Unexpected but pleasantly surprised! This is the third and shortest review I watched, but you answered an important question: the trainer port. Really miss your no-nonsense reviews, thanks!
Great review. Straigt forward and focused! The digital gimbal was a surprise to me. Your wish for head-tracking is probably ahead of our time. Keep it up
With regards to the wireless trainer, there *is* an AUX port UART inside the radio on the mainboard, so you should be able to connect up a small receiver to that and use it for wireless trainer (as long as the receiver can output uninverted SBUS, which all ELRS receivers can).
No, you connect an RX to the UART and bind the trainee radio to that RX. Then it is just another trainer input to the trainer TX and you can use the EdgeTX trainer mode to use it
This one looks tempting. Not sure if I would miss the color touchscreen of the TX16s I have now but think not having to install the module every time would fly because the transmitter doesn’t fit in the case with a module would make up for it.
I've been wanting to get into ELRS since the new HDZero AIO dropped. While I'm still undecided, and can't afford it right now, this radio looks absolutely gorgeous. Also, glad to hear from ya.
Thanks. Strong review. Lots of (user-) information, no marketing blabla. This is the first GX12 review I watched and I have enough information to decide on this one 👍
Good to see a new video from you Andy. I'm a mode 1 flier too btw! The 5000mah Radiomaster battery in my TX16S looks like it should fit once the 18650 cage is removed?
OLED is an interesting choice, I'd be worried about burn in over the long term with the generally static information it'll display. worries aside, it does look a lot better than my boxer's display. can the folding sticks be locked into position?
Its T for tension. under that cover theres 2 1.5mm screws one increases the clamp for the throttle stick tension. the other adds a ratchet to the throttle. this is separate to the overall stick tension which you can adjust via other screws behind the rubber grips
I liked the detailed review you did, congratulations! Those antennas are pretty crooked for a brand-new radio, plus the small monochrome display, limited throws of the sticks (which makes you increase the rates), a lot of momentary buttons out of the box, loose gimbals, the sticks look quite fragile, and other things make the radio look pretty cheap. It may be good for drones (I won't argue), but no one seriously involved in flying fixed wings or helicopters will like it (not talking about fpv flying wings), so please don't try to get RM into all areas of the hobby! You are misleading many of those entering the hobby with this, and in general, RC flying is definitely not just drones. Even if we are talking about FPV. Nothing personal, just an opinion! Regards!
@@AndyRCchannel yeah i was going to mention, the grips on the back of the nv14, i dont use a lanyard and i sit to fly, so the grips are essential, i even thought of adding them to my original radio, ... anyway i put cnc gimbals in the nv14 and its performing well enough.
ELRS is not the open source version of anything. It's designed from the ground up to be reliable and have arbitrary telemetry, by people who have radio as a passion, not a paycheck. ELRS in no way compares to the FRsky attempt to use a bad protocol to lock in a market.
Made in China garbage. Already a broken gimbal tension screw. Cracked in half. Now I have to wait 2 weeks until they even read my email due to their holiday. Last year I bought a Pocket which came DOA. I even have bad luck or Radiomasters quality control is horrendous.
Sorry to hear that I think you have had some really bad luck there as iv personally never had a problem. Luckily as hopefully you will find their customer service is great. It is double bad luck this has happened in Chinese new year. All the best

Andy - good to see you making videos again :)
Thanks Wayne
Glad you are back my friend!! The way you make your reviews are unique!!
Thanks I try my best 😁
Always a pleasant surprise to see an AndyRC video in my subs.
Thank you :)
Back to the reviews!!! It’s great to see you doing this!
Thanks great to have you also
Unexpected but pleasantly surprised! This is the third and shortest review I watched, but you answered an important question: the trainer port.
Really miss your no-nonsense reviews, thanks!
Thank for noticing 😊 I did go out of my way to try and get to the main points as quickly as I could thanks for watching
As always, it was an excellent review. It's great to see a video from ya.
Thank you 😊
Thanks Andy, great review, lovely to get one from yourself again
Thanks for watching 😊
Great review. Straigt forward and focused! The digital gimbal was a surprise to me. Your wish for head-tracking is probably ahead of our time. Keep it up
Yes I will keep asking till they do it haha. Thanks for watching
@AndyRCchannel which transmitters do support it wirelessly?
@@saturn_fpv the 2019 x9d has a built in Bluetooth trainer. I think the horus, xlite, qx7 also does.
This is the fastest and to the point review I've seen on this radio 👏
Thanks Andy 😀
Thanks for noticing. I put a lot of effort in to try and make it to the point as possible
Mads did some measuring and they're the same throws as AG01 gimbals, and fairly larger than the zorro gimbals
I find them a shorter throw than the ag01 myself
@@AndyRCchannelDo you have the sticks adjusted to be the same length as on the radio with AG01s?
@@xer125Check out my flight video after this one as I changed my mind on the gimbals
Love to see the review. Also, geprc and bayck have had a gemx rx for a while now (release date corrected in reply)
Actually bayck’s was out in mid July
GepRC in September
It's great to see you back, Andy! 😃
Thanks a bunch for the review!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for sticking with me
@AndyRCchannel Oh, don't worry! 😊
So nice to see you still making videos. I have not seen any in a while. I hope your health is well.
I'm still struggling to get sorted but still want the end goal to be making frequent videos again. Thanks

