Nice find.... They haven't become popular in RSA yet, as it is with the pick up or SWB versions. Second row doors very prone to rust, and very scarce / expensive to replace..if you can find any.... Sweet sound of those 6 x cylinders humming away. Nice video 👌🏻 🇿🇦
Wicked guys. We are building two 2.6l trucks. A flat deck 1978 S3 109. And a 1964 Forward Control. I spent the day getting a 2.6l engine running/idling. We now have 4 of them. Great to see a running version.
Bought my 1974 S2b FC, 2,6lt with 4745km on the clock, sold it 6 years later with 13566km on, saddest day, biggest mistake, but you can't keep them all... Was between the 2b or the 101 that had to go ...still got the 109 5 door 2,6lt....sweetest sound...
Second the comment about the music but….really engaging, natural and watchable video, well done mate!!! I guess the trick is with all these vlogs is to keep em coming which I hope you can do. As for the 109….wishing you all the best with the turning circle, my 90 Puma is bad enough (as you’ll know all too well). All the best for the future, I’ll subscribe now 😊 PS: What a super bloke to buy this from…seems like a bloody totally genuine fella 👍
Was very common in RSA military vehicles..( Late S2a 109 pick up with ambulance load bin ) S3 CSW 109's, and 110 2b FC's. Thirsty, prone for valves nearest to the firewall to seizure.. Shit spot to work and set, thus not getting done at all.... The old locals in our fishing villages love those engines, they recon it's best used as an anchor for their boats.... 😮😮 🇿🇦
Well…
She is lovely to look at … the old 109 girl 👍
Sounds great too …
Greetings from Germany everybody 👋

Hi really appreciate the feed back as I’m really new to the whole video thing 😅 I’ll try and get more videos of the 109 as it progresses 👍
Same as above, keep them coming....
....As for the Puma....
🤔🙄🤐🇿🇦
Just catching up (Sept 24) currently working on a very rusty 1980 series 3 station wagon. New chassis and bulkhead required.
Bringing an old gal back to life! That’s what I like to hear bud 👍
I hope the wind, rain and heavy traffic has now recovered from the injuries you all inflicted.
used to be a common thing, breaking gearsticks off, the 2.6 engine was never a very popular engine, I don't think they were ever used by the military.

The old guy was so nice he was telling us all his old stories about a green goddess he used to own, Jamie won the 109 on eBay for £2400
