    Great video to keep people safe!! As I'm sure you and many people know, IF ya muck this up it can mean your boat sinks!! And that ain't no good nowhere, especially if you're out offshore on uninhabited islands! Necessary knowledge for being a safe and responsible fisherman!!

    I think I need to draw a diagram.... Can’t wait to try this. I thought dual anchors was the way to go?

      haha, Nah it'll detract from the views if they look like they know that they are doing. Denis, Briggsy and Turtle have good fishing content, but its when they go all Russel Coight with their Camping, Anchoring, Boating and Towing shenanigans that the view count really climbs. So many youtubers doing staged survival missions, while these guys really do sink their boat with all their safety gear onboard, and have no idea how to use their sat phone! They were super fortunate to have those yachties nearby that basically coordinated their entire rescue for them, and supplied them with food. Had to laugh at the end when they returned the brown rice because they were picky with the food supplies given to them.

    Hey mate. Can you tell me if you need to leave much slack line on both the bow and stern lines to allow for the rise and fall of the tide? Obviously you will on the anchor float but unsure about the other two lines. Cheers for any info.

    • @GTBUSTER
      @GTBUSTER  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry for the delayed response mate
      I have it fairly tight mate but it will have a bit of a bow in it
      Bigger tidal areas like central Qld and NT you might allow a bit more

    G'day Buster, had a few close calls in croc waters. Video is great. Just curious to know how much rope you use from the chain to the ball?

    • @GTBUSTER
      @GTBUSTER  2 роки тому

      Depends on the depth of the water and how big the tides are mate, but usually just a couple of metres. You just want to have the chain fairly long and touching the bottom as much as possible

      You can let the rear rope out some more so the rear will swing back and point the nose to the waves

    Our new boat first time out yesterday. Didn’t watch how to anchor and the kids didn’t want to swim onto shore. I beached it with the boat literally sideways right up on shore. Well, shore isn’t all nice sandy beach, it had small fist sized rocks here and there. My dumb ass leaves boat sideways along shore and when some waves came from other boaters going by, it rocked the boat side to side. When I got home, looked at bottom and the whole keel was scratched, and two areas on the side nearest shore, rubbed on some rocks and scratched the crap out of the hull paint of the boat. So pissed at myself! No dent, no structural issues cuss it didn’t slam onto anything, just rocked side to side on fist sized rocks, so very bad scratches, and some paint chipped off, thumb sized paint chips and scratched paint in large area bout meter squared. Urghhhh!! 😢😢
