Are we just completely ignoring ISRO launches now? I was looking forward to that high quality cat footage
Blame ISRO
Best thing about Mondays!
Love your videos Matt. Keep up the good work!
i love em too bud
YAY! SPACE THIS WEEK IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!
What are those emojis💀💀
I only see text, not emojis
Ship 28’s heat shield is so clean I love it. Best ship
0:42 oh I thought those were birds on the booster💀🗿🤣
Some very big birds...
I never thought I would actually see New Glenn on the pad. Guess I've been watching Angry Astronaut too much.
You still haven't it's just a fit test.
While it looks like blue origin has at least some of their organizational issues solved, they still have a lot to prove. Before they exit joke status.
Love your videos !!!! Ijust finished the whole velocity lake and adventure woods playlists! I need more Matt planet coaster!!!!! ❤❤
Hi, another great video with beautiful footage!
This is the highlight of my Tuesday morning every week. Thank you Matt.
Great work as always Matt! Makes Mondays great (though I watched this on a tuesday)!
thank you big matte
The best way to wind down on a Monday evening!

Yet another banger
Lets go SpaceX❤❤❤
I've started to wonder: when was the last time a Falcon 9 failed (eg. didn't make it to orbit)? With the rate they launch these things I'm extremely impressed nothing critical has gone wrong for such a long time.
Here at 57 seconds! Amazed at how many people got here before me. I fully expected to be first.
tbf you're the second comment according to my dashboard 😅
@@MattLowne LET'S GOOOOO!! A COMMENT FROM MATT!!!
Love the vids
"space removal demonstration satellite" sounds amusing... I'm guessing you meant "space debris removal"?
But I'm impressed if the satellite's task is to remove space. That sounds challenging!
(for people like me who can't read tone, this is intended to be humorous)
Finally a space organization that is actively developing means to prevent Kessler Syndrome.
NEW GLENNNNNNNN
Hush... Pitchforks may come for you... ;)

I wonder if the SpaceX space based fuel depot will be able to have multiple starship attachments so that 2 or more starships can fill the fuel depot at the same time.
SPACE THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!😀😀😀😀
YES, SPACE NEWS
Seeing people working on the hot staging ring really shows the size of starship
you missed the ISRO launch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Way to stay sharpest, at this point..
I only recently realized that spacex is basically a way for Elon to play ksp in real life
Go space X
woah, thank you. 7:00, what's that about though?
Look up spacex drone ship names
@MattLowne It was one investor with 9 shares of stock. This was another politically motivated lawsuit in the US.

I showed my friend them launching the military satellites

a SpaceX fire supression system should be XFire. as in, it was a fire. an ex fire.
If the first two flights of star ship reached set goals then failed/got aborted then they could be doing shed loads of checks going for full suborbital/orbital flight
Also might have to do several small test to get data for FAA
The goals are set in increments. The whole package is getting to orbit and back, but each flight takes another step closer in that direction but they do not expect 100% success. On flight one they wanted to get off the pad. On flight 2 they wanted to get past staging. On flight 3 they want to get into orbit. Then there will be a bunch of flights where they try and get back from orbit (I suspect that's going to be a tough one). There are also other goals involving booster recovery where they will test with soft ocean landings until ready to move to a landing (or catch) on land. That will start with a successful boost back, then another step.. and then another..
I know that SpaceX wants to launch 144 times in 2024, but they are right now behind track. They have an average of about 1 launch every 3 - 4 days and they need an average of about 1 launch every 2.5 days. They can still change that, but they got to do it soon because the longer they wait, the more they will have to catch up.
I have noticed that SpaceX is now starting to launch in batches. They have a couple launches within an incredibility short time (like those 3 launches in 24 hours) and then the next couple of days there are no launches. Then repeat. It is not always the same, but it is a pattern starting to show. Do you guys think that they will manage the 144 launches this year? I am concerned they might miss it.
Well they did manage to meet their goal during 2022, a goal by the way many said would not be possible. So give them time. I am sure they will make it.
@@robertdrexel2043 I am very certain that they will manage to get 144 flights in a year. The question is if that year is 2024 or 2025 or some other. Right now, they are slightly behind for 2024, but it is not too late. Hopefully you are right and they will make do it in 2024
SpaceX ramps up as the year progresses. They are much closer to their goal for this year than they were at the same time last year for last year's goal and they just barely missed that one. If they do the same thing they did last year then they'll easily reach the goal.

