- History of Power Rangers is a series where Linkara summarizes, reviews, jokes about, and critically analyzes the TV show "Power Rangers" in all its seasons. Not intended for a younger audience.
The History of Power Rangers heads into space to bring an end to the Zordon Era and the conclusion to six years worth of storylines.

Astronema: "You have a front row seat to the end of your era!"
Zordon: (ends his era with the greatest stage dive)
United Alliance of Evil: *exists*
Zordon: I'm going to do what is called a pro gamer move.
Astronema: you have a front rose seat to the end of your era.
zordon: so that's when I start dying!
Like the Frank Sinatra song, Zordon did it his way.
In the end she was half right. It was the end of his era but not the beginning of hers.
It's scary and emotional that it was true
That handshake between Bulk and Skull before they charge in always gets to me. It’s like they’re saying “It’s been an honour Skullovitch!” “The honour was all mine Bulkmeier!” Really cements how far they’ve come and how they’re not just best friends now, they’re brothers in arms!
I’ll see you on the other side Ray
It’s been a pleasure working with you Dr. Venkman
How deep their bond is was further proven in Samurai by Skull entrusting his son Spike to Bulk's guidance and care for a whole year. Possibly 2 years if Super Samurai started 1 year after Samurai did just like Super Mega Force apparently started 1 year after Mega Force did in-universe.
@@DarianDuncnthat’s from my favorite movie, thank you that’s a smile I needed
They always my favorite characters, once bully’s now the great duo.
"Andros, listen to me: it is your duty as a Power Ranger to save the universe. NOW is the time." That is Zordon's most powerful line. Ever.
I agree
Its sad how Zorodon died, and how in PR:OAA they try to revive him
I agree
Plus his voice actor passed away back in 2000 true we still have the face and original performer of Zordon but later in season 1 David Fielding left the role and Robert Manaham voiced him for the remainder of the Character's original run.
I've always loved how Bulk claims to be the Blue Ranger after how much he bullied Billy in the beginning of the series.
if that's not growth, i don't know what is
I liked that neither he or Skull claimed to be the Red or silver, that they knew that they aren't the leaders or the special sixth, but still part of something that tries to do better, shown by the jobs they took after their interactions with the OG team.
Ó
@@rebar6797 I suppose that could be (in addition to Skull getting left behind) why we didn't get a full circle of them getting 2 of the mechanized Galacta Beasts.

It's unfortunate that "KISS HER, YOU IDIOT!" didn't make it to this version, that was one of my favorite parts of the original review.
Looks like I accidentally deleted it, because I DID put it in there (then pulled the clips up to the next layer in editing to put the background in).
@@AT4W Hey Linkara do you mind if I asked what happened to the Queen Under Pressure music video?
@@luke8979 It was gonna cause the video to be copyright claimed. I think on his blog a couple years ago the original plan was he was gonna sing a cover of the song itself, but I guess he didn't wanna risk it.
(& it's a shame, I was looking forward to hearing his pipes cover one of my favorite songs ;_; )
Yeah right? What was Andros afraid of
@incinerator1016 ok thanks
It's a small thing, but I love that neither Bulk nor Skull claim to be the Red Ranger. It shows how much respect they have for the Power Rangers when they don't take the chance to tell everyone they're the one most commonly recognized as the leader.
And they don’t claim to be silver either, which I think means they know they aren’t the special or stand out members of a team, but they are still a part of something that intends to do good, like their jobs in previous seasons.

Fun fact, the Blue Psycho Ranger, who taunts the Rangers with “we’re SMARTER than you!”, is voiced by Wally Wingert, who later voiced The Riddler in the Batman Arkham games, The Riddler in those games also being infamous for being annoying in his rants about how he’s “smarter” than Batman
Also, he's renji from bleach and almighty tallest red from invader zim.

Zordon being destroyed is still, all these years later, one of the most powerful moment if all of PR. Probably THE most powerful and emotional scenes.
It is in my book. The death of an iconic mentor figure in this series. One who decided to sacrifice his existence to save the entire universe.
@@dnmstarsi He was like a father ever since he came into our lives.
Agreed! I even cried a little when Zordon died. Both as a kid, and as an adult years later.
Absolutely.

