Liz Cheyney went out with more than the GOP will be left with... dignity.
I stopped listening when he said that the Republican party is for the working class.
His point was that it has broad support from the working class voters without college education, not that it supported the working class itself.
I think he is right in that it is a party *of* the working class (which is what he said). It is certainly not a party *for* the working class. I live in the deep south of the USA and it bemuses me how totally loyal solid, working class people are to Trump, a man who has been entirely clear that he doesn't care for them at all.
@@martinayton6674
Why are they??
Conflating the anti-Israeli government protests with antisemitism was asinine.
@@barbaraseymour3437 I have very little clue. My poor working theory is that these people hate government, and feel that they have never got anything from it. Government types hate Trump, so the disaffected workers line up behind him as their only chance to destroy what they hate.
Please God let this be the final chapter of Trump. Harris for president. Trump for prison.
The judge in his fraud case, 34 felony convictions, just postponed his sentencing yet AGAIN. We realize though, that Marchan thinks Chump is on the way out, and sending him straight into custody on Nov 26, is so much cleaner than trying to jail him next week. It's actually a good move on the part of the judge.
if they are leaving hin why are the polls so tight?
Geoffrey is one of the most knowledgeable and articulate commentators I have ever heard. A highly intelligent man - it's great to listen to him.
He was also great as the villain in The Fifth Element (just had to make that joke, not trying to take away what he's saying)
How? Is the ruspubliKKKan party doing ANYTHING for the working class in your opinion? 🤔😱
I was particularly struck by this man’s smirk. Few of us find him amusing.
The GOP will take a generation to come back. It will take a while for the Trumpets to age out. It will also take a strong candidate who can appeal across party lines.
TWO generations; people are so stressed due to money and the environment collapsing that there will be no TIME for self reflection. Republican-ism will be discounted for a generation and it will take a whole generation who has no collective memory of this disaster to rebuild something named "Republican."
It will take five or more generations to really delude the political gen pool which actually never has an expiration date. It took MAGA, which has a strong Nixonian area revival feel because of the never ending 20 year-long War on Terror failure compared to the 20 year-long war in Vietnam failure, to never mention Reagan again.

They hate unions, pass “right to work” laws in states that benefit the company, wish to get rid of healthcare options protecting those with pre-existing conditions (aka I have to work HERE because if I leave I can’t get coverage) … and tax cuts? No no, those are for the bosses bosses boss, not for you mere wage earner. Child labor laws, minimum wage laws …. I’m sorry, where’s the republican pro-worker stand on those? DOESN’T EXIST.
You're right, but they are also right as what they're saying is that a lot of his support comes from the working class, which it does, when previously the working class didn't tend to support the Republican party. They've been conned, of course, but that doesn't alter the fact that a lot of his supporters are working class.

Not according to the Polls!
Everything Trump touches ends up in destruction - his businesses, his relationships, etc. He will completely destroy the Republican party - and then merrily move on to his next gig.
Why did you ever support him? What was it about his history of scams, cons, and reality TV game shows that made you think he was qualified to be the president of the United States?
@Digmen1 I'm so glad you figured out Trump IS a liability to the Republican party. Trump is a felon who is draining the Republican coffers dry. The other Republicans who are running for office have no money to campaign on because Trump is spending all the money on himself to pay for his legal expenses. Trump is sending out non-stop emails to his maga supporters begging them to send more money to him! Trump's nothing but a grifter taking advantage of his maga supporters. But hey, like Trump announced at one of his rallies, he loves low educated people.
He doesn't value the campaign process. He has no interest in persuading voters or fighting fair. The RNC and many others are fighting on his behalf.

The word "POLITICS" is a very big word. "Liberal or Conservative" descriptions can cover a lot of ground. Very few people are purely one side or the other. That reality makes it hard to denote whom is whom on occasion. I think most people have a wide range of opinions.

Why has Trump had so much trouble, been unable to find an effective way to "take down" Harris? Part of the explanation is that she doesn't respond, doesn't give personal attacks any oxygen. He preys on insecurities and defensiveness. Harris has experience dealing with predators, understands how they operate, and has locked up more than a few.
