I agree. From what I've gathered following her for a couple of years she has been fighting it pretty much from the on set in the 60's/70's, but the rest of us have only court on to it with in the last decade when GamerGate began. Although there were others who were also pretty much on their own as well like Erin Pizzey. It can't have been an easy battle for any of them, and you really got to admire their strength, resiliency, and ethics to never have given up. Maybe that's why we refer to her as based "mum".

This is a very simple situation: if you want a "safe space" where you have the right not to be offended of challenged, you can stay home--if you want a great education and to actually make something of your life, go to college. I got my poli-sci degree a couple years back and will get my MPA in couple months, and cannot count the number of times I have gotten into brutal and loud arguments on political issues (both with professors and students). That is part of the experience and, if you can't handle this, you aren't mature enough for school or, at minimum, you should transfer into a much more happy subject (ex. interpretive dance).

+SternMann93 It's never going to happen. Feminists in general can only hold to their delusional ideals so long as they don't get challenged, the last thing they will do is show up to have a discussion on their ideals or even just a conversation.

Listen to the guy - he is not unintelligent, but you can tell that if he were to have someone on that he disagreed with, and that individual was at all pushy, Dave wouldn't be able to keep the interview on track, he wouldn't be able to ask hard questions and then A, make sure the feminist actually answered the question, or B, refute the illogical misinformation the feminist used in his or her answer.

      +Yup Nope
Sure, there are good feminists - CHF "Based Mom" is one of them.
There are no good "radical" feminists. That is an oxymoron. Radical feminists use poor data and flat out falsehoods to advance a poisonous agenda-driven narrative that has absolutely nothing to do with equality.

    • @Joosejpr

It wouldn't be a debate, rational or otherwise. These people might agree to do it but only because they'd see it as a platform where they can further their cause. The extremely self deluded ones would enjoy it because it would afford them the opportunity publicly to humiliate Dave, as a man. The weaker ones wouldn't and couldn't because they'd have to hide behind their own invented phraseology, using it as a 'safe space'. These people don't want reality or reason to intrude into their lives and much prefer to aggressively humiliate anyone who dares to question the reality of what they're doing. To talk to Dave in a rational way would undermine the power base they've tried to create for themselves.

I am 49 years of age and I still suffer from my PTSD caused by me being physically and psychologically abused by both of my parents in during all of my childhood and teenage years, I got beaten a lot (sometimes they used objects to beat me up), I got emotionally neglected, I got screamed at and I still often show classic signs of PTDS like rage attacks, reoccuring depressions, nightmares, suicidal thoughts, having a bad conscience for no apparant reason, etc.,etc. It got a bit better during the last 10-15 years, but it's not gone and I fear it will never go away completely until the day that I'll die. AND I know that many people suffering from PTSD caused by worse stuff than what happened to me, have it even harder, like f.e. veterans and civilians, who experienced war, rape victims, victims of sexual child abuse, etc.. I feel highly offended when people say, they got PTSD just from listening to somebody having a different opinion than themselves, especially when this person speaks in a calm and collected manner like Christina Hoff Sommers does. These people don't even understand what PTSD IS and they can go fuck themselves in their "safe spaces". And I AM a "leftist".

Adding to Gamergate and how some feminists demonize male sexuality, it seems like part of the so-called "second wave" of feminism was the sexual liberation of women. It became okay for women to be sexual and to look at men (or other women). As a gay man I certainly feel liberated that I am finally not ashamed for my sexual feelings. I would certainly not want to demonize others for their feelings!

Remember when they first brought grief counselors into schools after a student died. That was the start of a generation that couldn't cope with crisis, without help. When I was a teen if some student was killed drinking and driving, they had an assembly and said this is what happens when you do that. We learned to rely on our family and friends to deal with these issues. If people now are upset by seeing a flyer, or a campaign sign, or ball cap, how will they deal with disease and death as adults?

Mr. Rubin, you are my new favorite show! I found you looking at Milo's stuff and I am BLOWN AWAY, sadly actually, that you are one of the few liberals who is understanding what is going on in our culture. I am however very happy you are reaching across the political divide which is used to manipulate us and actually talking about the issues from various perspectives with different voices. It's so tragic to me that there is so much shouting, attacks, violence and utterly dumbed down conversations, if people talk at all in our culture but this situation is being fueled and feeds the new industries in our society.

It is just nice seeing people that are open to being open on your show and that you bring in people that can speak on subjects without it being an unfocused mess. It is also nice seeing complicated matters discussed with knowledge. Can't tell you how frustrating it is to see a complete lack of understanding of what debate equals personally and in the bigger picture.

It's so incredible to see how your channel grows and what guests you bring on to your show. These types of conversations are very needed in my home country Sweden, as you know. I was watching your conversation the Gad Saad the other day, were you mentioned that you would like to speak with a Swede on your show, so how's that going? :)
Thank you so much for your videos and conversations Dave.

@2:47 - YEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!! OMG, you just said it so casually... So many people are getting caught up in the fight for "equality" that they forget the facts. It isn't a bad thing that men and women are DIFFERENT - and not in all ways, but some ways it's obvious. Many of these differences are non-determinate factors in most life decisions, while others are more important. Some of these differences are caused by our culture, and some are natural. Some could or should be changed, and others are just fine and make the genders unique - and that goes for ALL genders and sexes, not just the stereotypical 2. I'm so unbelievably happy that you just said what you said @2:47+ THANK YOU!!!

I'm not saying this to be thirsty or anything but despite her old age this lady is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen and I mean that in every way that a woman can be beautiful. She's just on another level and she warms my heart. It's actually legit painful that so many women are so far removed from the decency and virtue that she openly displays and the fact that she's fought this fight for over 20 yrs against the vindictive spiteful man-haters gives me a bit of hope. Thank you, based mom.