Linkara: Divatox takes it well...
Divatox: "Don't bow to her! You work for me!!!"
Truer words have never been spoken, friend.
"You work for me."
Divatox said calmly.
I still laugh at the irony of how Zedd laughed off the idea of a monster that blows itself up and yet Tankenstein proved it was a very effective strategy
In the recent comics they take that idea to the extreme and prove Just how good it could be lol
I seriously wish that Countdown to Destruction had 3 parts and they had the MMPR and Zeo Rangers team up with the Space Rangers for the finale imagine how cool and hilarious it would have been if they all stood on the building and revealed themselves with Bulk and Skull freaking out since they knew every single one of them and called them geeks 😂
True. All the past Rangers standing together in the darkest day, even if they couldn't morph, would be cool and make sense since I don't see the other Rangers just standing by while the Earth is invaded. But budget and cast restrictions probably would have made that hard to accomplish.
I wished in the theme song they had the previous rangers each say a number in the countdown
Hell, since we never see the Zeo powers destroyed it’s possible Tommy was kicking mad ass out there during this. Especially after watching Forever Red does this reinforce my point, so the other Zeo rangers might’ve been fighting. And I know for a fact Zack, Trinni, Billy, Jason, and Kimberly were fighting too. They definitely wouldn’t have just sat and watched, they were basically veterans in war, and they still knew how to fight. Same with the Aquatar Rangers.
Zordon's death basically Thanos'd most of the Ultimate Alliance of Evil.
In this timeline. In the other timeline Thrax saves Zordon thusly saving Rita and Zedd and The United Alliance. Hope Hasbro gives Hyperforce a Season 2, because the bad guys basically won and whisked Zordon away in one of the stolen Time Ships.
Well thats what always bothered me about it, his sacrifice is supposed to end all evil in the universe but then next season theres evil again.
Yeah, Zordon was basically a giant Nuke. The Universe is pretty big and even with how fast light travel it would never really hit everything. I know for a few seasons (Lightspeed, Lost Galaxy, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Jungle Fury, and Operation Overdrive) They were always villains that were "Locked away but released" or from "Deep Space" so I give them props for at least trying. And yeah, in Hyperforce, Thrax (Rita and Zedd's kid) wanting to save Zordon made sense, his motivations seemed just, his parents got nuked and the Rangers kinda did unfairly tip the balance. Like Zordon's like "Never escalate a fight" but then at the end he's like "Let's just nuke the s*** out of them and wipe the board"
@@mooganify well of course there's evil again evil is an idea and you can't kill an idea without killing all life if he truly got rid of all evil everyone and I do mean everyone would have turned to dust even the Power Rangers because they're they can be evil and not even being brainwashed

Not as good as under pressure but still a great tribute to the zordon era
I beg to differ. While Under Pressure was a good song, the tribute song used close to the end was much more emotional, giving me the feeling that if In Space was the true finale like it was originally designed to be, it was a sad moment to see a great series come to a close.
Definitely longer, but this one was more emotional.
Arc Caravan fair enough
@@HeadphonesUK So sad, yet so true.

