- Welcome to my UA-cam channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content.
I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. Let me know what you think about the video. Enjoy!!
If you are interested in an official MYM hat or if you have any questions please send me an email to midyearmitch@gmail.com.
Check out my Instagram for some behind the scenes pics of my builds.

Patience of a saint. Awesomeness
Gotta give you credit. You are amazing and skilled at your young age to take on challenges like this. Ive owned over 50 Corvettes over the years been around some of the best NCRS &Bloomington Gold-- body & paint men. But you take the cake with the skill & guts to bring back dead Corvettes..Kudos to you Mitch!! Wish I could find an ole wreck! I sure trust you to revive it after seeing you work!
Understatement that there is quite a bit involved. Better you than me brother.
Watching you put these all back together is like watching a magic show. Love it!
Some of these videos give me the false impression that I could rebuild a c2 from a few wrecks. But then a video like this reminds me that I'm just dreaming. My first corvette rebuild would be named Frankenstein.
I agree with jasmith , I'm lost , even following along , this is great entertainment Mitch but there is no way I would take this on. You are very talented guy .I know you will finish this build ,thanks for the video .
You need a good frame table! Awesome work Mitch!
Whew! Getting complicated there, Mitch! But one day at a time and she'll be perfect, I'm sure! Fun video! A+++++
This detail and effort is remarkable
“… quite a bit of fiddling…” I’ll say
seriously insaneeeee ! Mad respect for the job you do on those cars. Very nice to see those old vette back on life ! nice job again and keep the good work
Amazing skill in doing what you’re doing. Very enjoyable video.
I've only subscribed this year but you're right. This is an enjoyable channel.
Great work and great video - thank you!
New to the channel, so catching up. I am a Porsche guy, but have always loved the 63 to 67 Vettes. Who knows, maybe someday. Looking at the structure, if I do ever get a car, I will install a roll bar or cage! Not so worried about my driving, but people are crazy out there. Also, I am a recovering mechanical engineer, so I like the way you approach things.
I appreciate it, thanks for tuning in. It’s awesome to have a lot of engineers in the crew. When I was building my first car this way, my dad (also a mechy) was alarmed at the little steel that made up the body. These cars are basically go karts. The most strength in them is the chassis. That’s what’s really protecting you. This would be a very bad car to get T boned in.
Hey Mitch. Just buy some extra wide door seals to fill in that door gap. 😂
Brilliant.
You got yourself a project, Mitch. Good luck.
Hey there Dr. Mitch,
That is some major surgery you're performing there! I'm not sure how you get the metal to cooperate like that ... the relief cuts are the key, I guess. It's pretty interesting how a tweak here and a slice there and it starts moving back into place. Cool stuff!
Take care,
Dan
Mitch i missed the Bird cage build video but will go look for it. That has to be a critical part to any thought of such a rebuild. Given the cost of completed vettes and parts are out there as twisted wrecks this should be a gold mine for you in the future. Really smart move. I would only but a C2 that you built, no kidding, you give me faith in rebuilds now. I did rebuilt a 2007 Z06 Ron Fellows and it was a mess. This feels actually easier but no doubt requires your skill and craftsmanship to be worth anything. Looking forward to see all theses videos.
Great video!
Nice work Mitch! That is twisted up pretty bad.
just finished Wow you are so brave, But we have faith and we see you are very focused. Looking forward to every video young man. Now to find that bird cage template. I want to try the birdcage adapted the C5 Frame so transaxle for weight distribution with C2 or C3 body parts.
With adaptors to the fenders and wide body looks. Don't have it all worked out in my head yet, D
That was great. It's gonna be just as good as new in no time at all. Didn't slow you down a bit even being all crumpled up and from 5 cars. Would have taken me 20 weeks and a big hammer. Great job have a wonderful weekend, stay safe.
One Corvette from three.
How do you determine which VIN to use and what happens to the other two?
Are you familiar with Larry Galloway's book, "Corvette"? He explains the reason why the doors on the C2 coupes are always off and the crude factory fix.
With cars like these I wonder if he even has a vin left on the carcass? I assume a new reconstruction Vin is assigned by the state? I’ve asked this question before but never got an answer.
How did GM originally assemble the birdcage? To get the birdcage in alignment must have been assembled with a jig.
like 9 !
You need a Porta-Power
It the value of the finished car really worth all this work?
Do yourself a big favor, just put a straight axle in back with 4 link.
