Thanks for the review Glen. Strangely, I pulled the trigger at five AM on this cab. Woke up and decided I “needed it.” Was one of my favorite games in the Arcade. Always remembered the graphics and gameplay were so amazing at the time and still hold up. 🖖🏼
The sound is pretty good. I mean we always want things to be louder but after playing it for a bit it's definitely got good volume for sure. Especially when you have the engine revving sounds. I think you'll definitely enjoy it if you buy it
Congratulations on 12,000 subscribers. Great review. My gear shifter does behave like yours, it has a very minimum twist that I had to force while testing it.
Glen, Right where we started when I discovered your channel :) Arcade handhelds :) I actually stopped buying My Arcade products (and others similar) once New Wave Toys and Numskull hit the scene. I don't play these smaller machines since 3/4 scale became a thing, and only display them, so NWT and Numskull have been my go to's (much more expensive, though). I did end up buying this Pole Position My Arcade for my brother for his Christmas present this year. It's one of his favorite Arcade games next to Battlezone and Asteroids. I also bought it off of Amazon, preordered, and luckily my box came in good condition. I don't remember if I chose to ship in Amazon packaging, but I always do that when the option is available for added protection. Glad you're liking this one! vgv
@@videogamevegas I think your brother will really enjoy it. It is a fun little game and thankfully yours did come in a box and I can understand we have to try and focus on what to collect because in my case is out of hand LOL Always appreciate your comments my friend
Hi glen great review so I received it 3weejs ago I must say absolutely worth every penny and also never liked my arcade products but they are improving there quality control from last year I got there pro Atari pro galaga abd Atari game station they work better than there past products
@@GG-sn4cwthanks so much for the comment. I just wish that the game station just looked a little bit better. Maybe I'll pick one up in 3D prints, a little Atari 2600 or something and shove it in there
I don't know what you're talking about Glen, I'm considering returning mine due to poor quality. First of all, that screen could be a lot bigger. They didn't need to put a small screen in the middle of a huge checkered flag; less flag, more screen. Second, and the biggest problem, the steering is WAY too sensitive. We're talking Checkered Flag on the Atari Jaguar sensitive. That's why you couldn't get your initials in, I have the same problem with mine, the steering wheel is too sensitive to get the right letters selected. Mine came in a box, but I had a hell of a time getting the plastic box open. I also had a hell of a time getting the screw out of the battery door. You need a small and do mean SMALL screwdriver to get the battery door off. I actually had to strip the screw to get the battery door open. That screw doesn't need to be there because the battery door snaps shut very well so I'm not even going to use that screw if I keep this pile of junk. The gas and brake button are "spongey." I didn't have a loose knob on the shifter though, so "?" on that. Yeah, but this is poor quality.
@@andyauthor2007 well I can't and would never argue any points against it because if that's how you feel everyone's a little bit different. I think for $49.99 getting what you get considering no one at this point has even put up potentiometer in a driving game like this. I think it's a definitely a first good start. As far as the screen size, it's all down to costs and overall I still think it's a nice little machine and I do agree it is oversensitive and that's why I couldn't get my initials in. But for driving on that size screen it actually felt fine to me. I actually did. I think better playing it here than I have on other systems. So again everyone's going to have their own opinions and I completely respect yours. But for me I think it's good. Is it perfect? No, but it's pretty good
BJ's has them, and cheaper than eBay and Amazon. I have all the MyArcades and they are pretty lousy but look cool on a shelf. The early releases were notoriously bad with the clear plastic box cracking easily and stickers peeling off in the corners. Looks like their latest batches are built better, as this release seems like a good one.
@@foxglove9 That's good at BJ's. I haven't been a member of them. I would used to be a member of Sam's club. Didn't even think of those places carrying them. They used to be at Walmarts all over the place and Target The early early ones were really bad yes, but once it started getting better titles like Pac-Man, galaxian and such they started improving and getting pretty good. Sometimes you get a really good price deal on them but I think right now for what you get the $49 is not horrible. I would put it up there with their Space. Invaders ghost effect unit they made which is really good
Hey Glen, off topic but I’m getting you New Wave trackball for Golden tee. Just curious if it would work with the upcoming Crystal Castles. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
Actually the stands for the other ones were made by somebody else but it wouldn't be hard to do. It's just a square base but remember I'd have to get another one. One always stays stock and then the other one gets the modification but it's definitely a good version of pole position for sure
The tire sqeeling sounds a little off but looks pretty slick otherwise. No big deal but the wheel is a potentiometer with a limit to how far you can turn the wheel? Not free spinning? As long as it plays well. I play them on my Legends Gamer Pro with a trackball. Not perfect but pretty playable with practice. Never get scores like I would with the real arcade wheel though.
@@domeshtan1677 The wheel doesn't have any limit. You can spin it around as many times as you want and you have to re-center it if you want that slit on the center of the wheel to be at the top But as far as it turning left and right it works very well Yeah not too bad. A trackball can definitely suffice 🙂 and get your fix
I hope so too. I let them have it on that because it was so stupid to put something like that in a plastic bag. Not even a insulated bag, just a plastic bag. I think you're really enjoy it
I received mine from Amazon early last week and they shipped it in a box.The clear plastic "shell" packaging had a crack/rip in it from banging around inside the box. Didn't bother me as I have no interest in the packaging but collectors beware.

Yeah it's got the just the right mix of controlling gameplay. Not too hard but also not too easy so pretty much anyone can play it