I have to disagree, IMO the lyrics really fit the different clips being used. Though honestly I prefer Under Pressure, I love all of Linkara's tribute amvs. They're all good.
Man I frigging love the psycho rangers. They are just the perfect villain ranger team. Strong, threatening, clever, pure evil, and psychotic. They were so awesome they were brought back twice. (One after a filler episode and the kickass teamup in Lost Galaxy)
Same here, I've always had a thing for evil counterparts, whether it be evil versions of the heroes from another dimension, evil clones, or just rivals with similar yet opposing personalities.
They actually came back in the recent boom comic power rangers psycho path i think its called I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! They stayed alive this time to
Wait til you see their Nedjiranger counterparts in Denji Sentai Megaranger.
@@dragonmaster613 the tubi app has that whole series on it for free
The best part about them imo is that they are a legit threat every time they come on screen. The rangers never get a clean victory over any of them, especially since they need all 5/6 of them to beat a single one of the Psychos. The whole angle with Astronema undermining Dark Specter is a clever way to keep them relevant and threatening while removing them from combat at any point where it would make sense for them to kill one of the Rangers. Its very rare for us to see the Rangers take such regular poundings without them finding a way to fight back. They are so strong in fact that the team up in Lost Galaxy makes sense as a real necessity since the Psychos are too strong for any one Ranger team to handle.
In Space has imo most of the best villains in the whole show. Ecliptor and the Psychos mainly, but Astronema is a very good big baddy and her comings and goings from good and evil are great. Also Darkonda is very effective and is an interesting wildcard in the whole affair. Even the footsoldiers are great.
A pretty decent substitute for the old Under Pressure one, and it still is heartwarming as a lookback to the Zordon era.
As for the wave not wiping out all evil given all the baddies from Lost Galaxy onward, I'd like to think that either Zordon was exaggerating for the sake of pushing Andros even more to do the deed, or Zordon himself was mistaken on the power of the wave. The Big Giant Head is not infallible, remember that he left Mr. "There's a Simple Explanation For That" lying dormant on Earth with no real plan for him to follow when his time came.
@@pygmalion0451 good idea, I mean Sledge for example was simply a bounty hunter, The Master was hidden away in some magic realm, many others were sealed away and thus seemingly harmless, and for other intergalactic threats, one can just say they were too far away to be affected.
I agree but what we learn in the later seasons maybe the monsters from lost Galaxy was in another universe and dodged the z wave.
I actually have my own theory on the villains from lost galaxy. I think that they may actually be from a separate galaxy considering we got that whole thing with the portal through space.
I always thought that it was because Dark Specter had assembled all the villains in one target. Invasions like this one were happening elsewhere in the universe and I don't think Zordon would have allowed that as long as it wasn't earth.
@@meganinten0078 Scorpius. Still doesn't explain some evil forces like the Warstar and The Armada.
I'm really happy the Psychos have gotten a bit more attention recently.
Fleshing out their backstories a bit and even giving them a sixth ranger with Psycho Green.
Also points to the comic writers for tying one of Sentai only teams from Megaforce into it and doing something cool, by making it Psycho Green's backstory
Yeah but I personally don't like how they tried to make the Psychos redeemable.
Got to say, seeing that Zordon montage has real sadness to it with the untimely passing of Jason David Frank. 😔
When it comes to "sequel" seasons, there's always a challenge between narrative and continuity, and In Space succeeded for doing both. Trying to bring out old and new ideas to the forefront while also tied up loose ends. I can see why everyone loved it.
Y'know, I find it funny that when the finale to Megaranger came about, the public actively turned against them rather than them supporting the rangers like in Countdown to Destruction. Just goes to show the writers of this show knew what the rangers truly mean as a symbol. xP
Oh God...I remember that. Especially that dick of a principal who's like, "They're trying to save the world? Screw that! They don't make it back for the exam, they fail and don't graduate!"
It was many years later when I got the chance to finally watch Megaranger...and that part basically ruined it for me.
What made it worse was how the Megarangers still trying to save the world at the risk of missing their exams and unable to graduate. Their principal was all like, "Screw them! They're gonna be late, I'm failing them!" What a bunch of ungrateful @#$%!!!
And that's why I picked Power Rangers in Space to be the superior version of the two.
If I may throw out a theory: If you’ll recall, a few times during his time as mentor where Zordon was cut off from the Rangers (ie when Tommy wrecker the Command Center) well my theory is, while cut off from the Rangers he saw some of the future events of the series beyond his time as mentor, I mean it IS said he’s in a time warp, so when he was knocked out of it by villain meddling, he was probably in the time stream and saw things like the hidden demons in Mariner Bay or the Org resurgence. As such the actual reason he left Earth in Turbo? Because he KNEW what was coming, he knew the Millennium Message had to come to pass. Sure the Z-Wave would take care of the immediate threat conquering the universe but after his time they had to fight for themselves hence government backed Power Rangers like Lightspeed Rescue, the Silver Guardians, Time Force, SPD, heck Grid Battleforce now.
He knew evil would come again, but there would also be Power Rangers to answer the call.
This has been a Power Ranger nerd’s dweeby rant. Thanks for reading.
PS. Zordon your interview process for mentors should’ve been a lot stricter because the poor Megaforce team got Gosei who REALLY fell down on the job.
Oh and one last thing on that point, I truly believe that the Megaforce powers were meant to be given out by a veteran Ranger, and that were any veteran Ranger to meet him, they would never take Gosei seriously as a mentor.
That is an amazing theory. It's exactly the kind of thing that Zordon would do. Realise that, despite that it would lead to his death, he left Earth, knowing that in the end he'd give the universe a small time to regroup and grow, letting new rangers be created.
And as for Gosei, I think that he just started teaching him when Turbo started. So, Gosei was left alone after lesson one, give teenagers powers. He had no damn clue what to do afterwards
That's actually a solid theory
I actually like this theory a lot and it would make sense
Yeah, I think the veterans would go, "Gosei, what did we even do to warrant these powers?" every time a BS reason was given. At least, the RPM guys would.
That's actually a pretty damn good theory and it further ties into the fact that when he tells Andros, "I may be gone, but my spirit will forever live in all that is good."
I find it interesting that there were 18 rangers to this point. The age a teenager becomes an adult. The end of an era, as it were.
15:27 damn it Lewis why’d you have to make me cry like that
Beautiful...
Re: Zedd- moment of silence for Robert Axelrod....
May he Rest In Peace for helping bring to life one of the most iconic rangers villains in pop culture history
It's been 21 years since I first watched Countdown to Destruction, and it still brings me to tears. Such a perfect, perfect end to the story. I'm getting choked up just typing this comment.
Andross was just in front of the Zordon blast, maybe he absorb a portion of it and came out of him when he started to cry, that's why it brings Karone back.
Doesn't explain how Karone's tears healed the warrior in the "Facing the Past" episode of Lost Galaxy.
@@michaelbreen7865 I can imagine that it wasn’t her tears themselves, but that she showed genuine remorse for what she did to the warrior in the past as Astronema, and that was what broke the curse.
So all of this madness, silliness, goofiness, awesome stuff happened, a few Rangers almost died, a child put in danger, and etc happened because two astronauts opened Rita Repulsa's dumpster.
Certain things like Zedd would’ve happened, so in the end I think that it would’ve basically been the same events except the rangers would’ve been picked later than originally.
@@GiantCyborgDinosaurChicken didn't Zedd appear because of Rita?

