The big problem with multiculturalism is often the failure to integrate. It’s as old as history itself. People of a particular ethnicity feel safer amongst their own. Giving rise to ghettoisation.
This is happening all over the country and the indigenous population becomes scared and to some extent paranoid about alleged "no-go" areas. These circumstances give annunciation to people like TR and NF.

    • @JohnSims-xxx
      @JohnSims-xxx 5 місяців тому

What you mean by integration is the abandonment of their creed, culture and religion. Let's be honest.
Nothing will make you happier than Muslims abandoning their parents to care homes......just like the good old salt of the earth brits.

Every single one of these areas has met with resistance and opposition and the thugs have quite often responded in a similar way ! What happened in south port is totally unique the Locals hadn’t a problem with the mosque or the Muslims the problem was outside thugs who were wiped into a frenzy bye nationalists !

When a trigger question is posed, the motive of the questioner needs to be clarified.
For example, “Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?” is a quote attributed to Henry II that preceded the death of Thomas Becket, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1170. Apparently, on hearing that his friend Becket had been killed by four over-zealous knights, Henry wept.
Would a modern-day politician weep if, in response to a trigger question, someone dies?

I think we also have to consider the possibility that a new Labour government may provide some kind of motivation for these right wing protests - its no coincidence.

I will agree with that, in the Leeds case we know it was Roma people (again Muslims were stereotyped). Roma people and Gypsy communities ( including white Gypsies) are known for rejection of society expectations, hence they are normally Nomadic travelers. I went to school that had Gypsy kids, they were the most disruptive kids going, no control. So I have no shock when I saw those riots , as they have extended communities that are largely territorial and dislike outsiders telling them whats expected of them. They are also quick to violence!

@@Markcain268 Not sure, right now the comparisons between Farage and John Tyndall are closing in. Anyone supporting the likes of Farage is no friend of multiculturism and no friend of a United Kingdom under its current disenchantment. We don't want to go back to the 1970s, the country is feeling repercussions of the social and political mirroring of that era of austerity, social inequality, unionist despots and disruption of national infrastructure, poor education, standards in less affluent area schools and the rest. Bad enough it was heading there under the Tories. Farage has no friends in Labor, he knows it. I'm sure the shared camaraderie with Sunak and Starmer also made him feel like a fish out of water. Sometimes the most spiteful individuals refuse to understand they are the problem, so they become more militant. We all understand the social problems, but many of us realize there is a right and wrong way to go about things.
Point to make... Left Wing supporters had no influence under a Conservative government (not that Labour is left wing, its mostly leaning centrist). You have had your time under the Tories and it failed. Is it not better to work under a common cause, let another majority chosen government to repair the damage, cut the riots which means safety for all, better rights and fair representation of all British subjects, than rioting, destruction of property and looting. I am sorry, but Farage is not the man for the job. He cant even get his act in Clacton, but off to grovel for Trump who did not care a jot about Farage during his visit. Farage refuted Trump to stand for Clacton, Trump sees that as disloyalty.

Rioting and destruction has no place. However, you have to use empathy and understand why people are acting like this. These are working class people who are reacting to an event in their community that is out of the norm. Starmer is now going after them instead of looking at the root causes of their anger. They are being labelled as 'out of town far right. Maybe so; on social media some are clearly organising events but there are plenty of locals on the ground. A number of them looked dressed like they had come locally. In fact today the rioter that got hit by his own bricks was named as a painter and decorator from Southport. The very people Starmer needs for his house building projects! The government spinning this is going to make these people more angry. Starmer needs to talk to them directly and give them action on the things he is going to do to sort this out; tell them how he is going to get immigration down; tell them how he is going to stop people from being radicalised; tell them what he is going to do on knife crime. Starmer is not doing this. All he is doing is making them more scared, angry and confused. I am worried that he is an elite lawyer from London who doesn't know how to talk to them directly. Why isn't Rayner out there? I think she would relate to them in a better way than Starmer. She is meant to be Deputy Leader but I think Starmer doesn't have full confidence in her abilities. If Starmer goes directly to the protesters and gives them action, he can short circuit the narrative of the right. Not the full force of the law and censorship. But is he interested in doing this or can he do this?

    • @Red-px1fr
      @Red-px1fr 5 місяців тому

What action do they want? The police already have the culprit in custody and he will be charged in due course. It seems their real problem is that they believe that foreigners, non-white people, and particularly Muslims are a threat. So what action will make them content that isn't mass indiscriminate deportations? What will make them content that is less than the implementation of racist, fascistic government policies?
I have no empathy for them whatsoever. Every normal person with feelings finds the murder of children upsetting, but only a special kind of thicko thinks that's a reason to go to the scene of a tragedy, smash up the neighbourhood and assault police.

