well done on the fairy bread , the hundreds and thousands were a bit sparse, but you cut it into triangles, which is a legal requirement in Australia for the making of fairy bread
The most fairy bread I ever made was for my eldest son's 18th birthday party! People stood around eating it as fast as I could make it. I think I went through 3 loaves of bread and several large jars of hundreds & thousands. There were no leftovers.
Needed more sprinkles. The easiest way to do it in bulk is to have the butter much softer for spreading, pour all the sprinkles into a plastic box big enough for the slice of bread and press the bread, butter side down, onto the sprinkles. Less mess and better coverage. Then you need to cut it into 4 triangles and imagine you're a 5 year old at a birthday party for maximum enjoyment 😊
Realised that the butter spreads easier here because it's not freezing cold when you put the butter out😂 Definitely needed more sprinkles. Maybe he can do it for his son's next birthday party 🎉
The lack of housing and the price of housing in Australia especially in the major cities is in my opinion the biggest problem facing Australia in conceivable future. I love the idea you have that you'd find fairy bread at a 3 year old's Bluey themed party, when you could find any true Aussie adult having a Bluey themed party with fairy bread, too. xD
At 54 years old I am finally ready to share my childhood trauma. My mother is from Scotland and when she made fairy bread for my parties it would be white bread, condensed milk, and 100's and 1000's. That's right, not butter but sweet, sticky condensed milk soaking into the bread. I'm not sure if she did this to make it taste better, or if she actually thought this was how it was made. Regardless I was considered a freak in my very small town and teased throughout primary school years 😟.
It needs a lot more sprinkles. Tip - put the sprinkles in a square sandwich container and then put the bread butter side down into the sprinkles and push lightly. Sprinkles will then stick to the butter and you've got perfect coverage.
I'm disappointed Ryan. You started off so well with the fairy bread, but then you had to do us dirty and remind us about Raygun. It's as if you think we're not already embarrassed enough by her, and doing our best to forget one of the darkest days in Australian Olympic history. Anyway, there's my struggles of 2024, but the future looks good.
The bread needs to be more thinly sliced and moister. Had you tried to butter it the way you did, proper Aussie white bread would immediately have developed a mushy hole straight away. It needed more butter and sprinkles. Also you need to cut into 4 so the ratio of crust to bread is lower. I think your sprinkles were harder than the hundreds and thousands we have, hence the stronger crunch. But good first effort! You need to come to Australia and try the real thing!
Happy New Year, Ryan and family! Lived in Aus for 27 years, but did not grow up here. Wouldn't touch fairy bread with a 3.048m barge pole (I have embraced the metric system though).
Hands down the longest time I have ever seen anyone put together fairy bread hahaha, meanwhile 10 people left the restaurant waiting for their fairy bread : P You did a great job Waza, now you gotta try chocolate sprinkles, though our sprinkles are miniature incy wincy sticks, not balls, this is also nice,

Kids, it won't hurt them to not have something. Parents today, well a lot to my eyes, could also learn to say no to their kids. Saw one family sharing a holiday with us once, their two kids continuously nagged their mother to take them to the theme parks on the coast. They were unrelenting until she gave in, all the time our son was outside making his own fun. He only got given toys (not including books and educational items) at Christmas and his birthday. He played in trees, laid on lawns looking at the clouds with his mate's, played cricket and tennis over our front fence, went fishing. Played every sport going. Was and is an extremely sociable adult. They will survive Ryan, it will do more good than harm. Raygun is laughing now. I liked her from the moment she performed. I like and enjoy quirky people and particularly quirky Aussies
Noooo, not Bloody Raygun, she dosent deserve ANY air time whatsoever 😢 This year can you please do more on Aussie singers/ bands, John Farnham (your the voice), midnight oil, inxs, Love all your videos, Jen, Queensland
Happy New year 🎊 has been a wonderful year watching you learn more about our awesome country. Make sure that you bring your beautiful family over to experience the real thing one day. PS empty the sprinkles on to a plate and butter then push on to the bread......... I haven't had since my kids were little so I might have to do some old classics like fairy bread, chocolate crackles and mini franks.
The first bite you had i knew you had the wrong sprinkles. They don’t go crunch, you put on a brave face. Sounds like you got the the bigger bally thinks which you might put on a cup cake or even a cake but i’m sure these aren’t the smaller non crunchie ones also used for cup cakes and cakes and more importantly fairy bread. So I’m afraid you’re still a fairy bread virgin. I can’t believe no one else picked up on it. I’m sure someone will shoot me down and say yes they are, but noop, our kids wouldn’t have any teeth munching fairy bread with those monsters. ( I bet they were shinny too) . You put on a brave face 😂
Reminds me of the Us congress woman who went missing for 6 months and was found in a nursing home with dementia. She was paid like $87,000 in that time too 😂
Well Done Ryan, I’ll officially make You💯Aussie, You have Seen Australia more than “ Most Aussies” Me also, Although i’ve been living here Since 1990 and never Made Fairy Bread! Well done👏Foe the Effort👍
Fairy Bread did need more sprikles but was pretty decent regardless. Idk if it's common or not but I tend to use margarine (still call it butter) as it's a lot easier to spread. An extra fun idea that works well, but even most aussies recoil at, is adding a frankfurt to the fairy bread and eating it like sausage in bread. It tastes really good, and those who are willing to try it agree
The best way to make fairy bread is to cut your bread into quarters (triangles) first, then put your 100s & 100s into a shallow dish. Dip your bread - buttered side down - into the 100s & 100s, press down then serve ‘right side’ up
Happy New Year and all that is good for you and your family in 2025🎉. I came to Australia in 1998 and started eating my vegemite on raisin toast thinking it was a done thing. (A misunderstanding on my part). I always got funny looks from the guy at the coffee shop but they never said anything about it. Years later a friend of mine asked me what the hell are you doing? It was never a thing but I still like it today 😂 I also eat vegemite on normal toast.
You did well, Ryan, except it needs more sprinkles to improve the taste 😊 You should be able to taste the sprinkles a bit more than the butter. If you lined up a bunch of Aussies who were kids in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and even today, they'd all say the same thing 😁
Ryan you will now always spread butter with a round ended dinner knife/butter knife, not a kitchen knife. Much easier. Scrape the butter off the top of the block, spread it onto the bread lying flat on a board, place sprinkles on a small plate, turn over the buttered bread, press into sprinkles, turn back, cut into 4 triangles. Done.
Have never had Fairy Bread with Butter, always Margarine. A good spread, not ridiculously thick, about midway between lots and little, then sh*t-ton of Hundreds and Thousands. Perfect!
We had a large plate of fairy bread on the childrens table at daughter,s wedding. It was a battle keeping the men away from the fairy bread. Love your posts. Greetings from Australia.
Needs more sprinkles. Pros put the sprinkles on a plate and then apply the buttered bread upside down to the sprinkles.
This is the way I was taught growing up
Sprinkles are the long ones. 100s & 1000s are round
Came to the comments to see if anyone thought it needed more sprinkles
I can’t believe it needs even more sprinkles but I’ll take your word for it. I’ll try that method next time
@@ryanreactionthe only sprinkles left should be the ones not stuck to the butter