I'm sure Lewis does too, but youtube gonna youtube.
It's a pretty good and emotional tribute to Zordon. He will always remember all the rangers and all that they've done to protect good from evil. R.I.P Zordon
shadowlink I loved that sequence of unmorphed group shots!
Tearful lol
I actually prefered this over "under pressure". Such a finality to it.
I kinda agree. Feels like I got sucked into some kind of white space where I'm reliving moments of my childhood with Zordon who's both reminding us of his time with the series as well as bidding farewell and good fortune upon us. Yeah, it sounds stupid and corny as hell but so's the show at times and I love it regardless.
What is the song’s name
The ratings for the show are like the theme song says "Flying higher than ever before."
2:13 Holograms. In Megaranger, Mega Blue had the power to project holograms. It was never really addressed in PRiS that TJ could do that, but that's how it worked in the Sentai footage.
True, but they should have explained it since they were copying Megaranger at that point when they weren’t doing it much before, and they tried to cover the symbols on their helmets in the transformation sequence plus limiting their special abilities. Also you would need to know Megaranger to understand why they were able to do that.
@@goldenheart4575 Yeah, I know. There's actually a crapton of stuff about PR that makes a lot more sense when you learn more about the Sentai. For starters, the fact that the Rangers all wear multicoloured spandex suits makes a lot more sense when you realize that Super Sentai started in the 70s. lol
Or maybe the power rangers bought blue paint.
@@christianlorre Okay, then how come they all have the same helmet? lol
Power Rangers was the first thing I ever binged on. Thanks to this series, it brought me back to this fun, though often cheesy and silly, show. One thing I noticed is that In Space was the first time death was even mentioned in the show, not counting the 95 movie. The little girl who figures out Carlos is the Black Ranger acts bratty because her brother died. After Space, the show was going for a more serious approach best exemplified by the death of the first Pink Ranger and the Magna Defender's backstory in Lost Galaxy, the Silver Ranger's origin and his curse in Lightspeed, Alex's supposed death and Ransic's backstory in Time Force, and Cole's parents' death and Zen-Aku visibly bleeding and being a plot point in Wild Force. It makes one wonder whether Saban or the writers wanted to take the series in another direction, more mature than what had come before, especially after Disney bought it and then sold it back.
That montage at the end hits even harder now.
Not gonna lie, there's no scene in the entire series' history that has made me tear up as much with raw emotion as seeing Bulk and Skull's heroic moment in that finale. Yes, there had been others like the original team losing members, Tommy's different story arcs and even Turbo's ending, but these two were there from the very beginning, they were human, they were our connection to this series outside of the more sci-fi elements of the Power Rangers themselves. And, as a kid who followed the series since the very beginning, that was the ultimate Crowning Moment of Awesome. Even to this day, I still feel intense chills whenever I rewatch it.
Your description of the evolution of Bulk and Skull got me a little misty. You clearly have the same love for this show and those 2 that I do.
Thanks Linkara. 😊
I've always felt it kind of sad we haven't seen the reaction of the original Zordon era rangers' reaction to Zordon's death.
How incompetent does Phenomenous have to be to not be able to get evidence of alien life in the PR universe?
everyone in the city are idiots for not believing him to begin with considering the alien attacks for a few years.
@@disneyerapowerrangers2923 I'm surprised Linkara hasn't gone on a rant about that like he did with the "there's no such thing as monsters" lady from Lightspeed Rescue
That’s the thing the bothers me about the finale. I feel like there’s an emotional weight missing with none of the original rangers. We’ve never really seen any of these rangers with Zordon. I also think the moment Bulk and Skull found out who the rangers were would have more impact if Mighty Morphin was there.
To be fair though there were probably scheduling issues or they just wanted to focus on the current cast.
Well, I don't know about the *characters*, but I can attest first hand to this exact quote from Austin St. John regarding his reaction as an actor and fan when he found out Zordon was dead and how it happened:
"When I found out Christopher Khayman Lee killed Zordon, *I* almost killed Christopher Khayman Lee"
@@Bang3137 Well that must have made filming Forever Red awkward. When and where did he say this?
I love that Bulk and Skull (and all the citizens that stand with them in this moment) show to us that the Power Rangers aren't special they're just people. In that moment they were all Power Rangers and if we embody those lessons like Bulk and Skull have grown to we can also be Power Rangers.
And thus ends the coverage of my favorite Ranger Team! Thanks Lewis!
Thomas' Reactions Indeed my friend
Something about the quality of 'In Space' as a kid I got a few episodes on video. I got the secret city arc and one episode before and after it (one with the fish alien and the web episode) I had no context, no idea of any of the backstory for the phyco rangers or Astronoma... And I loved it. The line 'I am not programed to remember.' Was such a bad ass line that I remeber even though its been years since I've seen it
I bet the original five, Tommy, Adam, Ashia, Rocky, Kat, Tanya, Lt. Stone, Ernie, Mrs. Applebean, the principal will be so proud of Bulk and Skull.
You know, seeing Countdown to Destruction, the death of Zordon and that new montage (well done by the way) really highlights how much the franchise has fallen during the Neo Saban Era. Especially with how Legendary Battle failed so spectacularly in trying to capture what made In Space's finale work. Thankfully Beast Morphers seems to be getting things back on track, whether it's too late or not depends on its second half. Hopefully it'll be good, here's to the end of the Zordon era and may the power protect you all.
it's sad how beast morphers is more of an annversiary season then the actual annaversiary season.