    Professor Wilson,
I refer to your video of 31 July 2024 entitled ‘the danger of RT and the social media conspiracists’. Taking up your entreaty in this piece to ‘project friendship … openness [and] questioning’, I wonder if you would consider the following open question of mine: does your stated position here contain a fundamental inconsistency if not an outright contradiction?
On the one hand you identify, surely correctly, that we face today the difficult issue of ‘the fracturing of our society’. However you also make it clear that ‘apportioning blame … is the wrong approach’, and that ‘one single thread, one closed idea that explains everything … is a conspiracy’.
Yet, when it comes to your discussion of the recent incident in Stockport, and the various causes of it that have been put forward you proceed, it seems to me, to precisely apportion the blame you rightly warn against. Who do you blame? Well, isn’t it in the title? You blame - you explicitly name - a media company, RT, that only has a presence in the UK to people who utilize ‘Rumble’ or ‘Odysee’, hardly the majority of people in this country.
Where is the ‘friendship’, the ‘openness’, indeed the ‘questioning’ involved in calling RT a ‘malicious organization’? Why does that not amount, precisely, to ‘apportioning blame’ on your part?
If it is the duty of, particularly the philosopher, to heed Socrates’ claim in respect of ‘the unexamined life’, and to follow the injunction of the Delphic Oracle to ‘Know Yourself’, then doesn’t that mean that if we are going to adequately address some of the profound societal problems that we face we would all do well to try to do what seems to be the most difficult thing of all: Question ourselves, our own biases, our own prejudices, and learn as much as we can about them, rather than grabbing whatever opportunity we can to indulge in them? Thank you.

There are common factors to all these events, one being poverty, the other being towns and inner cities degeneration; young folks being much a part of this type of environment. Must make mention of the homeless as well, it does disturb me, one can only guess how it affects the young.
This is very much oil to the wick, and only needs the match. The far right or far left, to ignite a flame of discontent.
Riots are the flame, the causes are its catalyst. These issues need to be addressed as they are feeding extremist and ethnic divide. The other week I was in the city centre, a homeless person said to me,, why can't I get a room in a hotel but the government puts these asylum folks in them and feeds them?
I couldn't answer, myself later passing the Salvation Army, that always collects for the homeless, I donated cash to their gallant cause.
    Yes, I use cash.
We as citizens along with politicians need to open our eyes to these many problems, that lead to social unrest.
Bored kids on street corners, get bored and when ignored, bad thoughts do sore the mind.
And this is not only restricted to the young.

Merseyside Police officers later recognised a 39-year-old man, who lives in Southport, in the chaotic footage from the riot where he was alleged to have thrown rocks at officers as well as having struck a police van. Amid the violence, one clip showed a member in the rioting crowd approaching police, before he was struck in the back of the head by a brick before a follow-up piece of mortar smacked him in his privates. The man, wearing a grey tracksuit, was then seen limping away from police with a blood running down his head and neck. The man was taken to a nearby hospital following a domestic disturbance, where he allegedly racially abused a fellow patient.
He was later arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, threats to kill and a racially aggravated public order offence. The man was subsequently taken into custody for police interview before being conditionally bailed. Mic drop moment!!

I wonder if The Prof thinks that the large number of family and friends of the Southport victims who fiercely heckled Starmer when he visited the town the other day were a 'faaaar-right mob' ??
Or perhaps The Prof thinks they must have all been members of the 'EDL' (even though it actually ceased to exist more than ten years ago!) 😂

If we are ever so desperate for asylum that we need travel to the Islamic world for it, then we're in a LOT of trouble.

I for one find it hard to make out your modus operandum, Professor. You seem to have the practice of assigning 'heart' responses to many of the comments made, whether the comment is affirmative towards you or whether it's in marked disagreement. But that's all you ever do, it seems. You never tackle a comment head-on, you don't even make a video specifically addressing any comments. Speaking for myself, I would rather have you actually engage with something that's said, than get a reply merely telling me that you liked my comment. Could you please make a video explaining what your approach is and why?

An old woman was walking down the road whan she saw a gang of thugs beating a poisonous snake. She rescued the snake and carried it back to her home, where she nursed it back to health. They became friends and lived together for many months. One day they were going into town and the old woman picked him up and the snake bit her. Repeatedly. "O God," she screamed, "I am dying! Why? I was your friend. I saved your life! I trusted you! Why did you bite me?"
The snake looked up at her and said, "Lady, you knew I was a snake when you first picked me up."