regarding the pay package, you could have mentioned that at the time it was being agreed upon, it was considered ludicrous to ever get realized. only in hindsight after actually achieving the extraordinarily high targets set out by the compensation package, like only starting at the lowest level if market cap grew by a full 100% (in addition to other metrics), can it seem excessive. perhaps it should be taken into account, that this was a high risk high reward situation and disregarding the riskiness after the outcome has already materialized is simply being dishonest.
It’s also important to clarify that it wasn’t ruled in favor of “shareholders” but just shareholder. The overwhelming majority voted in favor of the initial pay package
This is why is like Mondays, because I get updated with the latest Space/Spacex news
The Delaware judge ruled AGAINST the majority of Tesla investors
Rocket lab is more interesring to me than space X, the fact parachutes landing a booster sounds cool. And god, im excited for New Glenn.
So many new ideas in the space industry! It means that more people are really asking the deep questions that come along with reusable spaceflight and the industry is starting to grow much faster than previously expected. The era of space tourism is quicky approaching. New ideas always comes with innovaton, no matter how dumb an idea may sound.
Tbf the only reason Electron can land by parachute is because it's so light - Falcon 9's hypothetical parachute would be so big and heavy it'd make no sense
@@MattLownethat's why I prefer electron, bigger isn't everything.
It wasn't Tesla shareholders, but one guy with nine shares who filed in Delaware. This shows how messed up the State Courts have become, when one judge with a proven agenda can cause this much trouble.
On the flipside.......$56 billion does seem a tad excessive for one person's payment
"But one guy with nine shares who filed in Delaware"... Yeah, so messed up that a peasant with a few shares dared to think that there was a justice system that he could rely on if he thought he had been wronged. What an horrendous "proven" agenda! Only total charlatans and capricious billionaire hacks should be protected by the law! I'll defend you till the end daddy Musk!
@@MattLowne I don't agree. Elon met every metric that was required for him to be paid the bonus. They agreed to it years ago and he came through with his end of the agreement. It's ridiculous that one person with $1000 invested can put a stop to it.
@@MattLowne A tad? I appreciate you being polite and very cautious about your opinion. I understand that you don't want being attacked by the hyperloopy toxic Musk cult members.
It's not a tad excessive, it's insanely excessive. And another symptom of how rotten to the core and how much of a disdain capitalism and its parasite profiteers have for the vast majority of the population they put into misery.
@@SaltySojourn Yeah, justice for a guy with only $1000 is so ridiculous... Justice should only be allowed for billionaires... F*ck peasants right?
I guess you are unaware (or worse, don't care) that Musk's Tesla compensation plan was unique in that he would be paid nothing at all until and unless Tesla achieved a set of growth thresholds, one of which was market cap. Under those terms, he would prosper only if the stockholders prospered, which is why 73% of them voted for the plan. To say the court decided in favor of stockholders gives a very wrong impression. The attorneys found ONE STOCKHOLDER who owned all of nine shares in order to press this lawsuit. The case will be appealed and probably overturned.
The retroactive-compensation-denial lawsuit was filed by a *single* Tesla investor, not investors, who held only 9 shares. And no, it's bullshit to say the compensation packages was "objectively" excessive. First of all, it was approved by the shareholders in advance. Secondly, his compensation package was $1 per year salary, plus certain amounts of Tesla stock that he would only receive upon reaching well-defined, very aggressive performance objectives for Tesla. That stock is now worth $56 billion only because he did in fact hit those very aggressive performance objectives; Tesla stock price went up 10x under Musk's leadership since 2018.
As for Mr EM's pay, he more than deserves it, he is not just a CEO, he created the success the company enjoys now! Including the investors that decided to sue against him.
It’s absolutely not excessive. He did more than what the board agreed upon. This is an Elon bad judge.
What the hell do people think Musk is going to do with that payout? Make a mountain out of it and laugh maniacally like the Joker,,?? 😂
That “excessive” pay package was;
A. Earned
B. Going to be rolled right back into Tesla, SpaceX, etc and who knows what else.
More RnD. More jobs. More better future. But yeah, rich people bad or whatever…
Now he’s taking his money and jobs elsewhere. GG Delaware !
@@mactherebellionleader5394 I agree, Like a toxic parent of some incredible companies. Realisticaly once Elon is long gone, Spacex will still stand at the forefront of humanity.
Yeah sure, billionaires good. Poor people bad. How dare peasants call for justice and not let daddy Musk cash out an insane amount of "earned" money... I too Am a temporary embarrassed poor guy who one day, through the magical power of pure meritocracy and God sent capitalism, will also become a billionaire and finally being able to trample on poor people myself with disdain, while tweeting islamophobic, antisemitic and right wing conspiracy talking points all day long for attention! What a great moral compass!
@@classydave75 lol yeah. I love SpaceX but I am sure there is definitely a middle ground between "reasonable compensation" and literally 56 *Billion* dollars 😂