@@dnmstarsi So far, it's been pretty good. Compared to the first 1.5 series of Neo-Saban, they're _much_ better.
Linkara talking about how rare it is to see Power Rangers shot at night is one of the reasons I adore the fight scenes in Wild Force since that's where the show goes all out with the night shoots. Fights like the first major fight between Leo and Vile in that dark boiler room and the brilliant final battle are made all the more harrowing, the latter in particular thanks to a combination of both the dark and the downpour of rain that permeates through the latter half of the finale. It just really helps you connect with the Rangers and how desperate, how freaking exhausted they are when they're soaked down to the bone
Wow 15:30 - 18:13 I don't think I have EVER seen sucha beautiful tribute and homage to Power Rangers from season 1 - 6. Incredible job on the editing & music choice. Wow.. super nostalgia overdose.
Really happy to see this up here. Shame the copyright issues stopped the Bowie/Queen song from being used, but still, it's a great review and nice to have an updated version up here.
Agreed with you on all counts! Glad to see these uploaded again.
Several things to make note on:
1. I have looked forward to this season in my personal viewing of the series more than any other, even my favorite: Wild Force
2. I would have loved to have seen the original five rangers join Bulk and Skull in the charge against the evil forces; along with the help of the other former rangers, Aulric the Conqueror, and Ninjor plus possible appearences by the Masked Rider cast and the Alien Rangers' enemy Hydro Hog, and Prince Gasket and Archerina
3. Going off the info I've heard on Rangers Wiki about the Psycho Path comic, the Psycho Rangers may have been created using the souls of five of Astronima's victims
4. Zordon's passing and that montage had me near tears, and Linkara's remark on the "end of Zordon's era" got a chuckle out of me for thinking the same thing
5. Copy right concerns or not, Under Pressure always made the montage before Zordon's death PERFECT
6. I have grown a deep love for the Psycho Rangers and the season finale for how amazing they are
7. The most important point: 23:40 No, we were all lucky to have YOU Zordon, may the power one day guide you back to us
Love the new montage that tributes all of the key and emotional moments from the 6 years of the Zordon era, though I will miss the under pressure montage from the original. And looking back at the episode especially my first watch of it years later on Netflix, I think Power Rangers had a huge missed opportunity during its finale had the series been over after In Space, I think it would've been cool if they brought back all of the rangers from the past five seasons. Imagine after TJ saying "We are the Power Rangers." A voice from the crowd says "We are also the Power Rangers." And from the crowd is Jason, Zack, Trini, Billy, Kimberly, Tommy, Tanya, Adam, Rocky, Kat, The Aquitians (who escape from Demitria), Justin and the morphed Robo Turbo Rangers. They all join together as we see a montage of the morphing sequences from all six seasons and them charging at the Piranhatrons and Quantrons. That would've been awesome. All of Zordon's legacy coming together to save the Earth one last time. But what we got at the end was just as cool. Also can't wait to see your remade Lost Galaxy video in the future.
It's sad to see than you can't do the Under Preasure montage on youtube. Too bad.
Much as I dislike "Under Pressure" for being overplayed, I still thought it was a good way to wrap up the video.