@@malte9999 ah I see. I'm wanting to use wireless trainer as a head tracker input so that's not the reason I wish it had a Bluetooth one. Thx
I've missed these videos from you, Andy! Nice and quick review, thanks! I personally will stay with the Boxer Crush, which is perfect for my needs.
Yes I prefer the boxer also. Thanks 😊
This one looks tempting. Not sure if I would miss the color touchscreen of the TX16s I have now but think not having to install the module every time would fly because the transmitter doesn’t fit in the case with a module would make up for it.
Yes that is really annoying. Just had to do it now as I'm going out haha
Excellent review Andy❗
I appreciate your work...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Long time no see Andy 😊🙏🏻🍀
I've been wanting to get into ELRS since the new HDZero AIO dropped. While I'm still undecided, and can't afford it right now, this radio looks absolutely gorgeous. Also, glad to hear from ya.
Oh the new AIO does seem very interesting, I wish the goggles would come down in price at some point
Thanks for this great review! Let's hope that CE is coming soon so we can use it legally within the EU :)

Great info on the digital gimbals !
Thank 😊
miss your videos bro
Thanks stu. Hope to get back to regular videos one day but iv lost most of my contacts. Good to see you back also
That looks soo nice honestly. I've gone to using my DJI controller 2 for everything though these days even though I have 3 other controllers.
I still use my DJI controller for my O2 based models
Guess who's back? Slim Shaady!
Glad to see your content again
I wish I was slim haha. Thanks
Gotta say, they nailed it with the look of the tx in my opinion.
Welcome back 🙂
I'm still happy with my TX 16, but maybe there will be a GX 16 in the TX form factor. Some of the features are interesting.
I was thinking the same!
Looks like a decent radio. Thanks for the thorough review.
The man is back!!!!
Hope your keeping well fella, I'm still rocking all your OG signature moves💯
Haha yes thanks for sticking with me. Good to hear

Good review. Is the 868 lbt ? I don't think it is yet so the 900 band is not legal in the uk/eu anyway ... ?
None of it is lbt at the moment.
Well comeback Andy ❤
what a great full featured radio, wish was less wide, but still okey
Good to see a new video from you Andy. I'm a mode 1 flier too btw! The 5000mah Radiomaster battery in my TX16S looks like it should fit once the 18650 cage is removed?
I think radiomasters own 5000mah battery will fit. Mode 1 for the win
Welcome back brother! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Appreciate it!!
Mode 1??? Love it ❤
Yes hehe :)
Hi Andy. I am having trouble setting up a simple wing with thi Tx and Betaflight micro Rx . please run through that- the elevon set-up seems mddled.
OLED is an interesting choice, I'd be worried about burn in over the long term with the generally static information it'll display. worries aside, it does look a lot better than my boxer's display.
can the folding sticks be locked into position?
They can't be locked but when folded they won't move. They tension themselves in
Only drawback, the fancy color leds could be a "pain in the eyes" when flying the evening...
Andy what's the T cover on the back of the radio. Great video Andy.

Andy's back 😊
Well, Where have you been??
I have some medical issues I'm trying to get addressed. Thanks for sticking with me
Thanks for the review! Can someone tell me if the regular Elrs receiver HappyModel EP1 won't work with this remote?
It will work yes
Staying with Boxer for now. Thanks Andy
Me also thx

Andy! Long time no see❤
I don’t know what any of what you said means. I just like watching your hands.
Good review, thank you. Good to see you back. Will not buy this radio, i see not enough reasons to upgrade my boxer.
I prefer the boxer form factor myself also
ELRS even more confusing menu, LOL so true.
