thats what im curious about. it doesnt even look like the packaging mentions it can connect to the great hall, so im assuming if it does connect it will be with a later piece?
@@anduinbrothar5708ye bc in instructions they just show all sets next to each other but the flying lesson is not connected there to anything my guess it will connect to entrance hall bc that is the closest part of the castle to that which we will getting in this system so it would make sense to connect this set there but probably need to wait atlast 1,5 year to see the complete castle
Love the review! The little "spikes" at the top of the tower and around the set are known as Crenelations. They're used for archerd to hide behind when defending the castles
I find it weird how this set uses this two-piece broomstick technique also found in Grimmauld Place set, while the Great Hall itself uses Fabuland broom piece. I mean, it's called "castle system" for a reason, can we have some consistency please? I just so happened to order a bunch of Fabuland brooms in my last Pick-a-Brick shipment, so I'll just replace those, but still.
Those ollivanders wands were an anomaly and haven’t ever been reused. The brooms are totally different styles so it’s inconsistent to have them mixed with the Fabuland brooms.
$80 for a couple of big, chunky towers with hardly anything in them. It’s basically just an exterior for the small classroom sets, but they look ugly when inserted, so it fails as both a standalone and a combo set. 👎
Ye and its not even close to the other parts of the castle we getting so idk why they make this bc even if u connect it to rest of the castle it will feel out of place bc every other part has an acccurate place except this not to mention this looks the worse exterior of the castle yet so its an easy pass for anyone who collects the new system i just saved 80 dollar for the main tower instead
The building itself looks nice. Interiour fine, expect the 'transfiguration classroom' which looks terrible, (just like this mcgonagall) Think they should have left it empty to fill with a different set. Ofcourse you can swap it out yourself, but then its another leftover set. Would have prefered them to give more pieces to the other interior parts. The price of the set is high too! Official Lego €79,99, which should be like 64,99 retail toystore/amazon price for my country. Which will drop to 55,99 discounted at some point or lower. So I will wait.
Idk why but this set is extremely appealing to me. I liked the last version of this set too but this one looks fantastic. My favorite Hogwarts castle set in a long time. I wish I had the money to assemble all the pieces of this new castle
@@Ashnflash maybe not cancelled but maybe one of those sets that were hard to find, maybe a Lego store or a store exclusive item. or maybe this set looks like an old set during the HP return and my mind isn't getting the name/image of it
Yeah, there was a smaller Flying Lesson set a few years ago. It was a Kohl's exclusive, which was really bizarre - but it was also like $35 and had a much better value for that price.
Ooh so no connection to thw Great hall. Don't like the statue (downgrade to the statue of the previous Flying Lesson, which actually looked like the movie one!)
Not a fan of Lego Harry Potter in general but to be fair this is as close to classic castle that we have gotten in years. Of course I’m including Ideas and Bricklink that are great but nothing like classic Lego castle.
Yeah the big gap will be filled in with a different piece. Same with the back part of it so it may not look like much now but just wait for the rest of the castle
100% the new castle is going to easily be the best hogwarts. However money is limited and I do agree buy them on sales. Majority of them will be at least 20% off down the road. Each at 20% off can save you enough for an upcoming great tower set
@ definitely the best ever, discounts are the best options in these cases, but I live in Mexico which means a discount in here is the same as buying it at original price in the US lol 🥲
The Hogwarts training grounds are an irrelevant section in the back of the castle which we already got a solid set for in 2018 and another solid (for 2021-23 standards) set for in 2021. We do not need this, at least not this early in the new system’s run. This new system should be focused on recreating the main front view of the castle. I don’t mind stuff like the Owlery or upcoming greenhouse once in a while when they’re meant to not be attached to anything but it’s annoying to get a significantly sized castle set which probably won’t connect to anything. It didn’t need to be this big and elaborate either. If we needed to get a new set out to include flying, why not make a new quidditch set? It’s not my favorite subject material but aside from a trunk set its been 7 years since the last one and I’m sure there are new collectors who would want it.
So basically, I'm pretty sure this actually is the front view of the castle but I could be wrong, because this looks exactly like the small area next to the great hall tower!
No it isn’t. This is meant to be the Quidditch training grounds part of the castle. That’s where the scene was set and what the build of the exterior is recreating. Just look for a map of Hogwarts and you’ll see its basically on the opposite side of the Great Hall. The area next to the “great hall tower” (the grand staircase tower) is the front of a building called the Quad.
Dont you feel aschamed, to been bought by Lego to review this BS? This is just a test from Lego, "How stupid a customer gets" 80$, 650 bricks and 10 students MISSING? Also the castle looks nothing like in the scene. Same with the great Hall...it has so many wrong details and wrong bricks, sorry, i know Lego for almost 4 decades now, but at this point, its all about the money and the hope that "stupid fanboys will buy anything as long as Lego says there is a licence"
Do the instructions mention where it's ment to go in relation to the rest of the castle?
Probably

