Thank you very much for this tip 👍 I had exactly the same problem (Z axis test failed) after setting up a bondtech IFS. I put 191mm instead of 185mm, it now works perfectly. AND, Thank you very much also for your videos about Tukkari enclosures. 2 TLX for my 2 mini+ are coming on Tuesday ☺
i'd been trying to adjust the spinda forever to get the self-test to pass on Z axis, and replaced the trapezoid not all to no avail! Adjusting to 191 (I also have the bondtech) and now everything's green! thanks!
Worked like a charm, thanks. I also installed the bondtech, so that's definitely the problem. Crazy how I went a year without calibrating and it was never an issue. I only did it because of a teardown I recently did. Curious, where did you get your stone plate? Looks very nice compared to the Lowes paver I'm using.
that secret menu in the new firmware is also now where you adjust the estep for the bondtech ifs extruder instead of running specific gcode or use custom settings on the prusaslicer. it makes the prusaslicer closer to default by no longer requiring that, or one less step after booting up the printer by not having to run that gcode recalibration.
Great video! I am just running into similar issues, I hope your advice will solve it. Did you mention you replaced your extruder? Can you share what extruder do you use, and why?
@YigalBZ well you can't really say you have fitted it. Choice is yours, wait until the 12 month warranty has expired? Or worst case fit the old extruder if you have to do a return. I found the new extruder faultless in operation. I also recommend using the bond tech heatbreak.
@@colinhill 191 into the secret menu...Hooda thunk. I ran into that today after an attempt to update the firmware failed, and I spent a couple of hours in Chat with the very nice Prusa people. I was in the pre-order crowd for the original Mini. It seemed pretty good for a while, but then I started experiencing a mix of extruder and hot end problems. I installed the Bondtech extruder and heat break and things were much better. I did modify the heat break installation (used a small soft mouth clamp) and also added three slightly longer stainless cap screws so it was easier to adjust and set. I'm probably going to try the Slice Engineering hotend upgrade kit next.
Thank you very much for creating this video.... really helped me and worked perfectly using the z-axis correction to 191mm 🙂

You will love the Tukkari enclosures.
@@colinhill I think so too 🙂
Thanks for the tip of the hidden menu and the length, solved my problem too!

It's a stone tile, not as good as a paver.
Merci pour votre aide Colin. L'étalonnage de l'axe Z a très bien fonctionné. Je n'ai trouvé la solution nulle part. Cordialement
Thank you so much. Two options of a fix and straightforward instructions. Subscribed!

Worked perfectly for me! Mine showed 175 and when I reset the Z setting for that, I passed the test!

Bond tech Ifs extruder, it doesn't jam like to stock extruder and also more quiet
@@colinhill Does it make a change for Prusa when accessing their support?

Realy good to know. Thank you for efort and update
thanks you solved my error 🤠
Danke sehr gutes Video! Ich habe das Problem behoben an meinem Mini
I've the same problem, but with the y-axis. I already reassembled all. Y-Axis says 191 and idk how to change it.
Y axis shouldn't change
worked for me. Thank you very much
curious - why have you set your extruder steps to 325 when Bontech advises 415?
My slicer sets it to 415, just not got around to changing on the actual printer - the facility wasnt available until relatively recently. :)
The secret menu doesn’t exist anymore 😢 any other tips?
awesome work
Thank you!!!
