You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
Tip: after you finish clipping get a body brush or any soft brush and flick of all the loose hair so your horse doesn't get itchy or even give them a wash if its not to cold hope this helped someone keep their horse from scratching themselves too much 🐎💜
I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU GUYS! Can't wait for season 2 ♥♥ Big hug from Norway, and thank you so much for making me laugh and teach more about horses! :D ♥♥
The horse that is in this video is just stunning! What kind od clippers did you use? I enjoyed the tip on how to clip the hair to prevent lines. The last time i clipped I had lin everywhere, but I hope you techquine will work for me next time.
Thanks SO much for doing this, I feel more confident about how to go about clipping my horse now. Couple questions- what clippers would you reccommend for someone only clipping 1-2 horses per winter, and what size of blade would you use? Also, is there any point where it's "too late" to clip them, because it could affect the growth of their hair in the spring? Thanks!
Love this video - helped me so much. In the market for a new pair of clippers, how can I find the brand of these clippers??? Would sure appreciate a response . Thank you ! Awesome video !!
my horse will turn the barn into dust whenever she sees a clipper intended for horses so I got a large dog trimmer instead, it's not as heavy, won't make your hand go numb from vibrating, barely gets warm (nowhere near hot), your ears still work after 45 minutes of clipping, it only cost half of what a horse clipper costs and my not so stroppy mare doesn't move a muscle when being clipped. Perfect for when you've only got one horse
Haha i love your videos keep doing what your doing i love it! Its great advice with some added humour!!! Lol maybe you could do a video on how sit and control the canter? Or how to build confidence for riding? :-)
One additional thing I would do when clipping the flank area and hind end was take the horse's tail and make a wrap around my free hand to ensure they don't shift their weight (as in raising the near hind leg to kick. Should that start to look like a possibility, I would pull the tail wrapped around my hand towards me putting my weight into it thus disabling the horse from kicking. Works like a charm and is entirely pain free for the horse.
Why do people clip horses? I'm new to horse riding and I've seen so many clipping videos around. Also could you do a video on how to position yourself in a canter? I've searched it but didn't come across much. I love your videos they're really helpful!
In the winter the horses fur grows thicker and longer so if they are working hard they will sweat a lot and then possibly get ill from being wet in the cold weather, so they clip them to prevent the sweat and use rugs in the stable to keep them warm. During canter you just sit the same as all the other paces, sit up straight, look ahead and only turn your head and shoulders around corners do not lean your whole body or the saddle may slip off, I'm guilty of that! I hope I helped you out!
Help! I clipped my horse for the first time ever and she won't quit twitching her skin and swatting her tail. It's bugging her so bad I can't even ride her with a saddle but she's fine if I ride bareback. Any advice ?
how can i teach my stallion bruno, he is frightened of clippers, but he is 5 years old, he has been clipped before, but i can't even get the clipper close to him, he doesn't like the noise and its tickles him, i think, do you have any idea, how i can teach him?? Evention TV
+S&L Eventing Sisters I know this was 9 months ago but I would start by turning on a small pair of cheap trimmers and leave them outside or inside the stable to get them used to the noise. Then use the same trimmers to touch the horse with when they are on and off.
The area of the horse that you chose to take away the hair from alters acording to how cold it is where you live. In cold climate it is not a good idea to shorten the hair under the horse since it is close to impossible to cover that area with any form of protection. It is also important that hair is regrown when summer and insects come.
+Zoawesomeshowjumper You can, but it isn't recommended to do it over the summer months or past February as it interferes with the summer coat, however it is more of a guideline, if your horse gets really hot still, you can continue to clip all year round.
Yes but they dry so much faster without all that winter coat, especially if you have a furry beast like I do! Of course it is important to keep a clipped horse in a sheet and/or blanket depending on your location.
If you keep the skin taught by gently pulling down while you shave up you are less likely to hurt the animal and there are guards you can use if you use a pet/dog clipper. Pet clippers made for smaller animals are quiet and lighter too.
Clipper coolant works well, it's just that it's a know carcinogen. The best thing to do is to have 2 blades and a ceramic tile, after 10 or so minutes, take on blade off, partially slide out the blade inside, brush it off and oil as necessary. That way there is no potential for running the clipper, the blade or harming your horse.
I would start slow, making sure the horse is okay with the clippers around the rest of their body, then bringing the turned off clippers and touching their face and ears with it. I like to put earplugs in their ears so wayward hairs don't get into their ear canal and the sound is lessened.
While I was watching this I was wondering what if someone started to clip their horse and messed up really bad and they ended up pretty much having to shave the whole horse...
+Spirit n Sock We do it at college lol. We get students to start off with doing a chaser clip (neck, belly, shoulder) then if they mess up the next more experienced students take it to a blanket clip before the last and most experienced who have done it before take it to a hunter clip.
For horses that are being worked in colder climates they can easily get sweaty under a heavy winter coat. It takes the horses longer to cool down after a ride and if they are put away warm and wet they could get sick. The parts clipped in the video are the main areas horses sweat so they rest of the hair is kept to let the horses keep some warmth. Also many people do full body clips to help keep the horses clean throughout the winter especially if they plan to show.
I did it with my old horse :P except he was in lots of work so we did a full clip but left a shooting star unclipped on his rump, I also do eventing so it didn't matter but you probably shouldn't if you do say hunters because you can still see the lines for quite a while because a lot of the time as the hair grows back it is a slightly different colour. (will go away a little while after it has grown back it is not permanent dont worry haha)
Two girls Four Gaits Thats what I thought! I assume its mostly for appearance since they will sweat with or without their winter coat. We trained our horses outside all winter and never needed to clip.
If you ride in the winter and your horse gets sweaty, it takes way too long to dry and can make your horse sick if you turn him out or even if you keep him inside. Also is you show in the winter it looks way nicer than a shaggy pony.
+Malak Amir you don't have to per say, some people do it because they work there horses consistently over the winter and want them to stay dry and cool. others don't want there horse to grow a coat so they clip and blanket. Others do it for showing.
Horses grow thick coats and their skin produces more grease in winter to help protect them against wet and cold weather. These assets are great for keeping the horse naturally warm, but they make it difficult and even unhealthy if the horse is worked regularly to the point of perspiring. Sweat mixes with the grease in the coat to create a film that mats the thick hair. The thick coat is slow to dry, and it can't keep a horse warm in this matted state, leaving the horse vulnerable to chills that lead can to illness. That's why almost everyone uses a blanket.
Lacey Bryan I think it is because sometimes the horses winter coat can be to thick to work in and they get sweaty and when they get sweaty it makes them cold ☺️
the horse at the beginning was like "yes, only she does the clipping"
its so true if you look closer at the horse, he starts nodding 'yes', its really funny
Haha I saw that too
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Merrick Marcel Instablaster :)
when Jimmie says "we talked about this, I do all the clipping" all I see is the horse nodding and going "yes save me Jimmie!!"
That buckskin in the intro is so gorgeous!
Does anyone else find the hair coming off fasanating?
Me!! I love watching it! XD
Yep OwO
I know how to clip but I like to watch this because of the hair!
+Gracie Louie it's so satisfying lol!

