He (and the rest of the Monkeys) hates to do stupid interviews with repeating questions like "are you excited before the show" or stuff like that. He just doesn't have great social skills. And I know a guy who knows him and yeah. He is in fact shy.

First two albums were fire. Went to see them in concert for the third and just when it would get really jumping, the slow third album stuff would kill the excitement. Everyone would get so bummed. Caught a recent song's video where he's walking through a mansion that was just terrible. Still thankful for those first two albums though.
It seems he doesn't get held accountable and that he's surrounded by yes men and women. It's not his fault but he's just always relying on his charm to get him everywhere. It appeals to people who already like you but you're not going to win anyone over.
