Yeah, it goes up almost exponentially. When you realize just how gifted you have to be to be a D-1 athlete, and the guys that even make the pros were guys that made average D-1 athletes look like bad athletes. Then legends like these that make average pros look like bad athletes.

A man so strong he broke his own hip trying to yank his leg up to take the next step while a tackler was holding his feet together. His leg muscles managed to not so much as pull his leg out of socket but break the socket itself off of the rest of his hip.
The missed one freak of nature. That freak of nature is the best running back ever. You really need to watch Barry Sanders 50 best runs. Nobody changed direction like Sanders. He made the best players look like rookies.

I saw them both--Jim Brown was the GOAT, not Barry. But Barry is the most elusive back ever and would be no. 2 or tied with Payton for no. 2.
Barry's size was part of the high difficulty in tackling him. 5'8 and low center of gravity. Speed IS power.
They are all gifted but they put in an unimaginable amount of work. While high school snd college parties happened, they were working out their whole lives.
I don't actually agree with this. There are many players that worked much harder than these guys and didn't even make it to the NFL. You think Randy Moss and Deion Sanders were just staying home working on their abilities rather than going out and having fun? The true hardest workers in NFL history didn't make this list (ie players like Jerry Rice, who was the greatest of all time at his position despite not being as physically gifted as players on this list: Megatron and Moss).
@@jesses5463 there's always outliers but don't get it twisted. Megatron had to work his ass off. He went to Georgua Tech because Bama, Georgia, Ohio State didn't think he was good enough. Thinking these guys just cruised to NFL stardom on natural ability without working their asses off is just silly. Also, Walter Payton had the best work ethic I've ever seen. Rice was crazy but go look up Paytons daily workout routune.

Calvin Johnson is still the biggest athletic freak to me. Talk about having the perfect mixture of strength, size, speed, and quickness. There was nobody in history better molded for the NFL. Even a modern equivalent like DK Metcalf, while he has the size and speed, didn’t have the jumping or receiving ability that Megatron had.
Calvin Johnson a.k.a Megatron was really a bonafide STUD coming to the NFL because he was a 1st Round 2nd overall pick Georgia Tech University Yellow Jacket in the 2007 NFL Draft selected by the Detroit Lions but he didn't disappoint there will never be another one like him now he's a Pro Football Hall Of Famer living his best life too! 10:00

@@lt.spears1889 did you not see Wilt Chamberlain? Or even Herschel Walker? Not to take away from Bo Jackson. But with Wilt you have a 7 footer with actual recorded times that were on Olympic levels. Running, shot put, multiple jumping events all at elite levels. Again at 7 foot and he is in multiple sports hall of fame. Bo was not gonna make either sports hall of fame even if he didn't get injured. A pro bowler who didn't break 1k yards not to mention his ability to strick out. He made great highlights, and his Outfield throw to home plate for that out is still one of the best I've seen.

I lived in a dorm with a D-3 lineman who never made the NFL but he could have . Cool dude, and he looked sloppy but he was athletic AF. He was 6'3" and 300 lb, and incredibly quick. When we played intramural flag football, he took my head off without even trying. Just a giant, and gifted.
We called him Neck, due to his apparent lack of a neck.
Randy Moss was one of those players who just made a big impact in the 1998 year in the 1998 NFL Draft he was a 1st Round 21st pick by Minnesota Vikings out of Marshall he was a hand full with Speed his Hands his EndZone Celebrations but he is was and always will be a Super Freak Super Freak of a athlete no question about it! 4:20

I've seen at least five different reaction channels where people say they love the US and want to visit, and there of those have. I've never seen any of them say they're interested in learning about the people of this country by going to cultural festivals of different ethnicities, civil rights museums, etc. 🙁

2:02 there is the ones who are gifted incredible talent, then there is Bo jackson. That’s what makes him so different from everybody else. Only playing 4 years really halted what he would’ve accomplished in the nfl. But in that 4 year span I haven’t seen another players highlights like his. The man literally ran to one side of the field back to the other side then back again and ran for a touchdown. Single greatest highlight I’ve ever seen
I watched Bo Jackson in both Football and Baseball and he was simply unbelievable! You could not believe your eyes at times since he was huge and had unreal speed.
It's too bad his career was cut short with a devastating injury.
Just to clarify, quarterbacks don't necessarily have to be tall/big. The passing yards leader all time is Drew Brees who is 5'10" which is considered short for a quarterback. The Arizona Cardinals QB is Kyler Murray who is 5"9' and he's a top half QB when not injured. Some QBs like Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson are genetic freaks who play a totally different game than others at the same position. However, QBs often aren't the "best athlete" on their team, it's just the most "specialized" position in that you have to have a specific skillset.
Maybe its possible Drew Brees actual flat footed height might be like 5'10 7/8" or something. But he was always listed as 6 foot, so for you to just go rogue and come up with your own height for him is like WTF?
HIstoically prototype QBs need to be tall but that changes as the game evolves. Same thing that you now have small players play WR when back in the day guys of that size would have had next to no chance of making the NFL.

Jim Thorpe, a Native American (Indian) was a great athlete who went on to become head coach of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. In many towns he was forbidden to room with teammates. He persevered and went on to being the best athlete of his generation.

I guess someone like me, seeing, knowing of and being part Native American, (Cherokee and Choctaw) African American, and European American, helps many of us know he is just by looking.
Some people of color say "We can recognize our own", and in my personal experience, it's pretty accurate. Someone may look white to many, but to many others, facial features, undertones of skin color, and hair texture can be quite noticeable and tell that a person is "of color".
Oh please, every white dude around claims to be Cherokee. Jim Thorpe was half white, PERIOD. Stop trying to paint a picture that doesn't exist.

Oh, please. You can't speak for "every white dude", and it's definitely not true that _every_ man who is white claims to be Native American. I've never known anyone in the US who is from Europe, claim to be Native American, but I don't know _every_ man like you do.
Also, if the names are listed within any records to prove someone is of any part Native American, they're seen as such.
There are many people who are half or less and are recognized by their Indigenous people.

Hey fun fact, Bo ripped his hip out of socket. Doctor's at the time didn't even know that was possible. That's how explosive he was.
Bo's hip had to be replaced with an artificial hip. During his recovery, Jackson developed a bone disease called avascular necrosis (AVN).
This video didn't even come close to showing some of Calvin Johnson's best catches. He was incredible, sometimes had 4-5 guys pile on him and he still came out with the ball 😍

Vernon Davis never cared much about football. he was just natural gifted as an athlete. I remember he skipped training to get his interior decoration license.

Kind of surprised to not see Lawrence Taylor on this list. Seems like a super obvious selection, as he is one of very few players that other players were actually terrified of (especially quarterbacks). Maybe it is because, aside from his physicality, cocaine/crack was his super power. Either way, dude was an absolute terror.

Facts, Polamalu was absurdly athletic. You know you have a freak when the opposing offense has to be worried about ands game plan for what you bring. 4.3 speed, hit like a linebacker, has hands like a wide receiver, and the best pure football instincts I’ve ever seen. Extremely difficult to game plan against Troy because he was so intellectual and instinctual.

He was the fastest man in the world by a long shot and played in the NFL for several successful seasons. His world record in the 100 stood for 15 years.
