- We ride along in a Volvo 30 ton haul truck as well as a 30 ton Komatsu to see the comparison between the two. In my humble opinion, the Volvo seemed to outperform the Komatsu slightly on the hillclimbs. Hopefully we'll be able to outrun the trash as excavation continues! Stay tuned to see if we beat the mining deadline!! #mining #heavyequipment #heavymachinery #mrdigg

As a heavy equipment mechanic it seems Volvo is the way to go, look at letsdig18’s and Dirt Perfect’s haul trucks. They are old but still running strong with little down time due to breakdowns.
And I want to acknowledge that every worker there is happy and their attitude doesn’t change when you come around. I haven’t found a place in Arizona where management/owners have respect for their employees like yourself.
The mechanic is coming out in me now sounds like the Volvo has a small air leak.
Keep up all the great videos and Great Attitude!
Appreciate the feedback!
I was going to say much the same regarding employees; everyone appears happy to be there, polite & hard at work.
Chris' latest truck didn't start off too well with that transfer box disaster but looks to be going solidly now.
Mr digg I checked and you're within 20 horsepower on the trucks. What the difference is is the komatsu has got 1237 lb ft of torque while the Volvo has 1535 lb ft of torque that is why the Volvo is more powerful and stronger.
wow what a difference
Oh, so the matsu needs to do a lot of revving to do the same amount of work
Yeah Ryan , Volvo definitely has the haul trucks figured out with power, comfortability, they got it figured out
I have to agree with you buddy
Love the video Ryan.
great showcase on this vid thanks
❤ from Norway
Great job 👍🏻 love how Anderson plays with his necklace and how he has a hole in his shirt 8:49 love the stuffed animal love how you did thumbs up for a ride let’s dig has a button on the floor in his trucks 28:53 that transition 29:39 love the grinding sound 31:45 love the bird flying over
Hilarious music, Ryan.
Never ran a haul truck. We just used tandem dump trucks as we had to get on the highway 98% of the time. Other than that, it looks like mining clay, from the excavator to dumping over the pile. Clay is a lot harder to dig and comes out in a lot bigger pieces. lol. It was fun to see how a haul truck works from the inside.
Hey Mr.Digg you guys hiring? The land fill looks like a great place to work and great people to work for. Keep up the awsome videos.
I'm speaking from an employee point of view at their landfill and they are an amazing group of people to work with. I had zero experience when they first hired me. I have learned SOOO much in the time I have been with his company
Comparisons are always a good thing. That "screen" help make my decision.. Go with Volvo.
😎😎👍👍
Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome!
Hithere Chris here missed you on the national equipment league, Mike at dirtt perfect and mbts had the hyundai and mbts fell in love with it but Mike also drove the Volvo aswell give him a call love yours channels keep em coming cheers Chris take care and good luck getting the cell opened up cheers Chris uk
My summertime fun car for the past 12 years is a convertible Volvo- great speed, awesome sound system, but not great gas milage. Hope this helps LOL. Great video again.
Volvo every time the best
I believe I have to agree with you!
Hundred percent and if you compare the Volvo to a Deere truck the volvo looks even better
Cool video, viewing from County Sligo Ireland 🇮🇪 🇺🇦🤠🚲📷✍
Hey SLIGO!
The speed difference is visible... The Volvo is the one that has to wait 🙂
sweet volvo haul truck
Volvo are certainly the leaders in articulated dumpers 💪💪💪
The gear ratios will have an input, too....
Dirt Perfect had a Hyundai on loan over last summer, he couldn't get Aaron out of it 😂
They use Scania engines in their dumpers, so it does have Swedish pedigree in it 🇸🇪
Hey Ryan I think that Volvo trackhoe needs greased badly. Pins and bushings are expensive. Cool video.
Looks like they both will get the job done........but, from the conversations looks like I agree with you on the Volvo.. Next!
Hyundai up next
Howdy Mr DiGG
Tug!!!
I really like the Volvo Haul Truck! After seeing Dirt Perfect and Lets Dig 18 using one Volvo is the truck! One quick question: Have you reached out to CAT on there Haul Truck? Thanks for the video! Amazing operation you have there!
Need to try a CAT
Good show
Thanks for watching!
