Thanks, Steph! I went to Maui last year for the first time, and my buddy, his wife, and I are all traveling to Oahu on the cheap this year. This was great to get ideas from!
Loved this video STL. Honestly, your skills are very impressive! The quality cinematography, the narration, capturing of B-roll, overcoming fears, drone footage, interacting with Ryan and engaging with the viewers....just awesome all around! Thank you again!
Another Steph-tastic production. I Loved it. Such beauty from the other side of the lens. Wonderful views, great information and perspectives of the land. Thanks for all the heart and hard work you put into your Videos Steph.
Travel veteran and actual veteran (and Seattle native!) here leaving for a trip to Oahu today. Thanks for this video! Even though I've been there several times, there are locations mentioned here I didn't know about and will definitely be visiting. Thanks! :-)
Hi Steph, I watched your video again for the really cool footage. The drone shots were incredible. I’m glad you didn’t jump off the cliff at Spitting Caves. I did that when I was younger and it’s super dangerous. Timing the swell is critical there. Did you notice the plaque imbedded in the rock? A kid died there on high-school graduation night. So sad. Jump Rock at Waimea is a much safer jump. Looks like you had fun there. Glad you had a great adventure guide to show you the less-known spots. You mentioned going up the Koko Head crater hike but it wasn’t in the video. In my 30+ years on Oahu, I only did that climb once. Walking straight up those old rail tracks is grueling! I made it to the pillbox at the top, but watched a lot of tourists give up halfway to the top. You’re obviously in good shape so you probably made it. Excellent view from up there. Going back down is surprisingly almost as hard as going up. I sort of slide on the gravel like I was surfing most the way down. Lol. Anyway, I love your videos and I subscribed yesterday. Keep up the great work and be safe. Aloha 🤙🏼
Wow, loved the views, the drone shots, the adventure specialist is most def on point!!!!! . Oh n forest gump hahahaha ❤'d it. Now on my bucket list. Thank you 😊🤗🦁
Damn. You guys was on a mish. You did choooooke in just 2 days 👍🏽🤙🏽 hope you had fun. Very well explained when you talked about the ocean and when to go and not to go. Love this video. Not your typical “what to do when in Hawaii” video.
What a fantastic way to see the island. Are you expected to tip the guides? Your camera work and editing skills have reached a whole new level. Bravo! Really enjoyed this one!
Cool video. I’ve lived on Oahu for 30 years and you went to some cool places on the island. Most tourists do the boring Waikiki stuff and never get to experience the real Hawaii. Surfing is a lot harder than it looks, huh? You’ll get it if you keep trying. I used to be a surfing instructor. Once the student stands up for the first time, they are hooked. Great workout either way. Mahalo for the nice adventure video. Aloha 🤙🏼
Well, everywhere on the island is beautiful. The best thing to do is drive along the coast highway and see all the small towns along the way. From Waikiki, head towards Hanauma Bay. Great snorkeling and you can feed the fish. From there, keep heading east towards the blowhole. Keep going and there’s Sandy Beach. Then Makapu’u. If you stay the road you’ll eventually end up on the North Shore. Sharks Cove is there. Steph went there in this video. You can cruise most of the way around the island by staying on Kamehameha Hwy. it’s right along the beach the whole way. If you don’t stop, (but you will stop) the whole cruise might take an hour and a half. There’s lots of hiking trails to waterfalls and stuff like that. The best thing is to look up a map of things to do on Oahu and do whatever you like. Waikiki is where all the tourists stay and the hotels are there. Waikiki is the tourist area. But once you’re out of Waikiki it’s mostly country and small towns. Once you’re there you’ll see all the stuff to do. Have fun. Aloha.
Great travel vid! I love Maui... but after watching this I have to go to Oahu! Four items of interest... 1) caught a rainbow at spitting cave 2) dual cliff-dive was a great shot 3) Good Vibes Only graffiti (Sansouci style!) 4) And the sunset pillbox drone shot was amazing - You’ve outdone yourself here, Steph! This vid was your most adventure-filled yet! Can’t wait for the next one! 😎
Secret tip sneak into to Waimea falls at night you can cliff dive all night its epic. but not legal. hey we were only sophomores. Mermaid was a go to for us. growing up adventure was key cause it's all you have on such a small island. I think you also need to use public transport because on Oahu it's brilliant. thanks for the vlog really great as always.
@@StephTaylerLive it was all we had as a teenaged Scottish immigrant my white ass needed our of the sun for a trip to north shore in the winter??? I tell everyone best time to go. Thank me later .
Now that's really cool with the Drone me personally I've only told fish the few times I'm a Skin Diver I Spearfish it sucks for me though I had a traumatic brain injury and 2015 on July 9th so I couldn't go diving for a while I just started going back in the water 4 months ago that's how long it's been yes the Drone thing was amazing how they found the ulalua a.k.a giant eye tervally and they drop the bait right from the Drone I'm not too sure but I think they were putting bait on that drone and coaxing the other was to come more closer to their lines or the hooks were I'm not sure as I said I'm not a poor fisherman I'm a spear fisherman you would love it in Hawaii you really would if your a city person Honolulu be great and has everything there and then there's countryside's that you drive to but if you like the country away from the hustle and bustle the real natural the real beauty of Hawaii and the real Aloha Spirit you definitely want to go to Big Island Hawaii that's where I am I've been born and raised in Dolly I live in Honolulu in my teen years and my young adult life and I moved up here Big Island 28 ml 35 I'm an island Hopper LOL they call Big Island God's Country Inn and I know why they call it that cuz the type of person you are if you move here and you don't have any friends you don't know one whatever kind of people that you relate with you get along with that just know you that's the kind of people that you will meet and make friends with people that just randomly come up and introduce themselves it's a trip everything is Falls and place up here sorry for the long comment LOL I hope. You are having a wonderful day and all is good God bless aloha

Nice editing. I know you want a quick turnaround. How much time in post? Most important, did you spot a humu? I got one on video only twice and one of those times was at the Honolulu Aquarium. Aloha!
TolKOZAK Thanks! It usually takes me 3-4 days to roll out a video after I return, unless I’ve booked back to back trips. Didn’t come across a humuhumu, no.
In the Chinaman's Hat segment did you only use waterproof equipment? Beautiful shots by the way. We have driven past dozens of times on our 5 visits and I never once thought of being on the island. Nice going.
Lily Louey The ones I wore in this video are Jeep J-41’s which have lasted me years. Just bought some camel color Columbia Newton Ridge ones (Elk/Mountain color) for Alaska and I absolutely LOVE them!
