1 year later ~ You are still helping!... I noticed my Tusk sensor was loose in the radiator fin, and thus my thermostat was being a bit "buggy"... Looked on YT to find some solution... and You popped up! ... I wired it to the fins, as you showed here (did not "paste it" tho)..... and..... Problem Solved!! Thank You Morgan... Great quick fix!
Good idea. Just noticed mine backing out the other day. I pushed it back in. Going to have to find the paste though. Moved to lock on grips and still have some left over stainless safety wire and plyers.
love how sherco has it off the head of the machine, instant accurate readings. plus just wire it onto a relay so running only when bike is on, fixes dead battery issues.
That is nice. I really don't want one on this bike because it wasn't built for going slow like a sherco (LOL) but I am going to try a hard enduro on it. Once I get a new W model I will strip this thing back down to a real race bike again.
Holy shit that's cool to watch. I did this exact thing on my old ktm years ago when it kept falling out. I've done it on every one I've installed since on mine and customer bikes! I use grip wire
i’ve noticed that the sensor probe cuts into the radiator with engine vibration. had to move it 2x so far because i’m worried about it cutting all the way through and causing a leak
The top bolt that holds fan together is hitting the tank on my '23 450xc , did you grind yours down ? I'm thinking of taking that bolt out and using a couple zip ties. Its hard to tell from your video, your bolt looks grinded on ?
@@zachseverance1646 thanks. I have run this fan and the evo light from Motominded a bunch with no issue. That is about the very limit but it hasn’t let me down yet.

Easy fix nice and neat good idea 🤘
Thanks 👍
Thank you
You should do a video on everything that should be lockwired. Brake pins, oil filler etc
Great idea
good tip, gonna do this today. It's -15C, wtf else am gonna do :D Looks like next saturday is -4 tho, LETS GO!
YEAH!!
That's a great tip!
Glad you liked it
Top tip cool 👍
Thanks im gonna do that to mine also 😁😁😁
Mine just kept coming out. Really don't know why.

Great fix! Mine fell out recently and going to do this. What is the compound used for the temp sensor? I got my fan used and didn't have any
I looked it also because I was wondering what then”paste” was. Looking the tusk kit online it says comes with “thermal paste”.
@@CoolEyeColorado yeah I saw the same. Just not sure what exactly that is so I can buy some more
It’s called thermal paste. Not sure where to buy it separately
I just zip tied mine.
Did you use the same fan as a 2020 would use. Haven’t seen an option for the 2023 for the tusk fan
Yes
I have been searching for the Tusk fan that fits the 2023 XC 300 but they dont list it (only the XCW 300) Which one did you get? Thanks in advance
It is the one that fits the 22 bikes
@@highlandcycles Appreciate it, thanks

I did grind it down. Others have replaced with a button head
@@highlandcycles I just took bolt out and put a couple zip ties through it ,I'll look for a button head bolt and replace it later
Mine never fell out but with a couple years of vibration, it wore a small hole in the core and leaked.
I just wish they would make a fan that uses the temp sensor that is already on the damn bike for the FI
I usually just use a dab of jb weld .
no issues with this fan on the 2023 300xc? Stator can output enough?
Yes. This fan draws half of what the trail tech does
@@highlandcycles you are the man! Idk why this was so hard to track down an answer lol keep up the good work!

Been having the same issue 😫
Super annoying. But this fixed it
High Temp Silicone, holding strong for 2 years 😂
Good idea too
Awaiting the critique of the safety wiring by some anally retentive Aircraft Mechanic 🤣
Oh yeah