Welding a plate or angle iron to the stick above the main bucket pin with a piece of conveyor belt bolted to it helps keep sand and dirt out of the bucket pins and doesn’t let the sand run the grease out of it
Good tip!
That trash is creeping up fast.
That Volvo haul truck sure is comfortable to run as far as haul trucks go. Especially compared to the Terex 😅 that thing flies too. Especiallyyy in reverse. It’s like it has multiple reverse gears.
Digging sand has to be hard on the excavators. But most people don't get to make money creating landfill space!
Damn that trash is pushing you a lot faster than you thought.
You aint kidding!
Those darn hurricanes!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Volvo every time. Over 20,000 hr life of Truck It will beat every one of them hands down, I've worked on all of em except the Hyundai.
Resale value, fuel burn, operator comfort, maintenance and $ per ton = Volvo. Hyundai looks like a decent truck and they are trying hard to get a foot in the market but it is unproven so far over time. Initial investment cost is higher, but Volvo is a clear winner IMO. Have a great weekend guys.
Mr Digg hope u will try a CAT haul truck
Kinda feels like your driving around in circles😂😂
Looks like you need to get with Chris and have him loan you the 350 with the big bucket.
Right?!
@@TheRealMrDiGG you guys wont whant to give back after using that beast
Don’t think Chris would loan it ,plus he would want the trucks and diggers looked after as in grease etc
@@colinkennedy8730 you know that
Since 2010 I run heavy equipment up to 2022. I’ve been in articulate trucks majority of my career to me Volvo is a lot better truck like cat John Deere ain’t bad. I still wish I could run heavy equipment, but for safety reasons I can’t but life moves on. Stay safe in your sandbox. Enjoy watching the videos wishing I was running equipment I miss the smell of diesel engines and listen to mine and the oils. I know it sounds weird but to people that don’t run heavy equipment, but people that run heavy equipment get the idea of it diesel in the veins and always remember safety third
Mr. dig I deliver parts for NAPA to a construction company that’s not too far from our store and I was talking to the guy the other day and said if I had what one of them cost, I wouldn’t have to work for a week or two he told me that that truck we were talking about cost over a half $1 million so I know it’s a big investment to keep operation going invested in equipment and choosing the right equipment and he said that was one of 10 that they had wow stay safe keep the videos coming and always enjoy them
I keep mentioning to them every video about the Hyundai Haul truck it has just one driveshaft not to drive shafts so it has just one pumpkin how it drives for Wheels I'm not sure it would have to be chain drive I'm thinking
A lot of combines and tractors now are well over a million. That's not including heads or implements. Everything is getting crazy expensive
Check out the Hundai equipment.
As a young boy the only dump truck i knew was a Volvo we called them a weasel because they old ones had a long snout hood
You need a guy on 2nd shift doing odd and end jobs. Changing pins, greasing, smoothing roads etc etc
So in Geogia it's not required to line the pit to slow or stop leaching into the ground water/aquifer ?
We’re in SC but no liner necessary for C&D
@TheRealMrDiGG just curious.
Thanks
There's a 2017 Bell B40E at Palmetto Machinery, Andrews they're willing to rent out.
Might be worth a demo if that's not too far away.
Were you holding the camera for the intro ? Asking for a friend .
Thanks for sharing 👍 The guys are doing a great job 👍
This is not my cup of tea.
🥂
Great time to check fuel consumption.
Good idea
Reminds me of when we had to strip ground at the pit so could make it bigger to pump out of the lake for more sand and gravel different set up but we had cat big dump trucks for that and could drive them down the road to fuel up when tank was low i hauled out of one place that had about a mile of converyor belt to move material to go to the seperater for material to be classified
That is a lot of nice sand. I wonder how long it took to deposit that amount of sand. I wonder what geologists have to add to the information. That would be interesting. Maybe a local school would be interested in reviewing such an interesting piece of land. Your right, what a great job you have. LOL!!!
It’s a lot of sand! 😂
I have probably 10,000+ hrs driving John Deere, Volvo, Hyundai and Kamatsu quarry trucks - 25's, 30's and 40's - Volvo all the way is the best, as you say, they have nailed that machine design. Power/comfort/handling/tipping/visibility/operator satisfaction/maintenance ease & costs is the best available across the manufacturer choices. Hyundai is then a close 2nd imo, followed by Komatsu. I would never want to hire/ own a John Deere/ Bell or Terex haul truck - dont waste your time/ money/ mechanical hassle with them.
