You picked the right one ! Its pretty sweet when we are use to 50+ miles an hour something like this looks slow . He will absolutely go nuts. P.s are you adopting anymore kids i would like one for christmas too.
@@Hungrybird474 I was big into nitro rc growing up and got out of it when I got a real car to play with. We picked up a couple micro b’s a month or so ago and have been wearing them out since. He said he wanted a monster truck so I pre-ordered this. It’s tough, not too fast but still has the ability to be slowed down even more for kids to practice and grow into.
@ I think you’re exactly right. I don’t think this is an adult toy right out of the box but it has the ability to be modified to get there lol. It’s tough, not too fast but can be slowed down even more with the switch, parts are going to be everywhere for when it does break or if you wanna make it your own. I think it’s going to be a great entry level rc car if you’re wanting something more than an Amazon special.
@@jakesrcaddiction no the new ones are the rally car and the new x12s buggy i did a vid on the buggy. Its not out yet. The rog 1 is a 150$ 3S 1:14 scale monster truck. Slightly smaller than the mini maxx but is great.
You really don’t seem to know what you’re talking about, the merv comes with the vxl3m system which is much smaller than the vxl-2s system and that battery is quite large for a mini rc vehicle especially since the grom lineup comes with a tiny 1400mah battery that doesn’t even properly fit the Mojave grom battery tray and as to the size of it I would say it is reasonable because it will go through grass better than 1:18 cars and it will still fit relatively well in a backpack
@jakesrcaddiction Correct i actually had so much issues with it I sent it to arrma got the run around for 3 weeks then got my refund and bought mini maxx lol
The brushless groms are too fast out of the box, especially if you are running 3s. No 1/18 rc car should go 50mph ever if you want to use it for anything other than speed running
Yeah I think they should have made it 3s from the box I think they will probably release another version that’s 3s for a stupid price I’ve just got a max v2 and love it was going to get a mini for easier travel but think I’ll wait abit
I got this for my 5 yo for Christmas so everyone complaining it’s too slow makes me feel like it’ll be perfect for younger kids to grow into
He’s going to love it . I remember my first RC as a Christmas gift . I was instantly hooked . Happy holidays
@@Lucky15edc yep perfect for the younger new audience into the hobby.

yea he put 3S in it but DORC broke his front diff. great perspective video bro.
@@gamedogrc yes i seen that. I dont think im gonna make mine 3s yet
@jakesrcaddiction in my opinion, i think it would be able to handle it but its gonna require too many upgrades.
@jakesrcaddiction my rlaarlo rog1 does what this truck wants to.
@@gamedogrc is that there new one

@@Fordhykerjet everything you just said i compare in the grom vs mini maxx video … this was size comparisons not overall comparison.
It needs a higher KV motor is all I'd say. The little bit extra to get it to backflip etc

It's slow? My grom was like 19mph out the box lol 29 is awesome lol