Fairy Bread is usually made ahead of time for a party. So the sprinkles will soften, so it will taste better.
And the bread slightly staler.
@@ozsheila55 the butter or margarine helps with that
Yes. Exactly. I was going to say that too. 🤩
I’m sure he used the bigger shinny bally things not the more flaky things. Fairy Bread doesn’t go crunch like that!

With the build up I found myself closely observing the fairy bread components like an olympic judge to make sure you were doing it correctly.
Bread style - Correct. Plain, squishy white, square, store bought loaf, i’m unable to tell the exact discount level or freshness, but it looked appropriate.
Butter - close, and acceptable. Top marks would have been a quality margarine, but in a pinch (or a fancy household) butter is appropriate.
100s and 1000s - Correctish. You get bonus points for even trying to import genuine Aus/UK, but i’m confident Betty Crocker round sprinkles would be the best possible local substitute. Minor reduction for the coverage on the fairy bread. I appreciate the restraint, and it’s true there should be no layering, but I would have gone with more of a 75% coverage rather than the ~55% yours looks like. But truly nit-picking at this point.
Bread cut - Correct. Triangles. No notes.

Raygun was my highlight. At least she was when I thought she was taking the piss and didn't act like a crybaby when people were having a laugh.
The drunk Barnaby Joyce story somehow slipped past my radar. That is f'in hilarious!
Happy New Year Ryan!
Could you please do a video viewing aus open when it's on. Great vid by the way.
Ray gun! What about the kangaroo that launched over that fence…..the roo still has ❤️…..unlike woolies and ray gun
Noooo, not Bloody Raygun, she dosent deserve ANY air time whatsoever 😢
This year can you please do more on Aussie singers/ bands,
John Farnham (your the voice), midnight oil, inxs,
Love all your videos,
Jen,
Queensland
You should also try it by swapping butter with Nutella. 🤤
Nice, but not the same.
Not REAL fairy bread.
Sounds pretty good.
NOOO!
Go on, tell him what we call mini franks.
She was paid like $87,000 in that time too 😂
I like mine put under the grill, the way they melt together is great.
Hmmm. Different. Intriguing.
Well Done Ryan, I’ll officially make You💯Aussie, You have Seen Australia more than “ Most Aussies” Me also, Although i’ve been living here Since 1990 and never Made Fairy Bread! Well done👏Foe the Effort👍
More hundreds and thousands!!!
Definitely needed more sprinkles 😊
How depressing that after the wildly successful Olympics we had, Raygun gets the mention.
Dip your bread - buttered side down - into the 100s & 100s, press down then serve ‘right side’ up
You need to put a whole heap of springles on a plate and put the buttered bread on top of the sprinkles.
You should try a dog's eye and dead horse
Ryan you will now always spread butter with a round ended dinner knife/butter knife, not a kitchen knife. Much easier.
Scrape the butter off the top of the block, spread it onto the bread lying flat on a board, place sprinkles on a small plate, turn over the buttered bread, press into sprinkles, turn back, cut into 4 triangles. Done.
Ryan, huge fan of the channel. wondering if you've ever been to Aus?
Hundreds and thousands yum
Chocolate sprinkles even yummier 😊
Have never had Fairy Bread with Butter, always Margarine. A good spread, not ridiculously thick, about midway between lots and little, then sh*t-ton of Hundreds and Thousands. Perfect!
We had a large plate of fairy bread on the childrens table at daughter,s wedding. It was a battle keeping the men away from the fairy bread. Love your posts. Greetings from Australia.
Definitely needs MORE sprinkles! LOL
Let your little boy try it when he is a bit older, he’ll love it, great at kids birthday parties. Always a winner.
You should overdo it, if you can see the butter you need more hundreds and thousands, but I'm impressed by how Aussie you have become, 🇦🇺🇺🇸
its because we have had so many young children preteens & teens committing suicide something needed to change
MORE SPRINKLESSS
