    Travis,
    Looks wild. I am heading there for 2022, already got the Selway Region Tag. Do you have the coordinates for the Paradise Campground? I have been looking at the Idaho interactive sight but cannot find it on there. Want to make sure I book ahead prior to going. Appreciate the feedback and loved the video!

    Headed in this same area this year. Looks like the wild fire are tearing that place up. Hope we can get in.

    I got a tag in this zone, I am past the date of refunding so I decided I am gonna try 2 days there. Any general tips? I was gonna find a good spot and do some bugling non stop the whole time. Got a bear tag. I won't be able to pack in so will need to find a good place near a trailhead. Great video, I enjoyed it. Lots of good info and scenery.

      I would go east from Paradise Campground. There are a lot of bears there. I you could make it to the tops of the mountains in that area, you could run into elk. I saw some decent sign that was a few weeks old. In wooded areas up high. The mountains are not very tall in the area to the east.

    I was there the same time as you last year. That place has a way of making you feel insignificant very fast. We covered a shit load of country and only turned up a few fresh elk tracks, passed on a doe one night that would have been un recoverable if it would have rolled the wrong way. After my first trip to that place, we left calling it the Hellway wilderness. Any animal out of that place taken on foot is a trophy in my opinion.

    What did you do with the deer meat?

    • @travisjorgensen7890
      @travisjorgensen7890  2 роки тому

      Boned it out to game bags, packed it back to camp, hung it by the creek in the shade. Then wrapped it in a sleeping bag until we got somewhere to buy a cooler and ice. Got it home, put it in the fridge (still in games bags) , then butchered it to the freezer.

    Great job not giving up! You've got heart and determination. Thanks for sharing. I have a tag in my pocket already for the "Hellway" for 2019 and was happy to get your perspective. BTW, how much weight did you lose?

      I had a couple of days driving to recover before I got to a scale. I would guess between 10-15 pounds.

    What camp stove are you using in this video? Looks interesting. Been wanting to get a tent stove but worried about the weight.

    • @travisjorgensen7890
      @travisjorgensen7890  4 роки тому

      Tigoat 12”. The weight isn’t much of an issue. You can run a Kifaru Supertarp with this stove for under 3 pounds. Almost all 3 season tents are heavier. It’s the way to go, unless bugs are an issue.

      @@sheerwillsurvival2064 yes, we went out of Paradise Campground. Don't go east out of the campground. That's where I first went. To the west is much better. That's where I killed the deer. I think you can find a good buck there if you take your time. Elk will be hard to come, but heard of some people getting elk while I was there.