@@MattLowne Indeed. Btw, your vids are well done and the tone is right, don't let that freaking cult of personality sway you in doing more "appropriate" content for them. There are already plenty of YT channel for that, which derail more and more on the delusional side. And when Musk will one day follow the path of Elisabeth Holmes and Sam Bankman-Fried, which will happen, at least you won't have to sink in mental gymnastics for his cultists. And you will have retained your integrity, more importantly.
@@classydave75what the fuck are you on about?
They found problems. Now they will fix them.
Next.
Super-genius Elon Musks incredibly successful Starship is practically knocking on Mars front door with a million lucky souls travelling in luxury at 100 per ship; eating in restaurants, listening to live audio performances, and so very, very happy.
..what?
Nah that's fine, that's the Musk vaporware sale pitch he successfully used to pump money into SpaceX. He changed his tune since. Now he says it's going to be a deadly and crammed voyage... Although, I wonder what he has done with the nearly 2 billions he racked up with his other stupid marketing "Dear Moon" pitch. It's on indefinite hold. The Japanese billionaire who got scammed by him should sue him for a refund... But of course, you don't see the very keen billionaire defending Musk cult members showing up for that "poor" guy... By the way, I can only applaud Musk for having defrauded another billionaire. Bravo, that I can stand for. I hope that Japanese guy never sees his money again. 😅
$56 billion? In one year? Jeez. That's a bit excessive. Is he really worth $7.50 for every human on Earth?
$7.50 is probably the price Musk puts on the life of every human being.
The board agreed to the rules. Elon follows the rules. He deserves his money
@@gmeister03 I'm not concerned with the legality, I'm thinking about the ethics.
It was a compensation plan from 2018 in that he would be paid nothing until and unless Tesla achieved a set of growth thresholds, one of which was the market cap (Tesla had to go from over $50 billion+ to over $650 billion). Under those terms, he would prosper only if the company and stockholders prospered, which is why 73% of them voted for it.
@@therealjamespickering whats the ethics behind telling someone they don’t deserve the fruits of their own labor and risk?
SpaceX is doing some incredibale work, but I can't help to worry that Elon is becoming a liability to not only SpaceX but for Tesla as well. Kinda like a toxic parent in the family. SpaceX will always be more than Elon in my opinion.
You can indeed appreciate the work of his engineers without dick-riding the walking and talking liability that he is as well as his "yes man" management under him, only bringing a toxic work environment, harassment of all sorts, racism, discrimination practices in hiring, etc., for which SpaceX is sued for... It's not a worry, it is the reality of things and will become worse and worse in the future. You can bet on it.
How is he a liability to spacex?
What has he done?
@@classydave75you can dislike the guy, I personally have him muted on Twitter, but some of the most respected engineers from both companies have on multiple occasions sung his praises when it comes to what he does. He is integral to the success of both companies whether we like it or not
@@SyntheticSpy Agree to disagree. You can find opposite statements on the way he carries things at his companies as well. Difference is, they are from well respected people who publicly talk about it after having no more professional ties with him, or they come from anonymous insiders who want to denounce his practices but don't want to risk their job by doing it... Which is understandable, as you don't want to lose a job that puts food on your table and is tied to your heath care coverage. America baby!
The fact he was able to pump so much subsidies and private funding to propel SpaceX and Tesla (the latter of which having a totally inflated valuation) by being a marketing "genius" and hype machine shouldn't be a justification for all the wrong he is doing and his overall horrendous behavior. He is a liability, as his numerous, industrial-mass-produced-like lawsuits against him show. And it will only worsen with time. I'm not even sure Musk recognizes the value of his workers, looking at all the lawsuits again SpaceX and Tesla for harassment of all sorts, discrimination practices and dangerous working conditions... But psychotic cult members don't see that. They just have made the community around SpaceX and their real normie enthusiasts and cesspool of toxicity.
we could be spending those billions of dollars on eradicated homelessness and drug addiction on the streets however the hubris of man will die with our failed species
eradicating*
He is trying to recoup his losses on Twitter, at least. One of the tricks is to make, as he did, hype (and faked) presentations about his geriatric Tesla bot to inflate the Tesla stock value each time it is necessary. For example after having been forced to acquire Twitter or saying stupid sh*t that tanks the stock. SpaceX is also burning more than 2 billions a year on Starship. Musk also lost the last 1 billion federal subsidy round he applied for to fund Starlink (and cried about it on Twitter of course). And the SpaceX HLS program is starting to smell bad for NASA Artemis 3 plans...
Musk is one of the worst snake oil salesman capitalism has ever produced, successfully mixing real life products with total vaporware. He will end up like Lizzy Holmes or Bankman-fried, you can bet on it. He's going to leave tens of millions of insane cult members without a father figure. And what a morally depraved father figure he is...
