Very accurate, as an D4 d4204t14 owner i had these problems: - Exhaust manifold gasket leaked (Has been replaced, no issues for 50k kms) (Problem was in first year of owning the car) - Egr valve problems (I blocked the Egr and got a software change to disable the codes) (This issue came in the second year i owned the car) - Valve cover and PCV has just been replaced recently (This issue came in the third year i owned the car). So after all 3 issues, i don't think these issues are that bad. It just needs fixing (if you fix it right after you see the problem, the engine will be fine), also the engine never stopped working. In 4 years of ownership i am fine with it. Engine is still running really good and almost reached 300k in kms.
Hello, I have a 2015 delivered xc90 D5, EGR was replaced under warranty and recall, car did have oil leaks after the one service after 100k km, fixed under warranty, then twin turbo completely died at 128k km. There was a recall for the fuel line too. I'm still driving it, it's 206000km right now, and interestingly, no oil burn or consumption. But the exhaust pipe does give out black and grey smoke when you accelerate hard every now and then. Do we ever need to change the DPF?
