If I ever get an opportunity to see this production, I am sure I will be moved to tears. The Prince of Egypt has always been my source of strength and I’m so glad they’ve decided to turn this into a musical.
Don't know if you did manage to make it, but I must say the Prince of Egypt is one of my favourite films and I wasn't all that impressed with the stage show. A couple of scenes just dragged on for far too long. I thought the choreography was very clever and it introduces new highlights such as this song which I think is important for Moses to sing, but the thing is it just didn't feel like the show was about the exodus. It felt like it was about family estrangement. Yes, this did characterise the film, but the point of the film was to humanise the people involved. I get that LaZebnik had to adapt the dialogue to suit a theatrical setting better, but honestly I think he let himself down a bit in the process as the dynamics were compromised. It felt like watching a pantomime rather than a Bible story.
I get the feeling this one's got some really huge potential to storm my "personal musical charts" - the soundtrack's definitely been in the respective "soundtrack chart" for ages 🥰
Unless they changed it from the Dnaish production last year, "All I ever wanted" is still in there. They did however change/remove The Plagues, if my memory serves me
the lyrics. the interpretation. the instrumental. LOVE. good job to everyone that was involved. i really enjoyed this performance/video. i take delight in it.
So excited for this album! First time I've been genuinely excited for a music release in a long time. Everything has been gorgeous so far. Can't wait! Also---US Broadway/Tour, please? :)
Footprints on the sand Ripples on the river Wispy drifting clouds That blow across the desert sky One day, we are here And the next, we vanish Vanish in the blink Of an ibis' eye We vanish in the blink Of an ibis' eye It’s not that I want glory Or the world to know my name But maybe just to leave things A little changed from when I came But it’s not my lot Use what you’ve got And all I am is Footprints on the sand Ripples on the river Echoes of a sound From a distant fading chime One day, we are here Next I know, we vanish But I’m a fool And so, I like to fool myself That I’m Not just footprints on the sand But someone who’ll leave footprints On the sands of time
This song is so beautiful..I can't help smiling throughout the entire song..😍. Something about it just feels so real.. Why would anyone dislike this song!!??🙁
@@testingsubject3155 The movie was boring enough; as long as we have to deal with its existence, we can avoid adapting this same boring material to the stage and nostalgia alone is not a good enough reason. And for somebody as talented as Stephen Schwartz, the PoE songs are so angular.
@@DiabloSandwich59 I suppose some of the songs are a bit boring for Stephen, but I didn't really enjoy the movie until I was older, I didn't watch it when I was 7 and that's why I appreciate it. I think the ensemble and leads from the original deliver some powerful stuff, along with Stephen & Hans Zimmer (I think I got that right). I would never want to see a live action movie of this show, but the idea of a stage production does excite me.
1) Go them for picking a hot Moses. True to DreamWorks form. 2) This kind of goes against the whole Moses premise? His whole story is trying to fit in (and failing). When he gets given big responsibility he runs away from it and ignores it for years until he can't anymore. "All I Ever Wanted" is all about wanting to fit in with the Pharoah's family despite his own growing misgivings.
Finally! I found someone who agrees!! I honestly thought this was sung by Rameses when I first heard the soundtrack and to my sadness, I found out it was actually sung by Moses. It really does go against his story. If anything his "great future ahead of him" is outlined in Deliver Us.
omg wtf did i stumble upon? I clicked cuz i thout it was leonas footprints in the sand so song! I was expeting leonas big pwoerful pwoerhouse belted song and instead i got a very old fashion dragged out over acted talky singing annoying wobbly forced tremelo vibrato!!!!! The last note was kind of good though. It did lack vibrato though! He needed some vibrato at the end to make it not sound like one big screamtina bansheelera scream! Adding sloight vibrato at the end give it the illusion of an actual note! Screamtina bansheelera is an exoert in turning straight full talkking voice shouts into fake notes by adding runs and very annoying tremeleo cuz she doesnt have a real vibrato to make her shouts sound like an actual note! The rest was hideous!
DELIVER "DELIVER US!" PLEASEEEE WE WANT TO HEAR IT.
Don't you worry, they're all in the show, it's fantastic :)))
Half of me: When can I buy the album?
Other half of me: Forget the album! When will general license to perform be available?

I know it's very good and somebody should animate this
this is beautiful but i hope they didn't take out the all i've ever wanted
Maybe it's when he was in the desert.
I will PERISH if they dont do that song.
Unless they changed it from the Dnaish production last year, "All I ever wanted" is still in there. They did however change/remove The Plagues, if my memory serves me
Josefine Nielsen that’s heartbreaking. A fantastic song
No they didnt remove all ive ever wanted. But yeah, they did change the the plague song which was heartbreaking lmao

He has a voice like melted chocolate 😍😍
Footprints on the sand
Ripples on the river
Wispy drifting clouds
That blow across the desert sky
One day, we are here
And the next, we vanish
Vanish in the blink
Of an ibis' eye
We vanish in the blink
Of an ibis' eye
It’s not that I want glory
Or the world to know my name
But maybe just to leave things
A little changed from when I came
But it’s not my lot
Use what you’ve got
And all I am is
Footprints on the sand
Ripples on the river
Echoes of a sound
From a distant fading chime
One day, we are here
Next I know, we vanish
But I’m a fool
And so, I like to fool myself
That I’m
Not just footprints on the sand
But someone who’ll leave footprints
On the sands of time
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful

Who's singing?
Luke Brady 👍
then took out your playing with the big boys now were is that song
Terrible costume for the musical (they aren't realistic at all), but excellent voices...