I assume the montage theme for RPM will be different as well...
And hearing the 30th season will be the last before a reboot, I'm pretty damn sure there will be an AMV that will have Let's See How Far We Come for every season.

I imagine the government in the Zordon era, minus Nasada, tried doing everything to keep the monster panic to Angel Grove. We never really get confirmation that anyone in universe saw the talk show other than the people of Angel Grove. Hence Phenominous being considered a crack pot.
Also, Aliens are incredibly good at cleaning after themselves in this franchise.
To be honest, I like this new version of your send off for Zordon more than your "Under Pressure" version. It felt quite emotional and really showed all that the rangers had gone through. It's also quite well done. You did a great job, Linkara.
Bulk and Skull have some of the best character development ive ever seen.
Bakugo wishes he had this character development.
Hmmm, he forgot about the little girl who found out Carlos' identity and how she actually activates Andros' Battalizer, by pushing the third button on the device which gives them sorta enhanced abilities when unmorphed. I think her name is Susie or something.
I didn't "forget."
I was summarizing. And she wasn't important enough of a detail in the season to actually mention her specifically. Much like Adelle.
@@AT4W Ok, I thought that was the reason why. Just had to make sure. I didn't mean to seem like I was picking on a certain detail or anything.
Tj being able to change the team to all look like him is his megaranger power. The adaptation team cut out all but a few uses of the tech symbol powers. But Megablue had the ability to generate simulations to trick enemies.
Except that in Megaranger, Shou (Mega Blue) was able to dusguise everyone else's voice with the technology being given to him. Where as in the episode adaptation ,"Four of a Kind"...T.J. didn't do that.

This took me down a real nostalgia trip. I was a teen when this came out and I was a little embarrassed to be enjoying such a "Kiddie" show as old as I was. Its a fun series that hit many of the right buttons for me as a sci fi fan at the height of the 90s sci fi TV golden age.

Fabulous review. I've binged your reviews of Mighty Morphin up to In Space now, as they were the series that I watched as a kid growing up. You've brought back a lot of nostalgic memories for me, and I thank you for that. In Space was my second favourite, after Zeo, but I distinctly remember how much joy I had when I opened up a VHS copy of the Lost City multi-parter for my birthday one year in the 90s, it was magical. Thanks for allowing me to relive my Power Rangers childhoood vicariously through these reviews. Looking forward to Lost Galaxy! Thanks again.

