@@PianoLessonwithWarren dreams come to pass . I like the way gospel folk come together. i loved you got with sean wilson and now corey taylor.. i Could see this coming.. so my online tutors together .
Sean, Deyquan, now Corey!!! Warren, you killing it dude. All you guys are ‘STRAIGHT FIRE’ !!!! Thanks Warren for taking the time to expose us to these ‘ SKILLED musicians ‘.
Corey and Warren!! it was a boom. Apart from piano lesson today, i have learnt never to be selfish in learning the piano. I realized that my teacher Warren was eager to learn some skills from Corey. The fact i heard him say that Corey has more skills in the drop 2 department and Master in Jazz. Thanks Warren and Corey, keep on inspiring the gospel musical world guys. Jesus your reward.
These are two great pianists but after watching countless videos, I’ve come to realize that Warren knows how to explain it so that the learners can practice it efficiently. Others get too caught up or in them playing the piano during the tutorial or they are simply not able to explain coherently what it is that they are playing. Thank you for the tutorial
This is the guy who taught me scales... He has a vid explaning scales ⚖ from major to pentatonic, chromatic etc... He truly changed me.. That was before I came across your channel Mr Warren... And then you came with a gospel sound.. I'll truly be grateful if you do most of your stuff together... Truly learn a lot from you Mr warren
This is a great gift of the year. I first begun by following Corey Taylor he opened my mind to advanced piano but I couldn't understand his staffs coz they were more advanced then I one time saw Warren and I looked at it so easier. U two guys are very fundamental to my music progress. Warren u ar a good inspirer so humble with much corporation inviting different great teachers to partner in helping Gospel musicians, Bro your work will never go in vain God will surely reward u bro and your generation.
I love the idea of practicing the major chord types in isolation, then in a harmonic context, then in a melodic context. Such a great, intuitive way to learn these things. You could even practice replacing the V in ii/V/I with its tritone substitute.
Tell you what brother Warren, this video is a gold mine for me. Thank you for always thinking about us. I knew what drop two chords are but the way to practice has been a challenge until I watched this.
i know that man he is a great pianist as well... i thought i was the only one watching his videos.. Very soon we will be over to pretty simple music...
Thank you for this. I appreciate the time it takes to put this together, and for bringing such another talented fellow. Hug your parents for helping you know the keyboard. Everyone.
This shows how humble these gentlemen are. Even at their level they are still willing to learn, and that's what makes them even greater. Musicians these days know less and yet they act too bossy as if they know it all , but they are nowhere near amateur. Keep up the good job gentlemen. God bless
When you learn it teach, we'll get it from beginning to advance. Thank you guy's. Like you do in your online lessons. From major to 7th to 9th ect! Love it and love your humility Sir Warren!!
Hey I'm from Jamaica... You are my teacher I love the way you play and teach your like the best!! Last night I saw I video with you and Corey Taylor doing the drop 2 Voicing and I was like wow This is amazing.... So I'm asking you please can you do a video on it in all 12 keys
Wow Bro. Warren, this tutorial is great and very helpful. I'm working the song O Come to the Altar using Trey McLaughlin approach to the song for this coming Resurrection Day (in April). And drop 2 Voicing will help me have a fuller and richer sound. Thank you again Warren for doing these tutorials.
Both of you sir I've subscribe. It's very interesting that musicians sharing ideas that develop an additional information, knowledge weel thats Good for me.
Good evening sir, thank you so much for such an informative and helpful topic. I'm a big fan your work,, although I would like to ask how do I decide which chord to use on a note that I pick as my melody. I struggle a lot to determine a chord for the melody that comes through my mind especially when I try messing around on the keyboard. Please help
Nice harmonies around 15:00. According to baroque voicing, the bass should not move up and down like the melody does. Moves against the melody are best. NG from Czech Rep.
Wow, this just popped up in my suggestions. Great explanation and dialogue of the drop 2 concepts, but I can't play!!!! Oh well, I'm off in search of video lesson #1
So then the drop two is quite literally "WHATEVER" the 2nd highest note in the chord is period? Its not based on in the case of a Cmajor 7 chord dropping the 5the per se, it's dropping the 2nd highest note. Correct? so if I played a Cmaj 7 in 2nd inversion as E G B C, it would be spelled in drop 2 voicing as B in the left hand and E G C in the right? Correct? Please reply and thanks.
