@@harshyyy my mom is a teacher and hated him for what he was doing for the education system, but since the pandemic started she as been a big fan. Budget cuts happen and they are a part of all politics - someone always gets shafted. The way he is holding up and acting with care for the people and not just the bottom line shows where his heart is - for the people. Not something that is often said with regards to politicians nearing the end of there term.

I know Mayor Ford’s personal life was a mess. However, if you separate the man from the politician, there should be a case study on the way Rob Ford acted as mayor. Yes he had substance abuse issues. Yes he may have had some bad things to say about minorities and the LGBTQ population. Yes he associated himself with some questionable people. Yes he was an international punchline. However, he was also the guy that would always help out the little guy. He was also the guy who had unwavering loyalty to the tax payer. He was also the guy who managed the city’s books like a champion. He was also the guy who knew that the voters were the boss, not the other way around. What other mayor or even any other politician let the general population call his personal phone number if they had a problem? It’s been 8 years since his passing and I still miss him dearly. RIP.
Never was a Conservative supporter but I have to admit, Doug has done a terrific job during this pandemic.

this is ironic considering he cut back funding on programs that would have saved his brothers life. rob was a good man though....
This must be a very sad day for his family, his kids and his supporters.
But.... he was a deeply flawed individual who should never have been elected mayor of Canada's business and financial capital.
Like Mr. Trump in the United States, Mr. Ford spouted nonsense which was supported by voters who are looking for simple answers to the question, "why do we seem to be going backwards economically".
Rob Ford offered simple solutions to these very complex problems including the cutting of funding for public libraries.
Hopefully the Ford Nation can find someone who will address their problems in a more constructive and less addicted way
