea crumbs, you need some canned chickpeas in a blender. then spread the mixture out on a sheet of parchment and bake for 15 minutes. once done, blend again and you have a chickpea crumb❤️🥰👋

      @@WeCookVegan I have cooked for many years and it takes longer to soften white cabbage. Maybe possibly 5 in boiling and left to rest in residual heat?
      Anyhow... any more good Vegan cabbage dishes? I eat everything, but do at least 2 days a week meat free for enviro reasons and health. 😃 My meat & dairy choices do limit me to little supermarket stuff......

    Please know that you should be frying on avocado or olive oil. Vegetable oils are inflammatory and using them undermine eating healthy vegan meal.
