Jamie Lee Curtis didn't want to do anymore Halloween movies after h2 & wanted to venture into something new therefore the producers just made up shit as they went along and milked this for another 3 movies after John carpenter signed over rights to the franchise with Irwin yablans about Jamie - remember Jamie Lee Curtis ruled the late 70s & 80s as a scream queen with Halloween prom night & the fog etc
In the amazing Thorn Trilogy Parts 4-6 Laurie Strode did really die in a car accident! She never faked death, she really was dead in Michael Myers true original timeline of Parts 1-6. Michael Myers evil demonic karma killed her as it should've stayed! Fuck H20, Resurrection, both Rob Zombie films, and this crappy Halloween 2018. I wish they had done the Part 7 that was planned to take place right after Part 6 Producer's Cut. It would've been great knowing a lot about Tommy Doyle and having him be the one to try and stop Michael Myers once and for all.
In h20 she admits she faked her own death thats a reference to parts 4 through 6 where they think she died thats the thing she faked her own death and changed her name so that she cant be tracked down it all fits perfect there is no proof that laurie died even in resurrection i think she survived the fall i can prove it though dont forget crazy people run in the family michael is psychotic and so is jamie and who knows maybe laurie is messed up two but again staying alive for 3 movies i am sure she learned a trick or two on how to survive look at michael he learned how to survive through currants and being shot in the eye balls
@TheSideswipe96 It somewhat set up Halloween 4 or Halloween H20, depending on the timeline you look at. It would be presumed that Laurie and Jimmy got married, and if you follow the Halloween 4-6 timeline, Jamie Lloyd would of have been their daughter and that both Laurie and Jimmy died in a car crash. And if you follow the H20 timeline, Laurie and Jimmy would fake their deaths, to hide from Michael, both become divorced, and have a son together: John.
This is the original ending. Carpenter cut all of the added scenes in this cut. This cut is the closest to what we would've gotten had Carpenter not cut anything and added anything.
This scene is great, better then the other. It show's more emotional impact between Jimmy (lance guest), and Laurie jamie Leigh. I thought lance was great in delivery when Laurie, was crying and Jimmy, " what's a matter" was great.the why said was gentl.
I love TV extra scenes, but this one killed the flow. I liked just the shot of her face and shot of him burning with the music playing, as effective as the h20 ending.
Not so much an alternate ending has it is actually extended to show us Jimmy survived. In Either case why isn't this on the dvd?!? Pretty much tells us who the father of Laurie's son in H20 is right there as well lol
Luca Luca depends on timeline u follow, you see many believe H20 ignores H4 through H6, making only the first two canon. Which they're very much planning to do again with the new "Halloween Returns" film
Luca Luca Well you can pretty much think of the new one has a Halloween 4 Remake that no one asked for, lol. But on the bright if it does well that means more sequels to come, not only that but back into the original non-rob zombie feel of things :)
The Rabbid Yea i know what you mean I don't really mind the rob zombie remakes but a part 9 filled with explanations on things would be better than another remake.
I remember seeing this scene as a kid.... Since then I've seen the movie on DVD and on t.v. with the original ending and kept asking myself "Doesn't Jimmy appear at the end and 'scare' Loriin the ambulance?" Like Boomerang says, "It kept coming back to me".
I always liked this ending better than the other one because it tells you what happened to Jimmy too. Some people may still not have been clear on whether he died or not. Though I never had any problem figuring that out but I just really like this ending more.
@dejavu4evrr and @hollshore: I LOVE this ending. I understand the theatrical version does leave it a bit more "chilling" BUT after one hell of a night, it was nice to see Laurie have something/someone,and the fact that they did so by first having Jimmy under a sheet for one good last scare was great. And lIke Holl said, "Jamie" and "John" have a dad!
I love these old TV alternate cuts. They are usually inferior, but VERY interesting: Halloween 1 & 2, Carpenter's The Thing (with added narration and Wilford Brimley NOT being The Thing), the 70's version King Kong (an hour longer, mostly useless filler), Superman 2 (with added Richard Donner footage), Superman 3 (with a short subplot involving a mad bomber using mechanical penguin bombs), Dune, the 3 hour version of Needful Things, the far more violent TV version of Godfather 2...lots of good stuff back in the days when TV commercials were limited to no more than 12 minutes per hour.
@leadguitarman9 that has been the only problem i have with H20, that they completely ignored pts 4,5, and 6, or that she abandonded her daughter to raise her son.
