By contrast the US has a porous northern Border with Canada [5,525 mi /8,891 km] and a porous southern border with Mexico [1,954 mi/3,145 km]. Most immigrants who wish to take up residence dodgily arrive by plane and overstay their visas, though a fair number arrive in Canada first. While UK news sources are better than most major US sources, there are some weak areas, principally immigration, border security and our federal political system.
