That's how every liberal town city & state works has been that way for 20+ years. Half that council was not white & openly acknowledged trying to cover up the Brave Cave or defunding the police or ignoring career criminals. That one council member trying to blame the police chief while trying to save face that he wasn't trying to blame the chief yet regardless is still just as responsible for everything including Brave cave going on & the failure that lead to this & BR becoming a cesspool. Look at any liberal group or news organization over the next few days & tell me they don't try & spin this & all the problems of any level all the way up to federal level on racism & cover up that half the council & most if not all the city leadership is not white. He had already said he knew about the site, but only as a narcotics processing site for an undercover drug unit. He claims he didn’t know about the nickname or other things being done. He was mad because they tried to pin it in him.

He concealed it with emotional drivel and fluff the same way the councilwoman did with the standing up bullshit even though she and others knew about everything for a while and did nothing. The Chief of Police is appointed by, and reports to, the Mayor. The Chief is assisted by four Deputy Chiefs who are appointed by The Chief of Police. All other police positions are promotional and based on seniority, as mandated by state civil service law.

Only after she did, did other council members stand to admit knowing much sooner about it & did nothing. Its sad though how many people openly tried to cover up not just the argument that was in the hall but in the council room. Born and raised in Louisiana. This is why over 70% of educated people move out of the state once they graduate. Corrupt police force, corrupt politicians, crime, high taxes and insurance, and poor revenue. One of the poorest states in the nation. It’s truly sad that it only takes a few to ruin a whole entire state. If you have the means move out while you can. It’s only going to get worse.

This is pretty much common sense. If you take away resources and money, it'll effect the overall production. So if the town continues to defund the police, they can not expect them to produce the same results. It is not Chef Paul's fault at all, he is working with what he is given. These councilmembers don't want to take the heat for their crummy decisions so they are trying to push the blame onto him. Good for Chef Paul for not standing for it and telling the truth. So few people still have the guts to do this. I'm sure there are 1,000 departments that would love, and would be lucky, to have him. Let this town rot from the inside out.
