  • In this video I cover how to pre-set up a trim sensor on a Volvo Penta EVC D or E Sterndrive transom assembly. This is procedure works for DPS-A or SX-A version sterndrives. I also demonstrate how to calibrate a newly installed drive sensor.

    Just finished the trim sender replacement. Went well. The boat is on a lift so it was a bit harder than if hauled. Followed your procedures. Set the ohms, used a leader wire to pull the new sender harness and did the calibration. Thanks so much!

    What position should the drive be in when installing the sensor ? I have twins with EVC and one bad sensor. I'm afraid it will mess up the trim assist.