I didn’t expect this beautiful montage to pay respects to the Zordon era. But wow. That was awesome. Space might be my favorite next to Zeo
That was a beautiful tribute and I’m glad you made a redux of the videos.
Psycho Red drops the people's elbow on Andros! I always expect him to go for the pin and win the heavyweight championship 😂😂😂
I really missed these reviews, thanks for doing them Linkara.
The boom comics actually had a really cool backstory for the psycho rangers. But the cannon of that is questionable at best.
Nick Ruocco what was it?
Alan Krumwiede well it was for the green psycho(yes there’s a green psycho in the comics.) he was a corrupted transformed version of a green ranger from a defeated team. It was one of those ‘never before seen rangers’ that was one of the sentai teams. Except boom did something cool with it. It was the one where one of the team members had a flute for a weapon I think. Also their planet was whatever planet trip came from in time force. So I’m assuming something similar would be the case with all the other psychos, at least in boom continuity. Defeated rangers from fallen teams corrupted. Which is supported when they are all shown to have human forms in those comics.
In The Psycho Path, they're people from various planets that Astronema brainwashed.
Nick Ruocco sounds like I need to start reading comic books again
@@meganinten0078 The Psychos are ... anti heroes... oof.
Not every bad guy needs to be an anti hero for pete's sake.
Bulk: I am the Blue Ranger!
Me: I thought you were the Hyperforce Yellow Ranger? lol
6:20 Ahh yes the good old ‘Well I’m sure will NNEEVVEERR see’ joke, Never gets old.
(Spoilers for Power Rangers Hyperforce Ahead): I love that Season 1 of Hyperforce Culminated in the In-Space Season, not at the end (Countdown to Destruction) as you'd expect, but at the beginning of it, on the Sumarian Planet at the dinner with the United Alliance of Evil where Andros is under cover. It plays out a LOT different when Thrax shows up, pretty much tells the United Alliance "Hey um... you followed Dark Specter's Plan and it got you, my Parents and their allies, all wiped out" Aisha (MMPR Yellow) Gem (RPM Gold), Merlin (Himself), Lina Song (SPD Green) arrive with the Hyperforce 6. Basically Thrax goes Game of Thrones on Dark Specter and decides to destroy him to save his parents/the current forces of Evil, Hyperforce Red pretty much is like "Dark Specter, you kinda gotta destroy Thrax" and Dark Specter and Thrax duke it out. Hyperforce Red and Green even begin sending their power into Dark Specter to give him a boost against Thrax (Who all season has been traveling to different time-periods and absorbing Dark Energy along the way) Ultimately it's Thrax's power to absorb dark energy that tips the scales, he Absorbs/Destroys The Machine Empire Royal Family, Elgar, and some Quantrons and deals a fatal blow to Dark Specter. The Hyperforce Rangers, Andros, Aisha, Gem, Lina Song and Merlin unleash the full force of their attacks upon Thrax. Thrax attempts to absorb their attack, but becomes overwhelmed by the power. Thrax falls over in a massive explosion, unleashing a wave of dark energy (The T-Wave if you will) upon Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, strengthening them and they teleport away, empowered, confused, and angry that their future son is dead. One of the Stolen Timeforce Ships uses a claw and picks up the Captive Zordon, Hyperforce Pink with her Phoenix Zord fails to stop them, and they escape. Andros and the others (Aisha, Gem, Merlin, Song) stay behind to clean up the rest of the United Aliance of Evil (Divatox and Astronema and Goldar and other stragglers) but like... Damn, if you think about it that Timeline is so screwed. Andros likely never met his other Space Rangers, Astronema is likely not going to turn good (They leave off with her attacking him) Like, Andros has no idea that his timeline just got royally screwed. When the Hyperforce return to the future (3017) giant states of Rita, Zedd, and Thrax stand tall, Jen (Timeforce Pink/Their Mentor) is dressed in her Resistance Leader clothes, and clearly the events of this timeline's In-Space Evil Dinner Party massacred the future. I do hope they green-light a Hyperforce Season 2 because Season 1 ended epicly, but Zordon's alive and captured and in The Alliance's Clutches on a Time Ship, and the Rangers ended up departing from a Dark Future to try and fix things. I'd love it if like, Boom Comics or Hyperforce Season 2 Re-visted that Andros, like... He was very cold in the beginning of In-Space and not trusting. He never meets Ashley TJ Carlos and Cassie presumably, his sister likely remains evil, like, he's a man who lost everything. What if he sees the main timeline (The timeline where he destroys Zordon's Tube and unleashes the Z-Wave) and sees that bright and happy future and gets bitter, hell, he could become an enemy to the Hyperforce and TImeforce Rangers, blame them, they messed up, they went all season protecting different points of time and preserving the order, but they fail when they get to him. Lots of interesting stuff they could do.
That's interesting. Did you know that a team of rangers in 1969 in a Boom Studios comic was lead by a female Red Ranger named Grace Sterling, and on that same team was a male Pink Ranger named Daniel O Holloran? I'd love to see Linkara review that comic. Also, with this team, Linkara kinda gets his wish of a team of international rangers: 1 African American, 2 white, 1 Brit, and 1 Russian.
Christmas came early my friends!! Thank you Linkara! You are truly better than Santa
Lewis, I have been watching your History of the Powe Rangers from the start. I have loved all of them. I wanted to thank you for redoing these episodes. I love the work that goes into them. I will still be watching future episodes. Take care and keep up the work.