GREAT ASHNFLASH,
For later set it would be
wow 1st black parrot since 1990 !!!!
9:17 this parrot is resembling a hornbill from the film that was transfigurated into a goblet

Why shouldn't there be some variety in broomsticks? Like the wands in the most recent Ollivanders
Those ollivanders wands were an anomaly and haven’t ever been reused. The brooms are totally different styles so it’s inconsistent to have them mixed with the Fabuland brooms.
I love this set the most of the wave
I'm so excited for the most detailed Hogwarts Castle system ever
I wish Lego comes up with a build to actually let the minifigures ride the brooms and not just hold them
Nice set awesome minifigs great review
Black parrot could be used as detail on the rumoured black Pearl ?
Im definitely getting it, it’s beautiful

That much better than previos set
i swear something like this came out 2 or 3 years ago but was cancelled or didnt come out
Not familiar with any cancelled Harry Potter set
It got retired but yeah
There was a flying lesson set that retired
@@Ashnflash maybe not cancelled but maybe one of those sets that were hard to find, maybe a Lego store or a store exclusive item. or maybe this set looks like an old set during the HP return and my mind isn't getting the name/image of it

do you think you could combine this with the old castle modular?
This is not compatible with the Hogwarts Castles from 2018-2023
Ooh so no connection to thw Great hall.
Don't like the statue (downgrade to the statue of the previous Flying Lesson, which actually looked like the movie one!)
The statue should have two swords so you can recreate the scene from the movie :(
Would be cool if the brooms could be positioned to appear like the mini figs are riding it a little better
Im looking forward to this one 😁
Yea if i can get a few of them i will turn it into an outpost or a training center for my Lego knights
Awesome video ash
7:25 Is that McGonagall's office?
Nice Set!

I'm a bit disappointed the McGonagall minifigure doesn't have printing on the dress piece

80$ 😮
you could use the face with the googles for doc oc from spider man into the spider verse
100% getting it
No cat McGonagal is definitely a huge no-no
It’s freaking expensive, I love it ngl (everything of the new castle tbh) but I’ll definitely buy it on a discount.

Overpriced set, but it is a nice one, we will have to wait for a discount
80 USD? Are you KIDDING ME
edp cupcake guy
Hello
It’s fantastic but it’s not worth that price
bit pricey innit
$80???? this is $50 at most
This is easily the ugliest of this new series of Hogwarts sets. It's a confusing inclusion.
I disagree I think it looks great
Agree! So ugly and cheap :(
$80 for this is plain stupid. Overcharging to the max!
Honestly I am super disappointed with this. Looks very cheap and unimaginative :((( looks like a 20 dollars set

I like this set a lot and I think it works good with the new system
I think it is the front of the castle?
@TommyChapiesky Even if it’s not the front view, I’m ok with a full model of hogwarts
