now this is a genuine interview with bjork. it makes me sick seeing all the ridiculous or sexualized/demeaning interviews that the media put her through because of the type of culture. it feels difficult finding genuine interviews that really dive into her mind. thanks for uploading this! its no wonder she rarely shows up on tv anymore..
Still a lil bit in love with Björk. Such a beautiful woman, inside & out. A truly unique personality, with an intriguing mind. 1 in a trillion type of human. Love her English accent - the ways she splits between sounding foreign & like a native, within the same sentence. Was just listening to some of her music, & came across this. Sending her love & best wishes from the UK in 2024 x
this is an interview from NRK, the tv-channel that belongs to the state of Norway. they are way, way better at doing interveiws than americans and brits if you ask me. björk seems way more comfortable here than in any of the american/british ones.
90s NRK seemed better at entertainment programming than most other European state (and private) broadcasters, that much I've noticed. The Rondo they did with Scatman John, for example...
OMG, the racism! 🙄 It's not about Americans and Brits. It's about which media catering to which audience. You do know the US and Britain don't only have one media on one channel for one audience, right? Ew.
She's beautiful, creative, and smart! Iceland is a wonderful and fascinating country with a long-standing culture and literary tradition! I am a longtime Björk fan! She is so cool! Thanks for sharing this great interview! All the best! 🙂
As if you had met every person on the planet. As if authentic automatically meant hugely talented and famous. Ordinary people couldn't be authentic, right? 🙄
Well, I understand the Sugarcubes a little better now. They were just artist being creative...and Bjork happened to be the exceptional talent in the group, but otherwise, they were all having a good time experimenting, making films, writing novels or poetry, etc. It just happened by accident that others took notice.
I love Björk - this is excellent. It’s kind of curious how her accent is very “normal” sort of a Nordic English but when you remind her of her homeland, her “r” gets that strong trill that you’d hear especially later in her career. It’s like she inhabits these personas, I think, quite honestly. She certainly didn’t want to be pigeonholed by the English, but didn’t want to be subsumed into London either. What does one do?
"There is always something 'Icelandic' connected to you. Do you do that on purpose?" "No, not at all. Most of it is out of my control, it's um ..it's basically, um, it's called 'English Racism', if you want. It's, um, English is caught with this illusion that English is the best place in the universe and England is England and the rest is some sort of creatures that happen to live on the planet as well...". "I had to swallow my pride when I moved to London".

Agreed. It also sucks that she gets asked the same questions multiple times. Gets monotonous.
She tells the Truth. No-body wants to hear the truth. They want to hear a bunch of damn lies is all.
But she is sooo hot
@@shawnkennedy6866 Huh? Nobody wants to hear the truth? So this interview for instance, nobody watches it, right? Riiight...
She was more comfortable because she was in nature for the interview
I love how she isn't super glammed up here too, just natural and genuine and speaking her mind freely
She's one of the most eloquent musicians out there but the media keeps exoticizing and misrepresenting her.
She's weird as snake suspenders, but really successful. That is admirable.

Very, very important the things Bjork says in this interview, especially the comparison between songs-children
ONE OF THE GREATEST INTERVIEWS WITH HER. Thnxxxx

A thousand thanks! I have been looking for this interview for over 20 years as it was the interview that started my interest in Björk's music! :D
Thank you for uploading this great interview!

One gets a sense that in most settings, she's the most intelligent person in the room. And failing that, she's always the deepest thinker...
I got that impression as well. She IS unique.
Que mujer mas hermosa 🤩
Great interesting interview again!
She’s so incredibly lovely
I adore her! She is the most AUTHENTIC human on Earth!
As if you had met every person on the planet. As if authentic automatically meant hugely talented and famous. Ordinary people couldn't be authentic, right? 🙄
I just subscribed to your channel! :)
Björk ❤❤ Island ❤

Great interview ♥
it's funny, her combination accent ends up sounding a lot like the accents we have on Anglesey

LOVE IT @ 2:22 WE WERE LIKE F U ! ! ! :)
So are we gonna talk about how English her accent veers at semi-random between Icelandic and a weird Icelandic/British mix?
One thing i agree about this interview is the fact that people in america tend to think that they are the greatest being.
I think she was talking about British people, but yeah, Americans do this too

Why does she sound so British here?
matur suksma

She sounds Britlandic
2:28 Language!
pulchra radices
No need to insult England, which has always been a creative crucible.
Bjork and Elon would make a great pair.
Gross
Disgusting weirdo
I hope she never comes across your comment. She might puke. You obviously didn't actually listen to this interview.