Haha the horse is like yes you do do all the clipping I don't trust that other guy
Love there good shape, and your good atmosfære
Great video!
To answer the clipper questions I believe that is a Wahl/Lister Legend.
Hahaa. When she says she does the clipping the horse behind her is nodding
Tip: after you finish clipping get a body brush or any soft brush and flick of all the loose hair so your horse doesn't get itchy or even give them a wash if its not to cold hope this helped someone keep their horse from scratching themselves too much 🐎💜
I love that the horse is in the background just knodding his head agreeing with the clipper person
It's funny that Tex nods his head when Jimmie tells Dom that she does the clipping
I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU GUYS! Can't wait for season 2 ♥♥ Big hug from Norway, and thank you so much for making me laugh and teach more about horses! :D ♥♥
Love the horse nodding in the into 😂
LOVED it, thank you so much! Btw, your Intro is AWESOME!!
What kind of clippers do you use? They do a good job!
very good instructions thanks for this video

Hello I was wondering if you can make a video on how to do a strip clip for a light working horse for winter.
Thanks, Sarah
Fantastic
Yet another great video!!!
What kind of clippers are you using?
The way you clip is so much better that the traditional way :3
Anyone know that brand of clipper? I have to get a new pair and these look wonderful
Hi there once you poured new clipper oil on the blades after cleaning them do you wipe off the excess oil ??
at 0:06 the horse agrees :D
Who else thinks Jimmy looks like Caspar Lee?
Mybaybae Totally does, omg
Omg yes!
+Mybaybae yeasss

Rebecca Hviid cute
does anyone know what size blades she had them on and what brand the clippers were?
Haha i love your videos keep doing what your doing i love it! Its great advice with some added humour!!! Lol maybe you could do a video on how sit and control the canter? Or how to build confidence for riding? :-)
How do you measure for a hunter Clip (for the saddle pad)?
In the beginning when she said "We talked about this I do all the clipping" The horse was "nodding"
I saw that too! 😂
XD
0:05 the horse was shaking his head yes too!
How do u do near the mane
"I do all the clipping" horse in the background nods head
what is the best way to make sure both sides of the clip are even?
Подскажите, пожалуйста, как называется песня, которая играет в начале видео?

