@@Qardofunnily enough, I don’t remember the exact quote from Cains first book “For The Emperor” but he talks about how The Emperor Protects and how he finds that “The Emperor takes much greater care to protect those who take greater measures to protect themselves.” He says this as he’s inside an armored truck and he is in the middle seat so not only does he have the metal doors protecting him but also sitting between two people who are acting as unknowing body shields lmao

I mean, they did sort of start out as warrior concubines.
Some of them STILL ARE. There is a lot of lore on the Sisters tucked away in the old magazines. They have a lot of different devotions on many temple worlds. Some of the saints were all about protecting the men from temptation, one of the ways was to ensure they got regular enough sex. Thus groups of sisters from that temple planet were always sent alongside any guard regiments the temple world fielded. The sisters were fully trained, and they fought alongside the regiment. They also ALL had their wombs removed so they could never get pregnant.
Basically, the sisters have a lot more variations than the main ones they actually have rules for on the table top.

Having been in the military I can 100% say those troops have posters of Sister Waifu's on their walls
The Sororitas also tend to be the ones patching Guardsmen up in the field hospitals in many cases, they have a major medical wing. That's gonna get them a bunch of extra points on top of what they already have going for them.

@@rossato2109 Foge Vandire used it as a way to circumvent the rule that the ecclesiarchy can't have MEN in arms as their private army, so he got a bunch of zealot fanatic women to be his rebellion's private military group, he also used them as concubines. That group went on to see the folly of their ways and betray the chaos corrupted priest/planetary lord. They got turned into the nuns with guns after that and became fanatics for the right truth in the galaxy. I'd look up the actual story or watch adeptus ridiculous because it's cooler than I make it out to be
@@rossato2109 Yeah, Goge Vandire was responsible for this and many, many other sketchy and/or terrible things. They promptly merc'd him when informed of the depth of his crimes. I don't think the Sisters even bothered to complain, they just got rid of him.

Space Marines need several levels of genetic and cybernetic enhancements to wield power armor and bolters. The Sisters of Battle can do both with nothing but their sheer faith in the Emperor alone.

@@rossato2109 actually since they don’t have the “black carapace”, which is a sub-dermal full body interface that allows Space Marines to essentially connect their power armor directly to their nervous systems, power armor actually inhibits their natural mobility. And while it does increase their strength it doesn’t provide the aim assist and automatic recoil compensation usually considered all but essential to wield a bolt weapon
They do use weaker bolters that are smaller with smaller rounds but it is still extremely impressive that they are capable of firing those bolters at high fire rates.
Not nearly as effectively though. They lack a black carapace.

So I guess Space Marines aren't the only ones who get the religious levels of myth and folklore spread around them. Then again it also makes sense why crewmen on void ships would feel like this is because there's often thousands to tens of thousands of them especially on Imperial Navy ships living in their own little worlds. So they fear and/venerate the Sororitas based on port to port hearsay that they can probably never really verify for themselves 🤷🏾♂️😂. Pretty much every Sister of Battle to them is a walking scene Celestine/Living Saint just like how every Space Marine is like the right hand of the Emperor in their face as “his angels” unless they're part of the traitor legions.

Yay! Sororitas lore! I just don't like the very overused white hair and sameness of the orders.
Each Order is WILDLY different, and white hair is common, but not forced on battle sisters (It's a way of honoring their founders' memory). They are rappresented always with the Order of Our Martyred Lady color scheme cuz it's their cover art xD Just like you always see Ultramarines with space marines.

It is true that current battle sisters are based on that AWESOME John Blanche art, but, in lore, it is a way of honoring their past in some way, and It's more common for the Order of Our Martyred Lady, but it never got a lore explanation sadly, so it's safe to assume it was Alicia Dominica, since I'm not sure if her hair after encountering Big E was ever described....I mean, we don't have much about the Age of Apostasy! I WANT MORE!
