For this, I 100% agree with Rahulji. I am yet to find anybody who even come close to Kishrda. There was never anybody ever that I heard of came close and I think will ever come close to Kishore in my lifetime at least. I mean that strong male voice of Kishore which can be so subtle at time to express so many different emotions such as happiness, pain, hopelessness, joy, love. Only one word in my mind, 'ekmewadwitiya'. This kind of voice will perhaps never exist again.
This is such a difficult song, especially hitting the notes of ‘mai sochta tha mera naam’, but you definitely do justice to Kishore Da. And of course the words penned by Gulzar. Aah, I truly regret that modern day Cinema has stopped employing poets for writing their songs, and instead just focuses on beats and catchy tunes/phrases.
Every person of our generation had a phase where he/she exclusively listened to kishore da songs and nothing else. He did not sing he delivered the feelings straight to your heart. He was the most talented, most creative, most versatile singer and the most sensitive soul we ever had. How do I compare this to the original? Let me just say that you made me tear up. You are a very different singer but you do have the ability to deliver feelings. Keep it up!!
Rahul ji, one suggestion: Due to covid and other engagements, physical presence might be limited for Vasantostav .. Try to LIVE STREAM it for a price so that we can support the effort and the event. This way people outside Pune can participate as well.

दबी हुयी सी चांह में... केवढे तरल भावयेत हे! गुलज़ारजी म्हणजे भावनांचा मूर्तिमंत समुद्रये. शुभ्र पोषाखात वावरणाऱ्या व्यक्तीच्या आत इतके भावरंग उसळत असतील! हे गाणं खूप खूप जवळचये. तुम्ही आताशा जेवढी गाणी देताय ती सगळीच्या सगळी मनाला आत आत स्पर्शून जातात. गाण्याचा ठहेराव, तो खोलवर उमटणारा भावतरंग सगळं खरंच शब्दातीत आहे राहुलजी. तुम्ही किती किती ग्रेट आहात हे पुन्हा पुन्हा सांगूनही इथे पुन्हा सांगावंसं वाटतंच. असंख्य वेळा पुण्यात तुम्हाला प्रत्यक्ष ऐकलंय पण या उपक्रमातून तुम्ही थेट भेटल्याचा आनंद आहे... पण, पण आता तुम्हाला प्रत्यक्ष भेटण्याची संधी देताय तुम्ही, वसंतोत्सवाच्या निमित्ताने. नक्कीच भेटूया लवकरच! पण एक सांगू का, याही पलीकडे जाऊन तुमचा स्वतंत्र गझल कार्यक्रम अपेक्षीत आहे. अर्थात कोरोनाचं कोणतंही ओझं मनावर नसताना... अगदी "खुलकर" मनानं!🤗👌🙏