The only thing about this season that was a little underwhelming to me is that I wanted more cameos from the old villains. Was kind of a bummer Divatox got a highlight episode on the planet guarding Zordan and Elgar was the only flunkie used to serve Astronema. I would have loved an episode where Goldar was sent to assist her, or maybe an episode where Astronema needed mystical/magical help and was forced to work with Rita for an episode. But that's just a personal gripe.
Sadly they had to make do with the costumes they had because quite a few of them were so broken down that by the end they were unsavageable.
While i miss the Under Pressure Z wave montage, it is very interesting to see this montage of Zordon and how much he cared before he goes out like a G to save everyone and the universe despite all of those jokes about him being a jerk
I wish the final episodes had a movie remake. I know new fans would have no context to anything that is happening, but I really wanna see a full on galaxy-wide war.
I feel as though this was a nigh-perfect season. Had good writing, good character development, good acting, and was enjoyable and had one HELL of a finale.
Agree 100% that this was a suitable ending to the storyline since MMPR.
I’ve ignored the series since Lost Galaxy and beyond but it’s probably due to age than intent 😂
I love the way you say "I'm sure we'll NEEEEEEEEEEVER see them again!" 🤣
OH BOY
Zane's dunebuggie is the prototype for Vypra's *sweet sweet* ride in Lightspeed Rescue 🤣
It wouldn't surprise me if they reuse it for Vypra.
I didn't think you could top Under Pressure, but that montage was very touching. Doesn't help that someone was conveniently chopping onions during it...
Power Rangers: Endgame
Personally, Power Rangers In Space is one of my two favorite seasons. The main reason is the epic story throughout the season.
Countdown to Destruction gave me chills, honestly I when it aired in November 1998 I thought that was the end! I remember my baby brother and I watching the two parter and thinking "So, is that it?!? Is Power Rangers over?!?!?!???" Thankfully it wasn't! Whewwwwwwwwww lol
Side note: I kept saying to Greg (my aforementioned baby bro) "Why couldn't Darconda have blown up Divatox 1st! Lol
This season has one of the greatest moments of physical acting in Power Rangers. When Bulk claims to be the Blue Ranger Astronema has the absolute most marvelous 'you have got to be kidding me' look on her face
From day of the dumpster to countdown to destruction. MMPR to Rangers in Space will always be greatest saga of power rangers. But all good things must eventually come to an end. Don’t be sad it ended, be happy that it happened. Farewell zordon. We will miss you!
Wow. That tribute actually drove me to tears. Excellent review
While it is kinda sad to lose Under Pressure, the montage of Zordon along with his wise words ver the course of the series really works, especially in how it ties in with that stinger of Zordon's words from the end of 'Doomsday part two'.
This is such a comfort video for me
under pressure will be missed but this new clip show is better! we get to hear quotes from zordon and the song has kinda a kingdom hearts quality to it
I stumbled upon these videos not thinking I was gonna get emotional during Zordons departure. What an era it was! I was so obsessed with the first 6 seasons
I know this comment is late but same I watched his videos and even I felt even tho I wasn’t born during the zordon era it felt deep how he leaves
IN space to this day still has a better mega war than Mega force did
In space if my #1 fav Power Rangers show
@@TyMarshall007 Mine too
08:34 "I'm being chased by a posessed humm-vee! I better run in the exact same direction it's going!"
90 degree turn? Dodge? Jump in a lake/ocean?
"Nahhh. Pretty sure outrunning it's the way to go."
You do you, blue.
Great video! Love it!
And I gotta say the Psycho Rangers are still my favorite Power Rangers villains, so much so whenever a series introduces either evil clones of the main cast or a group of new characters that are basically suppose to be dark reflections of our main cast, I always compare them to the Pyscho Rangers. And if I think they're worthy enough I start referring to this group as either The Psycho [Insert Their Group Name Here] or The Pyscho [Insert The Main Casts Group Name Here].
I know "Under Pressure" was the original song for the montage, but I think "We Can Be Heroes" would have been a good substitution (until the inevitable copyright claim...)
By far the best season with by far the strongest ending, an end to the greatest TV era.
Based on that tribute, I’m guessing when you get to your re-review of RPM, we aren’t going to hear “Let’s See How Far We’ve Come”.
Pretty much.
Again, #WTFU?
I like how rita zed and divatox all become not evil, but ecliptor, who is considerably less evil, dies.
It's theorized that when Astronoma died, any goodness he had left was gone.
@@christiancrusader9374 and yet i still think he had more goodness then rita and zed. So it REALLY doesnt make sense to me.
@@realrealwarpet Rita and Zed genuinely loved each other, even if they were evil.
@@christiancrusader9374 even if astronoma was dead, im pretty sure he also genuienly loved her.
Also, divatox.
@@realrealwarpet he did, but she did die... And divatox is an odd one.
The psycho rangers In my personal opinion are my favorite villains in the power Rangers series

@@SirPaladin indeed and will do ;)
@@TevyaSmolka They get *a lot* of development in the one-shot trade "The Psycho Path", but the main MMPR comics debuted Psycho Green, who plays a big part in Psycho Path.