@moviegeek75 I try not to let it bother me, lol. but yeah, they should've at least mentioned it somewhat. Supposedly there was a deleted scene where someone in Laurie's class gives a presentation and brings up the events of 4, 5, and 6. that would've been cool to see. either way, I still like them all, lol
This ending is NOT better. It takes away from the death of Michael.. I much prefer the ambiguous ending. It makes it much more chilling to just show Lauries face, then show Michael burning, then end credits.
they should have cut him walking at the end you can see the fire proof boots rosenthal lousy director just show his mask buring I saw this back in 1981 and the audience was laughing director should have least raised the camera off the floor to avoid this sti ll a great film
I love this ending. It's a happy ending. I kept wondering how did she have Jamie. So I'm wondering if that's Jamie's Dad. They both got together and got married maybe and had Jamie. Laurie and Jimmy couldn't really take care of her cause of Michael. Laurie had to put her into hiding. So that's why she was adopted by the other people in Halloween 4. If didn't know how Jamie had her own child, Michael was forced to rape her.
@RyT1994 technically, they messed up with the timeline, because in Halloween 4, Jamie Lloyd is supposed to be 7 years old, implied she was born in 1981... in H20, the son John is 17, also implying he was born in 1981. So why would Laurie fake her death, give up one child and keep the other...?
Definitely prefer this ending but had to laugh when Jimmy asks Laurie , “What’s the matter?” “Oh you know, almost got murdered like 10 different times, got stabbed, broke my ankle, no one can find my parents, saw a few other people get murdered, lost my best friends, and watched a hospital blow up. But other than that I’m chill.”
We are slightly overanalyzing, but you have to keep in mind that Jimmy wasn’t really aware nor did he see very much of what actually was going on around him, even though so much was. The only death that we can confirm he saw was of Mrs. Alves, But even at that point it wasn’t necessarily indicative of being caused by “Michael Myers” - only that something very sinister was going on. Jimmy never saw Michael Myers, in fact he may have still assumed Michael Myers was dead, because that was what the news was reporting erroneously at the time. Most if not all of the other happenings that took place in the hospital that night Jimmy did not see, nor was he privy to - being passed out in the parking lot for what we assume was probably 6 hours + when it was all said and done.
I remember watching Halloween 2 all the time on TV back in the 80s and this was the version they showed. Then in the early 90s they began showing the theatrically version on tv with only minor cuts--unbeknownst to me, I had no clue there was a "tv version". I watched it and went "Hmm. Why is this not quite as I remember it? Oh well, probably just remembered it wrong. It has been a few years..." but then it got to the very end and I went "No way! I know there was more! That Jimmy guy survived". I was perplexed. It wasn't until I got the 'net in '99 that I read about the tv version of H2. All became clear. But for about 10 years I thought "Did I image that ending? No way! I watched this movie tons of times, that dude popped up in the ambulance at the end! I know it!" It was kinda weird. Ha! For the record, ironically, I prefer the theatrical ending. It's the cynic in me!
I went through something similar with H1. USA Network always showed the TV cut of 1 with the added scenes. This was where I discovered the movie in the 90s. I later got the movie on VHS and wondered why there were scenes “missing.” I looked into it online soon after and figured it out.
I rather like this as well. It adds a bit of emotional punch to what was otherwise a pretty cold finale. Either way, for me it is where the Halloween films end.
I like both endings but this one seems a little more realistic in the sense that other people (not many tho) can survive Michael Myers. It would be too coincidental that once again ONLY Laurie escapes him.
I always loved how Jimmy survived. They just didn't show it in the final cut because of time. But think aboot how his name is Jimmy Lloyd and Laurie's daughter in Halloween 4 is named Jamie Lloyd 💕
Objectively speaking, sometimes the "too-happy ending" IS the better ending. Certainly, NOBODY could accuse them of "sequel-baiting" with the theatrical ending of Michael being burned beyond recognition. Philosophically speaking, the TV cut with the ambulance escaping into the fog is more of a sequel bait than the theatrical version, if only in a visually analogous (and mildly interesting) fashion. For Jimmy to have slipped on a conveniently placed LAKE of blood that no paramedic (except perhaps Bud) would walk through, instead choosing to go around to the OTHER side of the bed (after dubiously believing the Head Nurse might ~possibly~ be alive, he gingerly checks her pulse, then RUNS!), undoubtedly giving himself, at least, a concussion. Then, somehow, he ends up ~100 yards away, outside, inside a car, in an undetermined state. Jimmy must've somehow gotten himself to that car. Michael's not going to waste time moving him without a good reason, so he MUST have survived, albeit in quite a concussed state. Add in the chemistry between Laurie and Jimmy in the hospital room shortly after her admittance, and, well, you can't just establish something then "Oops, forgot it!". The "TV ending" was not shot ONLY for TV. As with most cliffhangers, alternate endings are required for the representative Studio - especially the testing groups🙄. The TV ending is more complete in that it circles around to sew up Jimmy's status (though I could've done without Jimmy sitting bolt upright with the blanket on his face...the person for that gag/event was Bud), give Laurie an outlet for her abject loneliness, and allow someone she could trust into her suddenly very different world. What is "Soap Opera" about sharing the feeling of having survived with another survivor? Furthermore, JLC's acting here was some of her best (if not her best), as she displayed a wide array of believable and scarred-yet-alive emotions in about 15 seconds. Too good to cut out. Apologies for the text wall. Thank You if you made it this far!