Bell and John Deere used to be in a partnership. Bell is a South African company they made and sold them there. John Deere would take them and sell them in the United States under their name. That partnership needed in January 2023. Now John Deere makes their own haul trucks and bell sells theirs in the United States under their own name.
Good to know, thanks!
Volvo has 355 h. P. Komatsu is 332 h. P.
I wonder why there is no air ride cab on heavy equipment. Is there some drawback to that, or maybe the suspended seat is enough?
It just isnt on the trainers seat
Volvo , nuff said .... of course, not my bank account ..... hehe..
Think snow... sorry i like to share. Im getting tired of it . Your videos make me want summer sooner. Lol
Summer’s coming soon buddy!
I was just wondering what is up with no Cats in the lineup???
Maybe soon?
good undercarriage shots. will be interesting to see how the Hyundai does. in my working on car days we used to call the cars ovlovs. well that was humorous in the late 70s anyway.. i see IC weld and on fire welding fixing a lot of ungreased heavy equipment pin damage. usually results in oblong holes and the use of a portable line boring tool to build them back up and then cut them to size.
Thankfully we didn’t lose another GoPro! 😂
@@TheRealMrDiGG as much mentioning of GoPro as you do they should be providing the cameras for free, no questions asked.
Ya mate DP could not fault the Hyundai 30 he tried out and Chris had big wraps on that Hyundai 45 he hired. I guess we will see how the 30 works out in your situation bro. Great video by the way. Ken.
Appreciate the feedback Ken!
Ask Aaron from dirt perfect about the Hyundai Haul truck
Ok will do
Why the trucks are loaded being behind the excavator? wouldn't be more efficient having them on the side of the excavator? that would redice the rotation radius of the machine speeding up the process.
Ofc that is not possibile in the scenario shown in this video since the excavator is sitting lower than the trucks but you were doing the same in the past videos too..
Komatsu hp-332
I don’t know which one is better, but I know they are both better than mine.
Thought lad would off grease Volvo digger by now
Yipes whars the grease gun~!
Sonds like needs greasing more often lol
after the first run in the Komatsu I can 100% say I prefer the Volvo ... the Komatsu seams a little bit less powerful
Same to me
Yes deere and bell are or at least used to be the same garbage
Volvo has 355 horsepower,Hyundai HA30A 375 horsepower, Komatsu HM300-5 332 horsepower,
I would imagine the komatsu is better on fuel that’s why it’s gutless and the Volvo is more wide open power with more fuel burn
hearing the volvo screming for grese is pain full to hear just goes to show no one cares about wearing metal out. as for dump tucks backing down having to wait there is enough room for 3 to park side by side down there, looks like nick needs loads of lessons, reverse in 2 makes it quicker, dont rev engine and let the rams hit full stroke all showes a bad driver and needs to be shown looks like you just chuck someone in and let them get on with it
I write comments every single video about greasing and I don't think they care
Excavator should be higher than the truck
I'm just curious, is there a reason you don't go deeper? Poor sand quality? Permitting issues? As for the Bell and Deere trucks. John Deere's trucks used to be Bell designed and built by Deere. The new Deere trucks are both designed and built by Deere. Given a choice of any articulated truck out there, I would choose Volvo every time, hands down. That's with firsthand experience with Volvo, Cat, Deere, Bell, Moxy and Terex.
Volvo is 355
have you though about rent a 40 ton dumptruck
Turn the e mode off it will cut power in half sr
i know its not ideal... but they can get that truck next to the hoe... not behind em... its taking twice as long to load it ...get the truck beside the hoe not behind it, the 360 loading, and you can run a 3erd truck if u wanted... truuuuust me... i know from years of experience...get the cycle time of that hoe down and the hauling will go twice as fast... i know you know this mr.digg... use ur big boy voice and make them boys do it your way... not their way... babysitting... i mean supervising aint so bad... sometimes...
Komtso 30 ton offroadd truck is324hp
Maybe you should look up spes, It's your money ! Unless you don't give a crap about what's running in your yard, if you don't know, LEARN, unreal
Greasy operator grease that ish
can you deeper
Nope
I can't even watch anymore with all that squeaking it's fucking embarrassing
Sand is a lot harder on equipment I can see why the Volvo is screaming