You: I do all the clipping!
Horse: (shakes head yes)
Its so satisfying watching the hair come off
*BUZZZZZ*

I'm clipping a pony tomorrow and I have a really strict teacher I'm so nervous any advice?
Blade size???
This is soo awesome!!And I Just Was So Shocked that Your horses name is Bellamie,Guess why?Thats my name😂😂
Help! I clipped my horse for the first time ever and she won't quit twitching her skin and swatting her tail. It's bugging her so bad I can't even ride her with a saddle but she's fine if I ride bareback. Any advice ?
in the beginning xD the horse was like; ''She does it!!''

to start with run the clippers down their body (when there not on) and make the shhhhh sound with your mouth. then everyte he stands still reward him
+S&L Eventing Sisters I know this was 9 months ago but I would start by turning on a small pair of cheap trimmers and leave them outside or inside the stable to get them used to the noise. Then use the same trimmers to touch the horse with when they are on and off.

lol did anyone else lough at the horse nodding when jamie siad=i do all the cliping!!!?!!
What about a horse that doesn't like to spook? My horse is terrified! I have to Twitch him to do it
Can you clip all year round?
+Zoawesomeshowjumper You can, but it isn't recommended to do it over the summer months or past February as it interferes with the summer coat, however it is more of a guideline, if your horse gets really hot still, you can continue to clip all year round.
+BlackMountain150 I live in Australia and it gets freezing after February
wouldn't they sweat with or without their winter coats?
Yes but they dry so much faster without all that winter coat, especially if you have a furry beast like I do! Of course it is important to keep a clipped horse in a sheet and/or blanket depending on your location.
I really like this clip, I might try it, i might personalise it tho :-)
But how does she stay so /clean/?? I don't see a hair on you, Jimmie!
Haha, I know! After rides/grooming I'm so covered in my chestnuts hairs, I start to look like him!
I knoooowww! Whenever I walk out of the stables I'm so covered in chestnut hairs I start to look like a horse!
That's Tex hes for sale I think. Might have already been sold.
He's also the horse Jimmie's clipping!
Why do they need to be clipped in winter, wouldnt they be cold
what is the reason for shaving the horse
steve henriksen to look nice for shows and to keep them cool in the summer and theres a lot of different types of clips
lol tex nodding his head in the beginnning
how come the blades don't cut the horse by accident because it looks like you can dig the blade in hard enough
+DolphinDoggy Show If you keep it lined up with the horses body you won't make cuts, only if you stab the horse with it.
If you keep the skin taught by gently pulling down while you shave up you are less likely to hurt the animal and there are guards you can use if you use a pet/dog clipper. Pet clippers made for smaller animals are quiet and lighter too.
No, they won't be cold because they would be worked a bit more then usual and most of the hair is left on and horses are warm blooded
I think she's need to clip he's mustaches too lol :)
Clipper coolant works well, it's just that it's a know carcinogen. that's tex that she is using in the video:)
those are some heavy duty clippers
Why do you even clip them at this point? If you leave so much on, I don't see the point.
its for the sweat, so when they are working they don't sweat as much.
Maybe if you ride horses you might understand...
They sweat mostly on their chest and neck and it helps them dry faster and won’t result in a matted, sweaty, winter coat
I would start slow, making sure the horse is okay with the clippers around the rest of their body, then bringing the turned off clippers and touching their face and ears with it. I like to put earplugs in their ears so wayward hairs don't get into their ear canal and the sound is lessened.
I do all the clipping *horse nodding in agreement*
she looks like amy of f of heartland
Tex agrees
While I was watching this I was wondering what if someone started to clip their horse and messed up really bad and they ended up pretty much having to shave the whole horse...
Some people actually do shave the whole horse. It's called a full body clip 😄

+YouGottaBay yep! Only it's not good to full body clip in the winter. But I love how horses look in a full body clip😂
why do they need cliping?
Some horses get too hot with their coat during winter work so need it clipped off
livisnotafirefly what about the legs?
Aesthetics haha

Can you or can you not shave/trim a letter or word into his/her hair
It depends where. If there's are rug going on top then fine. They did it to a horse at my riding school.
I did it with my old horse :P except he was in lots of work so we did a full clip but left a shooting star unclipped on his rump, I also do eventing so it didn't matter but you probably shouldn't if you do say hunters because you can still see the lines for quite a while because a lot of the time as the hair grows back it is a slightly different colour. why clip the coat at all?
It will keep your horse cooler and give him or her a cleaner appearance
You'll notice that they are only really shaving where sweat builds up the most, its mostly to prevent that
I clip because my horse has Cushing's, which means that during the winter, her hair is thicker than a normal winter coat.
Stephanie Neata bc it prevents them from catching a chill when they sweat
Two girls Four Gaits Thats what I thought! I assume its mostly for appearance since they will sweat with or without their winter coat. We trained our horses outside all winter and never needed to clip.
why does a horse need a winter clip ?

Hau menu horses you have
why do you shave horses
backflip girls A horse will sweat and it can be a mess with a thick winter coat. If you shave them, they will dry faster and be more comfortable
"I do al th
y do we have to clip the horses

why do u clip h a horse
Lacey Bryan I think it is because sometimes the horses winter coat can be to thick to work in and they get sweaty and when they get sweaty it makes them cold ☺️
I feel like I would mess this up and make it look as crappy as possible😂
I don't like how people do this to horses
You should... It's for their own benefit. They would sweat so much being worked during the winter, and it wouldn't dry, so they would get sick.
the clip is really ugly... whats the point of it? jw
If your horse gets super sweaty with a full coat, then they will take forever to dry in cold weather. They will get very sick.
ohhh okay thanks for informng me.
