This game is awesome but it's a bit of an awkward one to record due to the weird Weapon Master mode. Nonetheless, this game has some awesome cinematics, very fun combat and really cool characters. The GameCube version features Link, Xbox features Spawn and PS2 features Heihachi. I never owned any of the Tekken or Mortal Kombat games when I was young, but I had this. Anyway.. about the Weapon Master mode.. it consists of a few areas each with their own battles. Most of the battles have their own special rules (i.e fast health regeneration, no blocking, knock the opponent against a wall, etc). The goal of Weapon Master mode is to make it through all the areas to battle the final boss and trigger the ending/credits. The problem I had whilst recording this game was whether or not to just go straight towards the final boss or to do all the subchapters as well.. I opted for the latter. The problem with that is that most areas can't be accessed in the first playthrough and require a second playthrough... so that's what I did. I completed all of the possible stages/areas in the first playthrough, killed the boss, then did all stages again (+ new stages) in the "Extra" playthrough. That's why this video is so long. Unfortunately it doesn't really add anything new as there's no cutscenes or dialogue for completing any of this. The whole thing fell into a bit of a greyzone regarding our video guidelines but I decided to record it anyway just so I wouldn't get any complaints. After the long tedious Weapon Master mode, I do one round of Arcade.. which is more battles.. but with no special rules! There's a bit of an ending for each character. I made sure to include all of them in this video. Including the PS2/XBOX exclusive character ending. Good game overall. I wish the "Extra" Weapon Master wasn't a thing and I wish there were more cutscenes throughout the Weapon Master mode. The whole thing feels a little rushed now. They could've gotten more out of that. I also noticed that Subchapter 2 is missing. Probably because it's locked behind a bunch of requirements and I accidentally missed it.
@@longplayarchive its been so long since I've played this one, there was some areas that was not available in the first playthrough of weapon master mode and you had to go through a second one in the extra version of the mode right?
Each system had it's own special character. Gamecube had link from the legend of zelda series, ps2 had heihachi from the tekken series and I dont fully remember who was the special guest for the xbox version.
I love the narrator dialog in this game before each fight. " Two fighters find their souls entangled in a dance of swords and embers in which their hero hearts must tame the fire of their passion in a ferocious quest to relinquish the enemy within.... FIGHT!!!!"
The nostalgia I felt watching this was overwhelming. THE best game in the series by far and the game that got me into Soulcalibur to begin with. I remember spending hours each day playing this game as a Yunsung main. Back when I was 13 and life was simpler. Good times.
Soulcalibur II was my childhood and one of my all-time favorite games for PS2, OG Xbox and GameCube. Soulcalibur II was also the game that got me into Soulcalibur as a whole 😎👍🏼
And it's funny, because this is the OOT Link here. Who knows, maybe the all the games from the 1980s and '90s were the same original Link before Hyrule Histora screwed everything.
I've play Soul Calibur 2 way back in my childhood days but had demo on ps2 when had a disc that had bunch of games collected but never went further to get the full version
wow almost 20 years. this has aged well or not much innovation with newer soulcalibur, I could play this game today. the sfx and vfx of swords clashing is satisfying which is almost gone in newer versions.
I still have my copy, beaten it 100% (yes, I did), and I always use Link, being so familiar with Ocarina of Time as a kid. I miss the true Link, the Hero of Time Mr. Hiyama did (trying using Nightmare/Yoshimitsu in Japanese for something familiar...). The game itself is a wonderful fighting game. Weapon Master is super tedious, though, especially when unlocking Grandmaster rank, then reaching Lv.99.
I own the GC Japanese Version, i still remember how hard it was to complete 100% the Weapon Master Mode but anyway i think, the Chronicles of the Sword in Soul Calibur 3 is even harder than that, i grinded the Chronicles 4 times to finally be able to buy every item in the 3 stores and i finally did it, just recently...SC3 for me is the best SC ever made and with the best narrator voice
I'm trying to recreate every character in soulcalibur 2 in their looks in soulcalibur 6 my classic cervantes cutom looks just like it in soulcalibur 4 exept can't find the red eyes

I'm just grateful for the video. Thanks for yet another amazing upload as always.
Thankyou:)

Brings back old memories
Speaking of Link, any idea when you'll re-do Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time Master Quest?
This game is a Legendary one. Link is in it makes it more special.

@@82SMR it was spawn
I perfer this version, because as you said, it has Link, and not only him, the HERO OF TIME!
@@ryutenken1 that's who I thought but wasnt 100% positive. Thanks

I love his quote with the "Transcending history and the world, a tale of souls and swords, eternally retold."
my god the thousands of hours i put into this game with my best friend. i will never forget thank you for the uploads you are a legend.
I remember my dad bought this out of the blue for me and I just fell in love with it! This video brings back so much memories
My god!! I was a teenager when this came out! One of the fighting games I grew up on. Loved Soul Calibur 2!

The very best and most beautiful fighting game I've EVER played...you can't change my mind.

Gg. Thank you for the video. It helped me to beat the game.
Fantastic game and has to be the best opening to a game ever.
Grew up playing this game with my friends. My girl talim!
I grew up on this game true nostalgia!!!!!!!!
I like how they tied Link's appearance in the game to the wizard Aghanim getting his powers from Soul Edge in another dimension.
And it's funny, because this is the OOT Link here. Who knows, maybe the all the games from the 1980s and '90s were the same original Link before Hyrule Histora screwed everything.

Sounds like Wendee Lee
I wouldn't mind soulcalibur 1-5 remastered. I know 1 and 2 technically was for xbox 360 and ps3, they were called soulcalibur hd and soulcalibur 2 hd.
Yo jugaba este juego con 5 añitos sin saber nada que recuerdos tan hermosos ❤

So... My level is 121. Grande edgemaster of the gargoyle.
Anyone who likes Link from The Legend of Zelda should play the Nintendo GameCube version of Soulcalibur II since he is from Nintendo.
