My aunt had the 1-18 Frigidaire washer. I remember being fascinated by it. Don't know if I was some type of engineer in a past life but I just love washers and dryers and appliances all together. I was always the odd one in my family because of my love for these machines.
Washers, we had Frigidaires, furnaces, window fans, then branching out to elevators, as I hated being dragged to stores with mom and granny....Been working on heating and cooling equip over 40 years, guess it was my forte.....or just pain geek
My mother had a Frigidaire of probably 1961 or 1962. Where you put the detergent in the center post always had a cup for clorox. It seems to be missing in your machine. It seems to me that it's spin cycle was much faster than 700 rpms. Good looking machine.
I've always found these old Frigidare washers' agitator so funny to look at. Such a different design. Instead of turning left and right, these ones bob up and down! Very funny to look at.
Hey That’s pretty cool old machine. While clearing out houses I found an old Maytag set Washer & Dryer. I gave it to a couple and they used it for several years.
Good video.I lovethis midel over all washers. The spin speed edpecially with the Rapid Dry is awesome. . Dont k now why they discontinued these models. They made a huge mistake doing that. Great narration as well
Wow what an awesome video!!! I always like these Frigidaire washers, My mom had the custom model back in 1965 when i was just 5 years old and I always use to go down the basement with her when she went to do laundry just so I could see it go up and down... Really cool machine!!!
Robert Przybylowicz Thank you! Great story, I never got to see these when they were still being used and sold new. How sad to see the state of washing machines today. Thank you for watching!
16:26 i expected the spin to work like the frigidare 1-18 machines in which it speeds up slower and shifts to a higher speed after a while edit: it does shift to a higher speed; i just didn't expect it to get going that fast
Any theories as to why Frigidaire engineers kept reducing the spin speeds. I am not sure what the RPM is on the Frigidaire WIA-63 will be. I is the two belt variety. Can not wait to get the belts changed anf the agitator installed. Love your videos!!

Antonio Carter Nothing wrong with enjoying these! They are something special. That's for sure
your not alone Antonio, I am the same exact way as you!!! I've been fascinated with washers now for 53 years ever since I was 5 years old!!!
I was one of those children as well.
Same here! Put me in front of a washing machine as a kid and I could be entertained for hours!

the fastest spin speed could have been near 800 rpm
This thing probably does a better job than some of the modern ones! I have used old and new. I prefer old and reliable vs new and complicated.
Very impressive I've always liked the older machines

Even funnier are the Calypso style washers.

Hello Tyler, I did not know you were on you tube. Great video. Cant wait till I get my Imperial up and running. thanks for the video. Tommy
My mother had the same machine is that when I was a kid as I can remember of saying it was a good washing machine 2
It's too bad they don't make those today!🤔 Silly me i guess no one knows how.😁
That's a frickin juke box!
Notice the clothes rolling over? How? The room needs some light and a camera mount where we can actually see down into the machine.

TOMMY HILL They changed to the slower spin speed for the 12lb tub. It went to 710 RPM from 850 RPM.
Ralph Nader likely deemed them: unsafe at ANY speed
very nice
I think I need a a GM made washer.
richard3700hz That can be arranged :)
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This washer seems a bit perverted LOL
Best top loader, Kenmore- that top half of agitator is USELESS