Not the best acting from Curtis in this scene. Also I think it was rightfully cut. Just too goofy. But I don't even care for this movie. I think it's boring.
And then they had a daughter named Jamie.......uh wait no.....uh...and then they had a son named John........uh wait actually no....uh.....and then had a daughter named Karen.....and then got divorced because of Laurie's PTSD.......oh wait that's not canon to this. Man the series is a big mess, a good big mess but still!
Without a second thought, I prefer this ending. For starters, it leads much better into HALLOWEEN IV. It stands to reason that Laurie and Jimmy would have named their daughter Jamie.
I definitely prefer this ending. We get some actual closure for Jimmy's storyline and Laurie gets a sense of relief after the entire night. Wish this was more played.

Neishawn Johnson because he was in a coma
@TheSideswipe96 It somewhat set up Halloween 4 or Halloween H20, depending on the timeline you look at. It would be presumed that Laurie and Jimmy got married, and if you follow the Halloween 4-6 timeline, Jamie Lloyd would of have been their daughter and that both Laurie and Jimmy died in a car crash. And if you follow the H20 timeline, Laurie and Jimmy would fake their deaths, to hide from Michael, both become divorced, and have a son together: John.
He's like, "Umm, Laurie... I don't remember anything like that. Did we do something while I was unconscious?"
This scene should of been the last scene of the Halloween movies. They never should of made more!
Hey! I knew I wasn't crazy! I thought I saw an ending where Jimmy survived. Then I never seen it again... But here it is.. LoL, it does exist
she should have gotten an Emmy nod for the TV version.
What if he was Michael Myers?
That would have sucked
It wouldn't make sense but if it was it'll be like Friday the 13th part 5
Lol we saw Michael's face for a few seconds in the first one.
I always thought jimmy was dead :( but he's lucky to be alive hooray :)
bad news he dies in a comic based in the h20 timeline that takes place a few weeks after this movie :(
@@jaydencorkhill1138 are you serious?
@@wooweezymoviestar601 Yep.
@@wooweezymoviestar601 yep Michael snapped his neck and Laurie saw it happened
This is canon to me. As this and the original ending can both exist in my opinion.
This kind fi works better cause it shows her haoppy and not him at all
Not so much an alternate ending has it is actually extended to show us Jimmy survived. In Either case why isn't this on the dvd?!? Pretty much tells us who the father of Laurie's son in H20 is right there as well lol
+The Rabbid Jimmy isn't john's father he's Jamies father.
Luca Luca depends on timeline u follow, you see many believe H20 ignores H4 through H6, making only the first two canon. Which they're very much planning to do again with the new "Halloween Returns" film
The Rabbid Fair enough but i just like to see the halloween franchise as 2 pieces one being the original 1-8 and then the second being the rz remakes.
Glad they cut this out it's so cheesy.
And that’s how Jamie Lloyd/John came to be 😂
I remember seeing this scene as a kid.... Since then I've seen the movie on DVD and on t.v. with the original ending and kept asking myself "Doesn't Jimmy appear at the end and 'scare' Loriin the ambulance?" Like Boomerang says, "It kept coming back to me".
i know me too
I always liked this ending better than the other one because it tells you what happened to Jimmy too. Some people may still not have been clear on whether he died or not. Though I never had any problem figuring that out but I just really like this ending more.
some good acting from Jamie lee here
I guess that was supposed to be Jamie's father.
Mr Sandman at the end of the original is not out of place , it's there for the purpose of irony.
