This video was planned to come out last week, but I decided to make a small change and upload the last one first 😛 I hope you guys didn't wait for this one for too long 😎 Let me know if you have any suggestion or any idea that you want me to talk about. 😉
I've been taking Chinese lessons, but I was having trouble with pronunciation and daily context. I've spent a lot of timing watching your channel, and following along with the pinyin and hearing your pronunciation is SO helpful. Your explanations are clear and easily understandable. These phrases and expressions are extremely useful for me. I hear most of them daily from my coworkers and students, and now I know the meaning and context. Thank you, for your channel and hard work! It's sincerely helped me in my studies.
This specific lessons are truly helpful. I like how you breakdown each expression and provide its meaning in English. Also having the option to pause the video gives me time to study each character and pronunciation. Thank you so much Miss Grace
True story. When I was in Taiwan for 6 months I ordered food in a restaurant in 二林 in 彰化. The waitress asked me "你来台湾多久?" and I said "6个月" and she said "厉害!" Years later I ordered food in a restaurant in Taichung and the waitress asked me "你来台湾多久?" and I said "6年" and she said "原来如此!"
Apparently, it's speculated that English "long time no see" (好久不見) comes from Cantonese 好耐冇見. It probably entered English through US Chinatowns or directly from British Hong Kong!
i really like your lessons. they're very helpful. can you also make a video about the words commonly used in the stores (supermarkets, convenience stores, etc.) and restaurants? thank you.
I loooove your videos and this series of fixed expressions! Thank you! You are talented with pedagogy, I can tell as you provide a lot of examples and in other videos, you also provide a lot of examples and context. I can't thank you enough!
Guo 老师好 . Thank you for today's very useful lesson (part 2). No apology for the delay; it was worth waiting for. I love the fact that I can put them to use right away in everyday conversations. 多谢老师 . By the way with the corona virus going around be careful going out. 您要好好保重 .
That’s pretty cool! I always thought that 老是说。meant “teacher says”! 😂 Lol. every time I heard it I was confused; now that makes total sense! Thank you very much.
Hi Grace, I really like your videos and like to take notes on them and copy down the sentences. Could you combine pinyin if two morphemes make a word? It would help me differentiate between single syllable words and words with multiple syllables. For example, in your videos, you would display "míngtiān" as "míng tiān," which is confusing. Thank you!
Totally Fake I’m glad you like the videos! Thank you for the suggestion, but because I use a specific way to add Pinyin on Chinese characters, it can only do it that way. So I’m sorry I can’t combine them together :(
@Grace Mandarin Chinese what series is it, that you always use for the examples? Also thank you for your effort I am making great progress thanks to you^^
oww glad finally found you! I reboot my laptop and I also forgot my Gmail password for that I can't enter/ serve internet maybe more than a month and also recent 武汉冠状病毒 just make us feel exhausted ... Maybe missed a lot of videos.... btw how are you doing there? is your city is safe from virus.... here in Yangzhou is just started spreading a little bit worry about that cause we staying here in our dorm-like a quarantine....and hoping for the best.....
How can you understand anything they say in these examples? They talk so fast I don't understand how chinese people even understand it without subtitles, that's crazy
I lost it at "how chinese people even understand it without subtitles". Iimagined people speaking in real life with subtitles showing in front of them so people can read.
Hey grace, could you subtitle the video clips you use also? Thank you! Edit: oh it has captions after the first one, I should finish watching before commenting!
Hard Work Deserves Appreciation! Firstly I ignored this channel by assuming that she might be cashing face presentation in absence of other Chinese (I’m sorry for general Perception But mostly People do. Secondly I’m also in China,Victim of Isolation caused by Legendary Novel-Coronavirus 😊)

Example, buy a car when all car manufacturers are enemies(sabotaged chinese). After i trash every single brand, and the entire car industry then i ask you to choose and laugh at you. You cheap-charlie and enemy (sabotaged chinese) want free advertising at my expense.? How about i trash your entire country until your country is full of retards. Ah! 原来如此! I have heard students say "老實說(Lǎoshí shuō)" very often but I thought they were saying "
老師說 (Lǎoshī shuō) and talking about me.

In French or Spanish 順其自然 is translated as "Que sera sera". Google translate says it is "Let it go" but I think that has to do with Frozen.
Fixed comments helps one to become more articulate. Let's have more common expressions.

What is the animated movie with the panda?
Edit: nevermind found in description :)
At 4:25, it sounds like he says "我為...", not "我也..." I don't see why pronunciation changes so much sometimes.
Hi Grace !
Can you give me some examples for using “原來” with the “original” meaning 🥺🥺
you could say, for example 这是我原来的家, i.e. "this is my original/old house"

Local government announcements in Taichung are always accompanied with "台中市政府關心您". :)
When you pronounce 顺 is sounds more like you are saying 绳 rather than 顺.