How Jamie was made lmao
Jesus Christ Is Lord and Is The Only Way To Heaven🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
@dejavu4evrr and @hollshore: I LOVE this ending. I understand the theatrical version does leave it a bit more "chilling" BUT after one hell of a night, it was nice to see Laurie have something/someone,and the fact that they did so by first having Jimmy under a sheet for one good last scare was great. And lIke Holl said, "Jamie" and "John" have a dad!
I do not prefer this, but to each their own. Im glad they didnt use this.
May God Bless you all and your families🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
This ending makes more sense, always wondered what happened to Jimmy
It makes it much more chilling to just show Lauries face, then show Michael burning, then end credits.
they should have cut him walking at the end you can see the fire proof boots rosenthal lousy director just show his mask buring I saw this back in 1981 and the audience was laughing director should have least raised the camera off the floor to avoid this sti
ll a great film
Poor Laurie, little does she know that Michael Myers was driving the Ambulance while playing "Mr. Sandman" on the radio.🙄
If that was Michael, then the ambulance, driver's wouldn't have seem too care about putting Laurie, in there with Michael.
Michael put Laurie thru Hell 🔥🎃 🔪 She now realized He's The Boogyman 💯
He looks a lot like Michael in this scene
I still like it better, when she is the only survivor.
Did you spot a pre-SNL Dana Carvey holding the clipboard? It's true!
Yes and also earlier when the female news reporter was saying “if you can’t find their parents, get a statement anyway”
Love this alternate ending
I love this ending. It's a happy ending. I kept wondering how did she have Jamie. So I'm wondering if that's Jamie's Dad. They both got together and got married maybe and had Jamie. Laurie and Jimmy couldn't really take care of her cause of Michael. Laurie had to put her into hiding. So that's why she was adopted by the other people in Halloween 4. If didn't know how Jamie had her own child, Michael was forced to rape her.
I always wondered what happened to the EMS guy. Thanks for uploading.
@Mau5freak20 Yeah the Halloween series is my favorite slasher.
Halloween 1, 2 and H2O. should have been the only three real movies. And this ending is much better than the original one.
Nah, H20 is overrated
Halloween II should've been the ending, I believe Michael Myers died in that fire
That was originally their intent
With the scene of the mask burning
Then 10 years later these 2 both die in a car crash and then Michael Myers comes after their daughter Jamie
I remember seeing this sending it was the best ending
Laurie's gonna be in for a shock when she finds out what Dr. Loomis did to Ben Tramer.
Halloween 2018 sucked.
I admit it’s too much of a happy ending but I loved this
My order of Halloween Movies:
Halloween (1978)
No more.....
@@JMaxwell85 funny enough, same thing. I saw the TV version of Halloween first as well.
Would be cool if the last shot was off michael's mask burning, and then his hand gripping tight on the scalpel Showing Halloween 4
"Yeah totally, it would've been really cool, because it would've set up for Halloween 4 (One of the best sequels in the Halloween franchise.)"
I rather like this as well. It adds a bit of emotional punch to what was otherwise a pretty cold finale. Either way, for me it is where the Halloween films end.
This is from the TV version---sponsored by Silver Shamrock® masks and costumes.
🎃
I like both endings but this one seems a little more realistic in the sense that other people (not many tho) can survive Michael Myers. It would be too coincidental that once again ONLY Laurie escapes him.
Rick rosenthal should be a damn shame for directing resurrection smh
he didnt improve
One of the Friday the 13th movies copied this ending.
Halloween should have ended after ll. No need for additional movies.
Agreed
Great clip for a great movie. Thanks.
Why was there a sheet over his head?
1:02 now we know how Jamie Loyd birthed
Now we know where Jamie and John came from.
Jimmy isnt john dad just jamie dad cuz H4-H6 is a different timeline than H20
and john dies in the death of laurie strode comic which is set in the h20 timeline
I like to think of it as all one big timeline with some gaps, since the 4-6 timeline and the H20 timeline are both solidly connected I 1&2
love this movie
should’ve just ended it right there, Laurie was happy and Michael was gone
Ignoring the fact that he was very, clearly dead earlier in the film, this was a very happy ending, and I wish it was in the original cut.
Morria e não sabia desse final. Muito melhor 🙂🧡🧡🧡🎃🎃
I like this ending
And then they had a daughter named Jamie.......uh wait no.....uh...and then they had a son named John........uh wait actually no....uh.....and then had a daughter named Karen.....and then got divorced because of Laurie's PTSD.......oh wait that's not canon to this. Man the series is a big mess, a good big mess but still!
Without a second thought, I prefer this ending. For starters, it leads much better into HALLOWEEN IV. It stands to reason that Laurie and Jimmy would have named their daughter Jamie.
